LaJuan Nance
PLAINVIEW — LaJuan Nance, 62, died Sunday at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church chapel with the Rev. David Hartman officiating, assisted by Dr. Travis Hart. Burial will be in Lockney Cemetery, directed by Lemons Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nance was born in Coryell County and grew up in Amarillo and Lockney, where she attended school. She graduated from Wayland College with a bachelor’s degree in history and was a licensed vocational nurse. She worked at Central Plains Regional Hospital and St. Mary of the Plains Critical Care Unit. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Tom Nance in 1952 in Muleshoe.
Survivors include her husband, of Plainview; two daughters, Deborah Woodlock of Abilene and Julia Iturrino of Lubbock; two sons, Tom Nance Jr. of Brownfield and John Nance of Macon, Ga.; one brother, Frank Graham of Amarillo; her mother, Ola Mae Graham of Amarillo; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Women’s Protective Services.

Ada Mae Baker Fuller
BROWNWOOD — Ada Mae Baker Fuller, 90, of Fort Worth and formerly of Brownwood, died Sunday at a Keene nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Greenleaf Cemetery, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mrs. Fuller was born in Evant and was a longtime resident of Brownwood. She moved to Fort Worth four years ago. She was employed by the Brownwood Bulletin for 30 years and also worked for Wisemans, M&M Shop and The Glamour Shop. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. She married John Alton Fuller in 1926 in Star; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, John Anselm Fuller of Joshua; one brother, Charles Baker of Carlsbad, N.Mex.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m. today.

Dorothy Brown Alsobrook
ROCHESTER — Dorothy Brown Alsobrook, 76, died Sunday at a Knox County hospital after a brief illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Rule Church of Christ with Donald Ray Jones officiating. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home of Knox City.
Mrs. Alsobrook was born in Rochester and graduated from Rochester High School. She returned to Rochester from Hurst in 1985 and was a member of the Church of Christ in Rule. She married D.C. Alsobrook in 1942 in Haskell.
Survivors include her husband, of Rochester; one daughter, Debra Chance of Ballinger; one son, Donald Ray Alsobrook of Hurst; one brother, Troy Brown of Rochester; and three sisters, Claudine Jones of Three Rivers, Earlene Hankins of Andrews and Betty Jo Brewer of Midland.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Median Children’s Home, Medina TX.

James Oliver Bowling Jr.
BANGS — James Oliver Bowling Jr., 70, died Sunday at his home.
The body will be cremated, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Mr. Bowling was born in Ash Grove, Mo., and moved to Bangs in 1987. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a rural mail carrier. He married Doris Jean King in 1956 in Ash Grove.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Bowling of Bangs; one son, Eddie Bowling of Corpus Christi; two daughters, Connie Martindale of Texarkana, Tex., and Traci Robb of Dimmitt; one sister, Ruth Cover of Ash Grove; eight grandchildren, one niece, one nephew and one great-nephew.

Ruby Lee Pirtle
CISCO — Ruby Lee Pirtle, 83, who taught biology at Cisco High School for 26 years, died Monday at an Eastland hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Craig officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, directed by Kimbrough Funeral Home.
Mrs. Pirtle was born in Hamlin and graduated from Blanket High School. She graduated from Mary Hardin-Baylor University with a bachelor’s degree in education and from Hardin-Simmons University with a master’s degree in education.
She was a member of Retired Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, First Industrial Arts Club, General Federation of Women’s Clubs, state board of Texas Federated Women’s Clubs and Daughters of the American Revolution. She was president of several organizations and held offices in all.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and Women’s Missionary Union and taught Sunday school from 1953-1997. She married Stanley Pirtle in 1938 in Blanket.
Survivors include her husband, of Cisco; one daughter, Linda Black of Belaire; one son, Vaughn Pirtle of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one brother, Paul Henderson of San Saba; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Roy Simmons
BROWNWOOD — Roy H. Simmons, 89, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Greenleaf Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Union Presbyterian Church with Dr. Norbert Peil officiating, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mr. Simmons was born in Ballinger and lived in Brownwood and Brown County most of his life. He was retired president of Southern Savings and Loan and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of Union Presbyterian Church. He married Dorothy Gifford in 1934 in Brownwood; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include one son, Robert Simmons of Dallas; one sister, Emily Simmons of Brownwood; one granddaughter, one step-granddaughter, one cousin and one nephew.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-7 p.m. today.

HAMLIN — Aurrora R. Montanez, 9, died Sunday at Lake Fort Phantom in Jones County.
Mass will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Oscar Del Rio officiating. Burial will be in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, directed by Foster-Adams Funeral Home.
Aurrora was born in Stamford and attended Hamlin Elementary School. She was a Catholic.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Margarita Rivera and Luis Sanchez; her father and stepmother, Albert and Wendy Montanez; three brothers, Jose Sanchez, Robert Lane Montanez and Albert Montanez, all of Hamlin; one sister, Maria Sanchez of Hamlin; and grandparents Aurrora Montanez of Mexico, Ernest and Vera Rivera of Hamlin and Rosa Rivera of Snyder.
The body will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Church until service time.

HAMLIN — Tiffany Michelle Villarreal, 11, died Sunday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Assembly of God Church with the Revs. Ted Miller and Paul Vasquez officiating. Burial will be in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, directed by Foster-Adams Funeral Home.
Tiffany was born in Abilene and attended school in San Angelo.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Raquel and Tomas Martinez of Hamlin; her father, Johniton Cook of San Angelo; two brothers, Johniton Cook Jr. of San Angelo and Julian Villarreal of Hamlin; two sisters, Erika Villarreal and Cindy Villarreal, both of Hamlin; and grandparents Josefa Villarreal of Hamlin and Julian Flores and Maria de Jesus Martinez, both of Mexico.
The body will be at First Assembly of God Church.
