Betty Lou Newman
Betty Lou Newman, 77, died Monday at her residence.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Elliot-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory with the Rev. H.G. Barnard officiating. Burial will be in Hawley Cemetery.
Mrs. Newman was born in Hawley and lived in Abilene all of her life. She was the widow of Austin Newman, whom she married on April 9, 1937 in Abilene. She was a homemaker and a member of the Second Baptist Church in Abilene.
Survivors include three sons, Wylie Newman and Jack Newman both of Abilene, and Jimmy Newman of Hawley; four daughters, Nancy Schmidt of Hamby, Dorothye Grooms of Arlington, Francis Davis of South Lake, and Linda Hill of Abilene, three brothers, John Chittum of Clyde, Jim Chittum of Abilene, and George Chittum of Jal, N.M.; four sisters, Skeeter Hughes of Calif., Sue Johnson of Jal, N.M., Mabel Robertson of Clyde, and Jewel Degroff of Abilene; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Carson Holdridge
CISCO — Carson Holdridge, 73, died Monday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Craig officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, directed by Kimbrough Funeral Home of Cisco.
Mr. Holdridge was born in DeLeon. He served with the U.S. Army in Germany during World War II. He married Omalee Fenley on Jan. 20, 1946 in Cisco. He retired from Gulf Oil after 28 years as a transport driver. He was also employed by Kimbrough Funeral Home. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Cisco; one son, Gary Holdridge of Midland; two daughters, Cheryl Stennett and Sharon Thiberville both of Cisco; eight grandchildren; and one nephew.

Faye Scott
HAMLIN — Faye Scott, 66, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in the Hamlin Church of Christ with Drew Tomlinson officiating. Burial will be in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, directed by Foster-Adams Funeral Home of Hamlin.
Mrs. Scott was born in Gould, Okla. She married Wayne Scott on Nov. 1, 1952 in Lovington, N.M. She moved to Hamlin in 1973 and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband of Hamlin; one son, Billy D. Wayne Scott of Hamlin, three daughters, Linda Robinson of Clyde, and Darlyn Chreech and Sherry Herrrera both of Abilene, one sister, May Dalton of Abilene; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rosa Aline Long Nix
CLIFTON — Rosa Aline Long Nix, 80, formerly of Blanket, died Monday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 17, at the Blanket Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Camp officiating. Burial will be in Blanket Cemetery, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Mrs. Nix was born in Garland. She was the widow of Daniel “Dan” Nix, whom she married on June 25, 1938. She had lived in the Blanket Community most of her life and had been an over 50-year member of the Blanket Baptist Church. She had lived in Whitney for 10 years and a few months in Clifton. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Nelson Nix of Whitney and Dale Nix of Brownwood; two sisters, Elsie Sanders of Arlington and Hazel Jacops of Muleshoe; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pensie N. Brown
BROWNWOOD — Pensie N. Brown, 96, died Tuesday in a Coleman nursing home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 17, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Brownwood with the Rev. S.L. Yeilding officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Brown County.
Mrs. Brown was born in Brown County and was a lifetime resident of Brownwood. She was the widow of Guy Dee Brown, whom she married in June, 1925 in Brown County. She retired from Brownwood Manufacturing Company and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist church.
Survivors include one daughter, Bonnie Yeilding Machen of Gouldbusk; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

WEATHERFORD — Bonnie Kaye Kimzey, 47, died Sunday at her residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 17, in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Home Chapel in Weatherford.
Mrs. Kimzey was born in San Angelo. She was a legal secretary and a member of the Peaster Baptist church.
Survivors include one daughter, Tiffany Moore of Fort Worth; her mother, Wilma Bergan of Abilene; stepfather, Noah Heaton of Abilene; three sister, Cherry Vallandingham of Big Lake, Connie Moore of Sweetwater, and Beverly Thomas of Amarillo; and three brothers, Kenny Heaton of Clyde, Norman Heaton of Owasso, Okla., and Finis Smith of Big Lake.

Ruby Gramelspacher
MIDLAND — Ruby Gramelspacher, 69, died Monday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Abilene with Kevin Kennedy officiating, directed by Ellis Funeral Home of Midland.
Mrs. Gramelspacher was born in Big Chimney, W.Va. She moved to Abilene in 1962 and to Midland in 1980. She married Arthur Cletus Gramelspacher on June 15, 1983 in Midland.
Survivors include her husband of Midland; two sons, John Douglas Matthews of Midland and Wyatt Allen Matthews of Beaumont; one daughter, Sharon Pardue Perez of Abilene; one brother “Shorty” Cavender of Elkview, W.Va.; one sister, Estelle Taylor of Big Chimney, W.Va.; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Nancy Johnson Pelton
OXFORD, MISS. — Nancy Johnson Pelton, 72, died Monday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 17, in the Waller Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford, Miss. with the Rev. Sam Marshall officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 18, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Meridian, Miss.
Mrs. Pelton had been a telephone operator for the University of Mississippi in Oxford. She had previously worked as a secretary for the Welfare Department in Cleveland, Miss. and for the Department of Human Services in Texas. She was a former member of the Professional Business Women’s Association in Texas and of the First Baptist Church in Anson.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Susan Clark of Oxford, Miss.

Drew Michael Herdman
Drew Michael Herdman, 5 months, died Tuesday in an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Elmwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Jeffry Dull officiating, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home.
Drew was born Feb. 13, 1999, at Dyess Air Force Base to Shawn Dean Herdman and Kelly Diane Saunders Herdman.
Survivors include his parents of Dyess Air Force Base; one brother, Evan Charles Herdman of Dyess Air Force Base; maternal grandparents, Jill Hero of Abilene and Rudy Saunders of Gainesville, Ga.; paternal grandparents, Joyce and Dean Herdman of Irving, and Randy Fox of Quinlan; two uncles James R. "Chip" Saunders of Abilene and Joshua Herdman of Irving; two aunts, Jamie Herdman of Irving and Wendy Swain of Dallas; and great-aunt, Jamie Villegas of Abilene.

Mollie Elizabeth Goza Hatfield
NOODLE - Mollie Elizabeth Goza Hatfield, 95, died Wednesday in a Merkel nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 18, in the Noodle First Baptist Church with the Revs. Dick Griffith and Ed Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home of Anson.
Mrs. Hatfield was born in Madison County. She was the widow of Carson N. Hatfield, whom she married in 1925 in Merkel. She had been a resident of Noodle for 85 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Eulan Hatfield of Noodle; one daughter, Margie Baccus of Buffalo Gap; one brother, Bill Goza of Abilene; one sister, Lema Hatfield of Snyder; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
