Donald Eugene Dawkins
TUSCOLA - Donald Eugene Dawkins, 48, died Thursday in an Abilene hospital.
The body was cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home of Tuscola made arrangements.
Mr. Dawkins was born in San Angelo and moved to Tuscola in 1995. He married Dorothy Ann Cupps Heiser in Nov., 1996, in Abilene. He was a welder and worked for Abco Industries.
Survivors include his wife of Tuscola; three daughters, Lura Cobb of Odessa, Amanda Dawkins of Tuscola, and Stephenia Heiser of Abilene; four sons, Donald Dawkins of Buffalo, Daniel Dawkins of New Mexico, and Dallas Dawkins and Justin Heiser both of Tuscola; three brothers, Demell Dawkins Jr., Joel Dawkins, and Tom Dawkins all of San Angelo, one sister, Molly Dawkins Pace of Acadia, Okla.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

S.R. ‘Mac’ McMullan
S.R. “Mac” McMullan, 75, of Abilene died Saturday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 am. Tuesday at Heritage Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Shirley officiating, assisted by the Rev. Howard Ingram. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 U.S. Hwy. 277 South.
Mr. McMullan was born and attended school in Snyder and moved to Abilene from Snyder in 1951. He was an Army and National Guard veteran and worked in the oil fields for a number of years. He retired after 23 years with the U.S. Postal Service in 1985. He was a member and trustee of Heritage Baptist Church and a member of the Over the Hill Gang. He married Virginia Brown in 1955 in Hamlin.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two sons, Royce McMullan of Anaheim, Calif., and Dennis McMullan of New Orleans, La.; two daughters, Carolyn Walls of Fredericksburg and Susan Mitchell of Abilene; two brothers, Randy McMullan of Amarillo and Bob McMullan of Austin; one sister, Connie Lee of Temple; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Maria ‘Ama’ Paz Guajardo
Maria “Ama” Paz Guajardo, 87, died Sunday at her home.
A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today at North’s Funeral Home Chapel, 242 Orange. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Uecker officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Guajardo grew up in Sweetwater and moved to Abilene in 1959. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. She married Jose Guarjardo in 1929 in Hamlin; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Julia Guajardo of Abilene and Betty Campos of Austin; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Harold Ray Bullock
Harold Ray Bullock, 68, died Friday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Girdner-Brown Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Elm.
Mr. Bullock was born in Brownfield and graduated from Abilene High School. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict and a self-employed master cabinetmaker.
Survivors include five sons, Ricky Bullock and Randy Bullock, both of Dallas, Nicky Bullock of Rowlett and Sandy Bullock and Monte Bullock, both of Plano; two sisters, Linda Gail Gray of Abilene and Barbara Harrison of Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother, Charles Glen Bullock of Plano; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Lawrence John Haynes
Lawrence John Haynes, 85, of Abilene died Sunday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Elmwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Sue Rowlett officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy. 277 South.
Mr. Haynes was born in Jones County and moved to Abilene from Pearce, Ariz., in 1994. He had been a chemist for Phelps Dodge Corporation for 30 years. He was a Mason and a Methodist. He married Wanda Kay in 1997 in Abilene.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two sons, David Haynes of Phoenix, Ariz., and Larry Haynes of Kansas City, Mo.; two stepsons, Alton Davis of Coleman and Richard Davis of Lampasas; one brother, Oscar Haynes of Pipe Creek; one sister, Thelma De Sart of Abilene; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Jose Alberto Grimes
Jose Alberto Grimes, 45, died Wednesday at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at North’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange. The body will be cremated.
Mr. Grimes grew up in New York, N.Y., and was an Air Force veteran. He moved to Abilene in 1990. He married Roberta Bovel in 1975 in Bellville, Ill.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two sons, Jose Grimes Jr. of the Azores and Marcus Grimes of Abilene; two daughters, Casey Grimes of Langley, Va., and Vanessa Grimes of Abilene; two brothers, James Grimes of Florida and Gabriel Grimes of Long Island, N.Y.; and four sisters, Anita Smith of Queens, N.Y., Vilma Godbolt of Charlotte, N.C., Carmen Eccles of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Sandra Reddick of Florida.

LeRoy Whitt
CLYDE — LeRoy Whitt, 71, died Saturday at an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Ross Cemetery in Baird, directed by Bailey Funeral Home.
Mr. Whitt was born in Lawn and had lived in Clyde for 23 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict and was a carpenter. He was a Baptist minister and chaplain for the American Legion.
Survivors include five sons, LeRoy Whitt Jr. and Robert Wayne Whitt, both of Waxahachie, Raymond Whitt and David Whitt, both of Clyde, and Kelly Gene Whitt of Corsicana; three daughters, Donna Housewright of Red Oak, Wanda Sue Ray of Quinland and Cathy Williams of Forresten; two brothers, Barney Whitt of Cisco and Billy Whitt of Waxahachie; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

ROBY — Polly Ida Kolb Helm Harrison, 91, died Sunday at a Sweetwater nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Weathersbee Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Loran Gardner and Jim McClurg officiating. Burial will be in Roby Cemetery.
Mrs. Harrison was born in Anderson County and was a homemaker and a member of Roby United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Leon Helm of Roby; one sister, Naome Cauble of Roby; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Billy Leroy Reed
Billy Leroy Reed, 73, of Abilene died Sunday at his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, 3349 N. 12th, with the Rev. David Cason officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Reed was born in Goldthwaite and attended school in Robert Lee. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He worked for Thornton Grocery Store, Super Duper, Gibson Discount Store, Dyess Air Force Base and the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1984. He was a Baptist. He married Billie Jean McCollum in 1950 in Breckenridge.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one son, Noel Lee Reed of Abilene; one sister, Wanda Keene of Bonham; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Ruth Reddell Clary
LUBBOCK — Ruth Reddell Clary died Sunday.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Resthaven Cemetery. A service will follow at Second Baptist Church, directed by Sanders Funeral Home.
Mrs. Clary was born in Cedar Gap and graduated from Tuscola High School. She attended McMurry College (now University) and moved to Lubbock from Abilene in 1946. She was retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and was a member and past officer of Bell Telephone Company Pioneers. She was a charter member of Second Baptist Church and charter member and current president of The Patio Club. She married Ewing “Buck” Clary in 1938 in Abilene; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Buck Clary Jr. of Amarillo; one daughter, Nancy Machala of San Antonio; two sisters, Cleo Howard of Rowlett and Edna Cole of Abilene; one brother, Robert Reddell of Pampa; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church Building Fund.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-7 p.m. today.
