Elmer H. Hamilton
Elmer H. Hamilton, 71, of Abilene, died Wednesday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 20, at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 U.S. Hwy. 277 South with the Rev. Mike Martin officiating. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 21, in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
Mr. Hamilton was born in Dallas. He married Norma Elliott on Nov. 27, 1946 in Dallas. He was a retired Air Force Senior Master Sergeant, having served 28 years in aircraft maintenance. He moved to Abilene 32 years ago. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Post 36, VFW, Cooties, and Masonic Lodge 559. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife of Abilene; one son, Gary W. Hamilton of Kalamazoo, Mich.; two daughters, Pamela Courtney of San Antonio and Marsha Knighton of Normal, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Linda N. Kiser
EASTLAND - Linda N. Kiser, 56, died Thursday in Dallas. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 20, at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Wright officiating. Burial will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 20, in Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie.
Mrs. Kiser was born in Youngstown, Ohio, and moved to Sulphur Springs as a child. She was a graduate of Arlington High School and married Mike Kiser on Oct. 9, 1960 in Arlington. She lived in Nocona and Wichita Falls prior to moving to Eastland in 1979. She was a homemaker and was active in PTA, Drill Team Boosters, Bluebirds, Daughters of the American Revolution, Thursday Afternoon Club, and was a volunteer for the Eastland Centennial Memorial Library. She was a member of the Bereclah Church.
Survivors include her husband of Eastland; one son, Kirk Kiser of Midland; one daughter, Lisa Carol Compton of Sherman; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Thelma Jackson
MILFORD - Thelma Jackson, 91, died Thursday in an Arlington hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in the Milford First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Wheatley officiating. Burial will be in Milford Cemetery, directed by Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors of Hillsboro.
Mrs. Jackson was born in Abilene. She was the widow of Archie D. Jackson, whom she married on Sept. 17, 1930 in Abilene. She had lived in Taylor County until 1970, in Hill County from 1970-1985, and in Milford since 1985. She was a member of the Milford First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter Janice Knight of Arlington; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three nephews.

Amelia 'Sarge' Hickman
STAMFORD - Amelia "Sarge" Hickman, 99, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services were Friday, June 18, at the Orient Street Church of Christ in Stamford with Chad Massie officiating. Burial was in Highland Memorial Cemetery, directed by Tankersley Funeral Home of Stamford.
Mrs. Hickman was born in Rhome and graduated from Stamford High School in 1917. She married Henry Clayton Hickman on Oct. 17, 1917 in Dallas. She was a retired Master Sergeant from the Air Force and served over 20 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Orient Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Loyd H. Hickman of Splendora; three nieces; and two nephews.

Helen Dean Moore
STAMFORD - Helen Dean Moore, 82, died Friday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 21, at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel in Stamford with the Rev. DeWayne Wolf officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Moore was born in Fort Worth. She married Ranson W. "Boomer" Moore in Fort Worth in 1948 and moved to Stamford. She was a retired nurse's aide. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include one sister, Lavern Ball of Agra, Okla; one grandson, Glen West of Stamford; and several nieces and nephews.

Lucy B. Hattox
DELEON - Lucy B. Hattox, 91, died Thursday in El Paso.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 21, in the DeLeon Church of Christ with Mitchell Greer officiating. Burial will be in DeLeon Cemetery, directed by Nowlin Funeral Home of DeLeon.
Mrs. Hattox was born in Cross Plains. She was the widow of Payne Hattox, whom she married in Sweetwater on July 3, 1937. She was a retired school teacher, and a former member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Texas State Teacher Association. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Tommy Hattox of Bellville; one daughter, Laverne Baker of Santa Teresa, N.M.; one sister, Jonnie Mae Burkman of Leuders; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Zetta Bynum Taylor
RISING STAR - Zetta Bynum Taylor, 88, died Thursday in a Brownwood nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 20, at May Cemetery with the Rev. Eddie Martin officiating, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Clinton, Ark. and had lived in Rising Star since 1965. She was the widow of Carl A. Taylor, whom she married on Dec. 25, 1934. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Rising Star.
Survivors include one daughter, Shannon Thornhill of May; one son, Dale Taylor of Lake Brownwood; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pat Sanders
CAMERON - Pat Sanders, 88, died Thursday at his residence.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 21, in the Cameron First Baptist Church, directed by Hillier Funeral Home of Bryan.
Mr. Sanders was born in Dadeville, Ala. He was a retired bookkeeper in the oil and gas industry. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Sanders of Cameron; one son, Thomas Sanders of Austin; one daughter, Jane Kerr of Salado; one sister, Elizabeth Johns of Houston; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Harvey J. Buckner
ALBANY - Harvey J. Buckner, 81, died Thursday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church with the Revs. John Tunnell, Don Clevenger, and Dewey Lamb officiating. Burial will be in Albany Cemetery, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home of Albany.
Mr. Buckner was born in Dale, TX. He was the widower of Susie Belle Newcomb Buckner and Bettie Lou Allen Buckner. During World War II he served three years in the Civilian Conservation Corps and four years in the U.S. Navy. He was formerly associated with American National Insurance Company and had operated several service stations. He was an ordained minister.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Sue Torres of Albany; five sisters, Juanita Hodges and Ferrell Roberts both of Lockhart, Irene Blizzard of Elgin, Ovella Tumlinson of Texas, and Vada Rackel of Houston; three brothers, Norman Buckner of Lockhart, Curtis Buckner of Center Point, and Elton Buckner of Austin; and six step-grandchildren.

Gordia Kenney
BRECKENRIDGE - Gordia Kenney, 86, died Thursday.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 21, in the Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, directed by Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home of Colleyville.
Mrs. Kenney was born in Mingus where she attended school. She attended college in Denton. She was the widow of Rollie Elton Kenney, whom she married on Nov. 25, 1931. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Ranger.
Survivors include two daughters, Joan Munnerlyn of Breckenridge and Jeanne Hewitt of Mayport, Fla.; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
