Joe Adams
Joe W. Adams, 80, died Thursday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Maryneal Cemetery in Nolan County with the Rev. Vance Roberts officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Adams was born in Cisco and moved to Maryneal in 1920. He graduated from Highland High School and served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in England, northern France, Normandy, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He married Margaret Hiscock in 1944 in Tilehurst Reading, England, and moved to Abilene in 1945. He drove a gasoline transport truck for Humble Oil, now Exxon, for 16 years and Compton Transport for four years. He was a service attendant for McAlister Oil Co. for 15 years until retiring and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Abilene; three sons, Joe Henry Adams of Merkel, David Louis Adams of California and Christopher Adams of Eula; one sister, Thelma Hudman of Sweetwater; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to a favorite charity.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Yeolan Achsah Corum Martin
CLYDE -- Yeolan Achsah Corum Martin, 82, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carroll Hinds officiating. Burial will be in Clyde Cemetery.
Mrs. Martin was born in Ballinger and attended school in Coleman. She moved to Clyde in 1972 from Abilene. She was a Methodist and was the widow of Forrest Martin, whom she married in 1934 in Brownwood.
Survivors include one brother, Herbert K. Corum of Del Rio; one sister, Theresa Fletcher of Clyde; and several nieces and nephews.

Herman Arthur
ARLINGTON -- Herman L. Arthur, 60, formerly of Abilene, died Tuesday in Arlington.
A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Moore & Sons Funeral Home Bowen Road Chapel.
Mr. Arthur was born in Harlingen and lived in Fort Worth for many years. He graduated from Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth and Hardin-Simmons University and served as a military policeman in the U.S. Army. He moved to Arlington 21 years ago and worked as an utilities accountant for Northeast Service Inc. for 12 years.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Arthur of Arlington; one son, Jon Michael Arthur of Arlington; one daughter, Kari Michele Arthur of Arlington; three sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

Ross Allday
BRECKENRIDGE -- Ross Allday, 67, of Linden and formerly of Breckenridge, died Wednesday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Melton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rex Boggs officiating. Burial will be in Breckenridge Cemetery.
Mr. Allday was born in Cass County and was the widower of Toy Aline Jones Allday. He married Betty Moon in 1993 and retired from the U.S. Army. He worked as the sanitation superintendent for the city of Breckenridge. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Elks Lodge and American Legion.
Survivors include his wife of Linden; three daughters, Cheryl Norman and Debbie Gibson, both of Breckenridge, and Shelba Gosnell of Tyler; two sons, Michael Allday of Breckenridge and Lynn Gosnell of Farmersville; four stepdaughters, Judy Adams of Waxahachie, Paula Trussell of Red Oak, Janet Moon Maynard of Abilene and Robin Moon of Albany; two sisters, Ruth Helen Binagio of Groves and Martha Allday of Houston; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Senior Citizens and left at the funeral home.
Visitation will be from 6:30-7:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Mabel Mattie Nail Singletary
LEWISVILLE -- Mabel Mattie Nail Singletary, 95, formerly of Stamford, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Highland Cemetery in Stamford with the Rev. Jay Abernathy officiating, directed by Dalton & Son Funeral Home, and Tankersley Funeral Home of Stamford.
Mrs. Singletary was born in Fairlie and worked for Southwestern Bell for 40 years until retiring in 1967. She was a member of Stamford First Baptist Church and was the widow of Homer Singletary, whom she married in 1934 in Walters, Okla.
Survivors include one daughter, Patsy Savage of Lewisville; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Ione Young
ANSON -- Ione Young, 79, of Midland and formerly of Anson, died Tuesday at her home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Anson First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Holston officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home.
Mrs. Young was born in Rising Star and graduated from Potosi High School. She married Clarence Young in 1940 in Hamlin. She lived in Anson while working as a beautician in Hamlin. She also lived in Lockney and Floydada. She and her husband were houseparents for 10 years at West Texas Children's Home in Pyote until retiring in 1978. She moved to Midland in 1994 from Anson and was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Midland.
Survivors include her husband of Midland; one son, John Young of Midland; and two grandchildren.

Benjamin Franklin Watson
SNYDER -- Benjamin Franklin Watson, 81, died Wednesday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park with the Rev. John Besse officiating, directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater.
Mr. Watson was born in Girard and married Opal Medina in 1949 in Kermit. He was a retired welder of Cactus Drilling Co. and moved to Snyder in 1994 from Possum Kingdom.
Survivors include his wife of Snyder; three stepsons, Lloyd Knipe of Snyder, Bobby Knipe of Richmond, Va., and Max Knipe of Great Bend, Kan.; seven step grandchildren; 10 step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the Lloyd Knipe home.
The body will be at the funeral home until this morning.

Royce Clement
CISCO -- Royce Clement, 60, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Kimbrough Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Franklin Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Clement was born in Gorman and married Connie Hallmark in 1967 in Cisco. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the city of Cisco and was a member of Cisco Country Club and Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Cisco; one son, Justin Clement of Cisco; three daughters, Ladonna Clement, Vanessa Clement and Tammie Clement, all of Cisco; his mother, Velma Clement of Cisco; three sisters, Brenda Finley of Cisco, Shirley Clement of Dallas and Wanda Carey of Baytown; and two grandchildren.

John Harold Moon
STAMFORD -- John Harold Moon, 71, lifelong area resident, died Thursday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Stamford First Baptist Church with the Revs. Jay Abernathy and Troy Culpepper officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, directed by Tankersley Funeral Home.
Mr. Moon was born in Avoca and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Irene Gregory in 1945 in Stamford and was a retired salesman. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Stamford; two daughters, Christa Nell Figg of Los Lunas, N.M., and Georgia Sue Mitchell of Salado; his twin brother, Noel Darold Moon of Stamford; one sister, Viola Shelley of Aurora, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Evarsita Luna
KNOX CITY -- Evarsita Luna, 92, died Wednesday in a Munday nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Munday Assembly of God with Luis Campos officiating. Burial will be in Goree Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Luna was born in Bigfoot and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Assembly of God and was the widow of Catorino Luna, whom she married in Jourdanton.
Survivors include two daughters, Epifania Lopez and Benita Luico, both of Crookston, Minn.; two sons, Alvino Luna of Goree and Pat Luna of Las Vegas, N.M.; one sister, Consuelo Hernandez of Canyon; one brother, Romon Rodriquez of Jourdanton; 74 grandchildren; 161 great-grandchildren; and 26 great-great-grandchildren.
