Mattie Adair
Mattie Adair, 88, of Abilene died Sunday at a local nursing center.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Tye Cemetery in Tye, directed by Abilene Funeral Home.
Mrs. Adair was born in Howard County, Ark., and moved from Paris, Tex., to Abilene in 1959. She was a homemaker and worked in the steam laundry business for several years. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include one brother, John Cleaver of Paris, and several nieces and nephews.

Kellie Farmer Hutchinson
Kellie Farmer Hutchinson, 38, of Abilene died Saturday at her home.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Oglesby officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Hutchinson was born in Abilene and attended school in Houston before moving to Del Rio in 1971, where she graduated from high school in 1979. She returned to Abilene in 1981 and was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She married Tim Hutchinson in 1987 in Abilene.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; one son, Leighton Brister of Abilene; one daughter, Candice Brister of Abilene; her mother, Dorthy Farmer of Albany; and two sisters, Melody Horn and Vicki Farmer, both of Abilene.

Audrey (Eileen) Mercer Barnes
Audrey (Eileen) Mercer Barnes, 57, of Abilene died Saturday at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy. 277 South, with Weldon Gann officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Barnes was born in Abilene and returned to Abilene from Mulberry, Fla., in 1985. She had been employed by Abilene State School since 1988 and was a member of North Park Church of Christ.
Survivors include her mother, Leta Mercer of Abilene; three daughters, Deborah Gomez, Terri Barnes and Janine Howard, all of Abilene; one brother, Clinton Mercer of Abilene; five sisters, Mary Hale of Clyde, Margaret Dunn and Martha Moss of Abilene, Loreta Luster of Buffalo Gap and Laura Alsdorf of Merkel; and one grandchild.
The family will be at the funeral home from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Howard Clay Rountree
EARLY - Services for Howard Clay Rountree, 85, of Abilene will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Reggie Schexnider officiating. Burial will be in Greenleaf Cemetery in Brownwood.
Mr. Rountree was born in Brown County and was a member of Lawn Baptist Church in Lawn. He was a 50-year-plus member of Lawn Masonic Lodge 1230 and a juvenile officer for Taylor and Nolan counties.
Survivors include four daughters, Patsy Warford of Austin, Ann Hearn of Gardendale, Kathleen Taylor of Granbury and Coleta Reed of Abilene; 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Charles Warren Christian
BROWNWOOD - Services for Charles Warren Christina, 77, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Riley of Electra officiating, assisted by Dr. Steve McMeans and the Rev. Dick Williams. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Mr. Christian was born in Richland Springs and was a member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church. He married Ruby Mae Proctor in Brownwood in 1946.
Survivors include his wife, of Brownwood; one son, Charles Christian of Temple; one daughter, Loma Blake of Brownwood; three brothers, one sister, nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Heart of Texas Baptist Encampment Harris, Barker and Knight Endowment Fund.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Doug Vineyard
SNYDER - Doug Vineyard, 66, of Hermleigh, where he retired after being U.S. postmaster for 39 years, died Saturday at a Midland hospital after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hermleigh Church of Christ with Wayne Horton officiating. Burial will be in Hermleigh Cemetery, directed by Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Vineyard was born in Hermleigh and was a member of Hermleigh Church of Christ. He married Dorothy Coan in 1950 in Hermleigh; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Peggy Matherly of Midland; one son, Tommy Vineyard of Edmond, Okla.; one sister, Nelda Kruger of Hermleigh; one brother, Don Vineyard of Snyder; and four grandchildren.

Helen Harris
BROWNWOOD — Helen Harris, 81, of Bangs died Monday at her home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in McDaniel Cemetery in Brown County with the Rev. Ken Green officiating, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mrs. Harris was born in Falls County and had lived in Bangs for 42 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Bangs First United Methodist Church. She married William Harris in 1937 in Falls County.
Survivors include her husband, of Bangs; two sons, Grandon Harris of Killeen and Barton Harris of Brownwood; two sisters, Glendene Dean of Austin and Betty Gibson of Waco; one brother, Laney McKee of Robinson; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Roy Fox
BRECKENRIDGE — Roy Fox, 79, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Johnny Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodson Cemetery.
Mr. Fox was born in Parker County and moved to Breckenridge in 1983 from Odessa. He was a truck driver and an Army veteran of World War II. He was affiliated with St. Paul United Methodist Church. He married Billie Clary in 1946 in Woodson.
Survivors include his wife, of Breckenridge; three sons, Kenneth Roy Fox of Argyle, Lee Fox of Clyde and John Edward Fox of Dallas; one sister, Faye Turner of Forsan; two brothers, Bob Fox of Odessa and Ray Fox of Breckenridge; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Jewell Wells
BROWNWOOD — Jewell Wells, 87, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will e at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Coleman City Cemetery in Coleman with the Rev. R.J. Elkins officiating, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wells was born in Moran and had lived in the Brownwood area most of her life. She was retired owner-operator of a service station in Bangs and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She married A.A. Wells in 1952 in Brownwood; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one grandson, two great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
