Hugh Ronnie Lincoln
HAMLIN — Hugh Ronnie Lincoln, 55, died Saturday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at First Baptist Church with Dr. Tracy Watson officiating. Burial will be in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, directed by Foster-Adams Funeral Home of Hamlin.
Mr. Lincoln was born in Salty and graduated from Thorndale High School in 1961. He married Shirley Long in 1964 in Anson. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star. He moved to Hamlin in 1969 and owned and operated Lincoln Trucking for 30 years. He was the post commander of the Hamlin Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6014 at the time of his death. He had served for 18 years on the Hamlin Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, of Hamlin; one son, Russell Hugh Lincoln of New Braunfels; one daughter, Sheila Martinez of Arlington; four brothers, Ernest Lincoln of Florence, Billy Lincoln of Rockdale, Elmore Lincoln of Thorndale, and Bobby Lincoln of Liberty Hill; three sisters, Janie Zercher of San Antonio, Shirley Benard of Austin, and Sue Simpson of Katy; and one grandchild.

Paula Sue Myers Little
KNOX CITY — Paula Sue Myers Little, 52, of Kerrville and formerly of Knox City, died Friday at her home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lyndol Cypert officiating. Burial will be in Knox City Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Little was born in Knox City and graduated from Knox City High School in 1965. She graduated from Commercial Business College in Abilene and was a nursing assistant for 30 years in Abilene and the Veterans Administration hospital in Kerrville. She was a member of the Baptist church in Kerrville. She married Marvin Little in Abilene.
Survivors include her husband, of Kerrville; her parents, Pauline and Kenneth Myers of Knox City; one brother, Dr. Jerry Myers of Wichita Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Knox City 79529; or to the donor’s favorite charity.
The body will be at the funeral home Tuesday and until service time Wednesday.

George ‘Curly’ Thacker
BROWNWOOD — George C. “Curly” Thacker, 89, died Saturday at a Bellville hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clarence Ray Smith officiating. Burial will be in Cleveland Cemetery in Coleman County.
Mr. Thacker was born in Paris, Tex., and had lived in Coleman before moving to Brownwood in 1947. He was a Methodist and was a mechanic for many years in the Brownwood area. He married Sealy Smith in 1927 in Brown County; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, Donnie Thacker of Brownwood and Ronnie Thacker of Houston; one daughter, Clarene Chaney of Houston; three brothers, Fred Thacker and David Chapel, both of May, and Junior Thacker of Brownwood; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Patsy Ann ‘Pat’ Phillips
SNYDER — Patsy Ann “Pat” Phillips, 61, of Ira and Lake J.B. Thomas, died Sunday at an Odessa hospital after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Leroy Ochoa officiating. Burial will be in Ira Cemetery.
Mrs. Phillips was born in Donna and was a homemaker and a member of Knapp Baptist Church in Ira. She married Dixon Phillips in 1954 in Edcouch; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Marla Scott of Odessa and Annie Greene of Ira; her stepfather, Dean Weber of Alamo; one brother, Ronnie Hatton of McAllen; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will have lunch at noon today at the Ira Community Center.

Elizabeth Sarles
BROWNWOOD — Elizabeth J. Sarles, 84, died Saturday at a local nursing home.
Private graveside services are planned with Dr. Norbert Peil officiating, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sarles was born in Brownwood, where she lived all her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Union Presbyterian Church. She married Blake Dave Sarles in 1938 in Yorktown; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Jeanne Werner of Fredericksburg; one stepson, Dave Sarles of Houston; one stepdaughter, Lou Ann McDowell of Dallas; one brother, the Rev. John Johnson of Georgetown; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Charles Garrison
BROWNWOOD — Charles F. Garrison, 86, died Sunday at a Bangs nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Rocky Creek Cemetery in Brown County with the Rev. Richard Hetzel officiating, directed by Heartland Funeral Home.
Mr. Garrison was born in West Plains, Miss., and moved to Brownwood in 1985. He was a member of Lake Brownwood United Methodist Church. He married Vivian Lessiston in 1946 in Lovington, N.M.; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include one brother, Seth Garrison of Odessa; two sisters, Marie Harper of Fort Worth and Sarah Tharp of Houston; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Clyde M. Herrington
Clyde M. Herrington, 84, died Sunday at a local nursing center.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, at First Central Presbyterian Church with Dr. Cliff Stewart and Rev. Scott Simpson officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Herrington was born in El Paso and graduated from Abilene High School. She graduated from McMurry College (now University) in 1936. She had earned two Masters Degrees from Hardin-Simmons University where she was an English instructor from 1953 to 1960. She received the Master of Education Degree in 1953 and the Master of Arts Degree in English in 1960. She was a Professor of English at McMurry College from 1960 to 1981 when she retired. She had lived in Abilene since 1928. She was the widow of Elgin Herrington, whom she married in Abilene in 1936. She was a member of the Martha Circle of First Central Presbyterian Church, Athenian Study Club, and Abilene Chapter 30 Order of the Eastern Star where she was a past Worthy Matron. She was also a member of Alpha Ki, Sigma Tau Delta, and Delta Beta Epsilon, which she sponsored at McMurry for a number of years.
Survivors include one son, Rev. James Robert Herrington of Newark, Del.; one daughter, Mary Ann Teague of Houston; one brother, Dr. William Harvey McKee of El Paso; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, at the church.

Angelina F. Hernandez
Angelina F. Hernandez, 76, of Abilene, died Sunday in a local nursing center.
Rosay will be at 7 p.m. today at the Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, 3349 North 12th St. Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Andrew Kolzow officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Hernandez was born in Big Spring and moved to Abilene from Wichita Falls in 1945. She married Manuel Hernandez in Wichita Falls in 1945. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church as well as the Guadalupanas and Crusillista Catholic Sorority.
Survivors include her husband of Abilene; one son, Julian Hernandez of Merkel; one daughter, Linda Ybarra of Lewisville; two sisters, Pauline Patino of Haltom City and Maggie Harris of Wichita Falls; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will follow the rosary at the funeral home.

Maedell Crossley Meredith
EASTLAND — Maedell Crossley Meredith, 81, died Sunday at her residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Marc Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Eastland City Cemetery.
Mrs. Meredith was born in Eastland, and raised in Eastland and Olden. She married Forrest Fame Meredith in Tijuana, Mexico on Sept. 2, 1946. They lived in California )where she worked for the U.S. Government for several years), Oregon, Monahans and Watauga before moving back to Eastland in 1976. She was a member of the Friendship Class at the First United Methodist Church, The Olden F.C.E. Club, and The Bullock Quilting Club.
Survivors include one brother, Arthur E. Crossley of Olden; and several nieces and nephews.
