Bessie Dunbar
ASHDOWN, ARK. - Bessie Dunbar, 65, formerly of Bangs, died Monday in Bryan.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 25, at the New Testament Holiness Church with the Rev. Terry Summerlin, Ronnie White, and Annie Oliphant officiating, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Mrs. Dunbar was born in Plano. She married James Dunbar in Plano in 1951. She was a member of the New Testament Holiness Church in Dime Box and had worked with the ministry in Ashdown, Ark. She was the secretary of the Jesus New Covenant Church in Ashdown.
Survivors include her husband of San Angelo; two sons, Allan Eaton of Calif. and Luther Eaton of Fort Worth; three daughters, Peggy Sue Dunbar of Dallas, Gilda Walker of Bangs, and Elaine West of Dime Box; one brother, Eddie Stimpson Jr. of Plano; one sister, Ruth Stimpson of Edgewood; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Allie Louise Burdett
HAMLIN - Allie Louise Burdett, 51, died Wednesday in an Anson hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 25, at the Four Square Church with the Rev. Carlton Earp officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Funston, directed by Foster-Adams Funeral Home of Hamlin.
Mrs. Burdett was born in Corsicana and moved to Jones County as a child. She married Foy Burdett on April 26, 1975 in Anson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hamil Four Square Church.
Survivors include her husband of Hamlin; three sons, Jerry Prather of Abilene, Leslie "Tooter" Galloway of Corsicana, and Thomas Prather of Azle; seven daughters, Mary Beth Hime of Abilene, Lavonnna Jean Moore, Estell Howell, and Angela Howell of Ark., Tosha Burdett, Rachel Burdett, and Kayla Burdett of Hamlin; six brothers; four sisters; and 22 grandchildren.

Joseph Lee Easton
Joseph Lee Easton, 33, died Tuesday at a local residence.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 26, at the St. James United Methodist Church with the Revs. Curtis Cadenhead and Sue Rowlett officiating, directed by Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy. 277 South.
Mr. Easton was born in Terre Haute, Ind. He graduated from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls. He had been an U.S. Army Ranger for nine years and a deputy sheriff for Jones County. At the time of his death, he was employed as a sociologist with the Texas Department of Corrections.
Survivors include his wife Sheri Evatt of Abilene; one son, Seth Michael Trueblood Easton of Abilene; his parents, John R. and Janet L. Easton of Rockwall; one brother, John M. Easton of Rockwall; and one sister, Jana Ellen Easton of Tyler.
Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Charley F. Dunn
Charley F. Dunn, 77, of Tuscola, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 26, in the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Rev. Jimmy Griffith officiating. Burial will be in McBee Cemetery.
Mr. Dunn was a native of the Big Country and graduated from Abilene High School. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Ann O’Bar on Dec. 28, 1976 in Stamford. He retired from the U.S. Post Office after 30 years service and had also owned a barbershop in Abilene for many years. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 593 and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife of Tuscola; two daughters, Paula Vanbiervliet of Little Rock, Ark. and Jana Santibanez of Abilene; one stepdaughter, Debbie Ake of Tuscola; one sister, Bertha Griffith of Paint Creek; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to donor’s favorite charity.

Wright M. Dishman
MERKEL — Wright M. Dishman, 86, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 26, in the Starbuck Funeral Home Chapel in Merkel. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel.
Mr. Dishman was born in Sipe Springs in Callahan County. He was the widower of Annie Crawford Dishman, whom he married on Dec. 7, 1935 in Merkel. He attended Johnson’s Chapel School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a self-employed mechanic for many years. He taught the 12 year-old boys’ Sunday School Class at the Merkel First Baptist Church for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Irene Dalton of Wolfforth and Patricia Kay Ford of San Angelo; one sister, Inez Bradley of Merkel; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Frank Ramos Sr.
ANSON — Frank Ramos Sr., 88 died Wednesday at his home.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Oscar Del Rio officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home of Anson.
Mr. Ramos was born in Floresville and moved to Anson in 1950. He married Eusebia “Sadie” Ramirez on May 17, 1952 in Anson. He was a farmer and a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of Anson; ten sons, Frank Ramos Jr., Salvador Ramos, Louis Ramos, Terry Ramos, and Joe Ramos all of Anson, Trino Ramos and Richard Ramos both of Topeka, Kan., Ramiro Ramos of Arlington, Ramon Ramos of Garland, Paul Ramos of Abilene; four daughters, Tonya Munoz of Fort Worth, Linda Munoz of Anson, Becky Baiza and Ofelia Morgan both of Weatherford; one brother, Lalo Ramos of Anson; two sisters, Beatrice Herrera of Anson and Vivanna Sanchez of Corpus Christi; one half-brother, Gilbert Herrera of Milwaukee, Wisc.; six half-sisters, Mary Herrera, Jacob Herrera, Margie Cardenas, Santos Rodriguez, Dominca Salazar and Frances DeLeon all of Corpus Christi, 52 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

ASPERMONT — Jackie Forrest Samford Jr., 49, died Monday in a Graham hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 26, at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mickey Waggoner officiating. Burial will be in the Double Mountain Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Aspermont.
Mr. Samford was born in Rotan and graduated from Aspermont High School. He was a cook and a Baptist.
Survivors include his father, Jack Samford Sr. of Afton; one son, Timothy Curtis Samford of Olton; maternal grandmother, Willie Dee King of Aspermont; one brother, Michael Reed Samford of Lake Jackson; and one sister, Vickie Lynn King of Canyon.

Donald W. Ward
COLORADO CITY — Donald W. Ward, 66, of the Payne Community, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 26, in the First Baptist Church with Linvel Baker and Dr. Ted Spear officiating, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Ward was born in Colony, Okla. He married Fredine Theis on Nov. 24, 1964 in Las Vegas, Nev. He had lived in Mitchell County since 1990. He was a retired service supervisor for Dowell and a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Colorado City; one son, Leon Ward of Burkburnett; two daughters, Teresa Wieman of Glen Rose and Kellye Ward of Colorado City; one brother, Kenneth Ward of Forney; one sister, LaNita Davis of Mission; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or of the American Heart Association.
