Ola Moore
Ola Moore, 99, of Abilene died Saturday at a local convalescent center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with Dr. Tim McCall officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Moore was born in Lovelady and attended high school in Rotan. She was employed by McMurry College (now McMurry University) cafeteria for many years and was a pianist and songwriter.
She was a charter member of Southwest Park Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for more than 10 years.
She married Rufus B. Moore in 1915 in Rotan; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Thomas A. Moore of Abilene; one daughter, Gwen Cook of Jenks, Okla.; eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home from 6-7 p.m. today.

Noreta 'Reta' Backus Hubbard
Noreta "Reta" Backus Hubbard, 59, of Abilene, died Tuesday at her residence.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 2, in Elmwood Memorial Park with the Rev. James Teel officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Hubbard was born in Stamford. She was the widow of Bobby Gayle Hubbard. She had worked as a ticket agent for Continental Airlines for 20 years. She moved to Abilene from Rising Star in 1997. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include two brothers, Harold Backus of Abilene and Joe Howell of Hearne.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jimmie Cooke
NOODLE - Jimmie Cooke, 72, died Monday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 1, in the Merkel First Baptist Church with the Revs. Jimmy Griffith, Dick Griffith, and Robert Fred officiating. Burial will be in Brushy Cemetery in Haskell County, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home of Merkel.
Mr. Cooke was born in Phoenix, Ariz. He attended school in Goree and Throckmorton. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He married Lorraine Schaedler on April 4, 1959 in Tucson, Ariz. He was a self-employed truck driver for 40 years.
Survivors include his wife of Merkel; five sons, C. Michael Hill, Kelowna, BC, Sam D. Cooke, Delton, MI, John K. Hill of Galva, IL, James D. Hill of Mount Pleasant, MI, and Thomas G. Cooke of Merkel; three daughters, D. Gayle Behymer of Victoria IL, L. Joy Sage of Kalamazoo, MI, and Evelyn L. Morse of Merkel; 19 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Elsie E. Walker
Elsie E. Walker, 86, former longtime Abilene resident, died Sunday in Gallup, N.M.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 1, at the Crescent Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Chancellor officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Walker was born in Tanglewood. She was a resident of Abilene from 1951 until 1998, when she moved to Gallup. She was the widow of O.B. Walker, whom she married on March 24, 1934 in Georgetown. She had worked for the Abilene Independent School District Food Service Department for 11 years. She was a member of Crescent Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Ben J. Walker of Lytle and Harold Walker of Gallup, N.M.; two sisters, Marjorie Stromberg of Hutto and Jerry Webb of Austin; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Maud Carter
RULE - Maud Carter, 85, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Rule Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Hensley officiating, directed by McCauley-Robison Funeral Directors of Rule.
Mrs. Carter was born in Haskell County. She was the widow of Ray Carter. She was a homemaker and a member of the Rule First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Lanham Ray Carter of West Plains, Mo., and Louis Carroll Carter of Rule; one sister, Loree Alcorn of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and two grandchildren.

HERMLEIGH - Lucia Molina, 71, died Tuesday in a Lubbock hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 1, at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church with the Rev. Jerry Latham officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at the Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home of Snyder.
Mrs. Molina was born in Laredo. She married Tony Molina Sr. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband of Hermleigh; three daughters, Lupe Sauceda, Alice Alderete, and Norma Garcia, all of Snyder; two sons, Tony Molina Jr. of Hermleigh and Johnny Molina of Houston; three sisters; four brothers; and eight grandchildren.

Maudie Bramhall
SAN ANGELO - Maudie Bramhall, 87, formerly of Abilene, died Monday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 1, at Elmwood Memorial Park with Borden Manly and Roy Shake officiating, directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Mrs. Bramhall was born and raised in Red River County, where she married Joe Bramhall on Jan. 14, 1929. She moved to Abilene in 1953 and operated a day care center from her home. She was a licensed foster parent for the State of Texas and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Billy Joe Bramhall of Austin and Bobby Wayne Bramhall of San Angelo; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:30-7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Freddie Crites
COLORADO CITY - Freddie Crites, 87, died Tuesday in a local care center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeffery Davison officiating. Burial will be in the Colorado City Cemetery.
Mr. Crites was born in Pioneer. He was the widower of Bonnie Marsh Crites, whom he married in 1945 in Baird. He had been a resident of Colorado City since 1958. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a retired truck driver. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Little of Kingwood; one brother, Wes Crites of Blossom; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Eileen Martin
SNYDER - Eileen Martin, 82, died Sunday in a Kaufman nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the 37th Street Church of Christ in Snyder with Homer Anderson and Bill Looney officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Gardens, directed by Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home of Snyder.
Mrs. Martin was born in Kimball County. She was the widow of Samuel Barber Martin, whom she married on Oct. 24, 1937 in Abilene. She owned and operated Martin Jewelry in Snyder for 20 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ
Survivors include two daughters, Raleen Sloan of Kaufman and Suzanne Brown of Victoria; one son, Sam Martin of Albuquerque, N.M; two sisters, Vivian Reese of Snyder and Bess Cardwell of Junction; one brother, Raleigh Reese of San Saba; and seven grandchildren.
