Ruby Brown Watts
EASTLAND — Ruby Brown Watts, 92, died Monday in an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rocky Creek Cemetery near Brownwood with Dwayne Robertson officiating, directed by Edwards Funeral Home of Eastland. A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Kingdom Hall, Linda Street - Pogue Park, Eastland.
Mrs. Watts was born Nov. 9, 1906, in Hallettsville. She married T.A. Watts on June 6, 1924, and worked as a homemaker. Together they lived in South Texas, Bangs and later Abilene. She had been a resident at Valley View Healthcare Center for seven years.
Survivors include her sons, Joe Watts of Gordon, Marshall Watts of Richardson and Doyle Watts of Beaumont; daughter, Dolores Wolf of Vincent; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive guests at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland from 4 - 6 p.m. today.

Fern D. Jones
Fern D. Jones, 76, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 12, in North Park Baptist Church with the Rev. Louis Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Jones was born in Santo and attended school there. She was the widow of Alton P. Jones, whom she married on Sept. 13, 1941 in Comanche. She moved to Abilene in 1958 from Wichita Falls and worked at Hendrick Medical Center until her retirement in 1986 after 23 years’ service. She was a member of the American Business Women’s Association, the Cobb Park Senior Citizens, and North Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Larry D. Jones of Weatherford and Lanny M. Jones of Abilene; one daughter, Sandra Kay Wunneburger of Lubbock; one sister, Edna Brogden of Lubbock; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Estelle Freeland
Estelle Freeland, 74, died Wednesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Crescent Heights Baptist Church with the Revs. Mike Chancellor, John Mills, and Joe Coppinger, and Frances Knight officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliot-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Ms. Freeland was born in Cottonwood and graduated from Baird High School. She also graduated from TSCW, now Texas Women’s University, and received her Master’s from Southwestern Baptist Seminary. She served with the Foreign Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention for 35 years as a missionary to Nigeria and the Ivory Coast in Africa before retiring in 1989 and moving to Abilene. She was a member of the Baptist Women, the adult choir, and the adult handbell choir at Crescent Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include two brothers, Blanton Freeland of Abilene and B.H. Freeland Jr. of Granbury; one uncle; and several nieces and nephews.

Olive Cleo Dacus
Olive Cleo Dacus, 90, of Abilene, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at the South 11th and Willis Church of Christ with Ian Fair officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. in San Saba City Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Dacus was born in San Saba, where she graduated from high school in 1928. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Howard Payne College in 1948 and her Master’s of Education from Hardin-Simmons University in 1953. She taught for three years in San Saba and seven years in Brady before moving to Abilene in 1951. She then taught for 13 years at Fannin and eight years at Jackson. She was the widow of Virgil Doyle Dacus, whom she married on May 17, 1930 in San Saba. She was a member of the South 11th and Willis Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Pence Dacus of Singapore and Weldon Dacus of Ovalo; one brother, Noel Clayton Taylor of Austin; one sister, Wilda B. Letbetter of Brownwood; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.

Lucy G. Burton
MORAN — Lucy G. Burton, 83, died Thursday in an Albany nursing home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 12, at the Moran First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Moran Cemetery, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home of Albany.
Mrs. Burton was born in Moran. She was the widow of Alton Burton, whom she married on Dec. 23, 1936 in Cisco. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and received her 50 year pin in 1988. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Gwen Gates of Moran; two grandchildren; one step-grandchild; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Viewing will be until 9 a.m. Saturday morning.

Dottie McIntosh
BAIRD — Dottie McIntosh, 85, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 12, in the Baird Church of Christ with Joe Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Ross Cemetery Annex, directed by Parker Funeral Home of Baird.
Mrs. McIntosh was born in Callahan County. She was the widow of Duke McIntosh, whom she married on Aug. 13, 1932 in Baird. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baird Church of Christ.
Survivors include four sons, Dale Barton McIntosh of Abilene, David Clark McIntosh and Leonard “Mack” McIntosh both of Bay City, and Lonnie Preston McIntosh of Merkel; two daughters, Virginia Louise Beaird of Abilene and Linda Ilean Prater of San Angelo; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to West Texas Rehabilitation Center or a favorite charity.

Virgie Lois Teston Richardson
SWEETWATER — Virgie Lois Teston Richardson, 81, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 12, at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Sweetwater with the Revs. James Baker and Ervin Lehrman officiating. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery.
Mrs. Richardson was born in Taylor County and had lived in Sweetwater most of her life. She had worked as a waitress and was a member of Broadway Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Patsy Null of Sweetwater; two sons, Donald Richardson of Atlanta, Ga. and Ronald Richardson of Dallas; one brother, Jerry Teston of Sweetwater; six sisters, Wilba Walker, Loreta Lambert, Dorothy Tollison, and Mildred Chaney all of Sweetwater, Roberta Newsome of Abilene, and Doris Musick of Noodle; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Lois Christine 'Chris' Bower
Lois Christine "Chris" Bower, 83, of Abilene, died Friday at a local nursing center.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Belle Plain Cemetery in Callahan County with the Rev. Bill Ballou officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Ms. Bower was born in Mexia and attended school in Bayou near Baird. She attended Draughon's Business School and Gail Business School, and was the Assistant County Auditor for Taylor County for 26 years. She was a member of the Abilene Garden Club, American Business Women's Club, Good Sam Travel Club, Loners On Wheels, and Loafers of America. She was president of the Business and Professional Women's Club in 1974 . She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Carrie Ola Wyckoff Jones
JUNCTION - Carrie Ola Wyckoff Jones, 98, died Thursday in a San Angelo nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June13, in the Junction Cemetery, directed by Aubrey Fife Funerals of Junction.
Mrs. Jones was born in Mason County. She was the widow of Luther Jones. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include four sons, Irwin Jones, Duard Jones, Glen Jones, and Don Taylor; one daughter, Ola Stell; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

William Claud Copley
COLEMAN - William Claud Copley, 63, of Glen Cove, died Thursday in a Dallas hospital.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 13, in the Glen Cove Cemetery at the Pavilion with the Rev. Jerry Shields officiating, directed by Walker Funeral Home of Coleman.
Mr. Copley was born in Huntsville and lived in Splendora from 1969 to 1984 when he moved to the Glen Cove area. He worked for Coleman County Precinct 4 in maintenance. He was a Methodist.
Survivors include his wife, Nelda Copley of Glen Cove; one daughter, Stephanie Moore of Coleman; two sons, Keith Copley of Talpa and Robert Copley of Plumgrove; two sisters, Mary Avants of Tom Ball and Gerrye Shaffer of Houston; one brother, Mike Copley of Anderson; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
