Patsy Orr
VERNON Patsy Orr, 65, died Thursday in an Arlington hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday July 10 at Wilbarger Street Church of Christ with Don Kleppe and Jay Hanley officiating. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery, directed by Sullivan Funeral Home of Vernon.
Mrs. Orr was born in Big Spring. She married Robert Orr on Aug. 13, 1955 in Abilene. She graduated from Abilene Christian High School and Abilene Christian University. She had taught school in Vernon and Austin. She had been a resident of Vernon since 1955. She was a member of the Wilbarger Street Church of Christ, Yamparika Club, American Association of University Women, various teacher organizations, and the current historian of the Red River Valley Museum Guild.
Survivors include her husband of Vernon; two sons, R. Douglas Orr of Fort Worth and James M. Orr of McKinney; her mother, Madge Etter of Abilene; two brothers, Don Etter of Abilene and Frank Etter Jr. of Roswell, N.M.; and seven grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Wilbarger Street Church of Christ, Red River Valley Museum, Carnegie City-County Library or the American Cancer Society.

Annie Marie Hufstutler
COMANCHE Annie Marie Hufstutler, 85, died Wednesday.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at the Hall & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Comanche with the Revs. Don Longoria, Scott Carley, and Gary Day officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche.
Mrs. Hufstutler was born in Hico. She was the widow of Brady Hufstutler, whom she married on Oct. 3, 1931. She was a retired nurse and had worked at the Western Hills Care Center for 15 years. She was a member of the East Side Baptist Church and had been a resident of Comanche since 1939.
Survivors include four daughters, Ella Louise Stacy of Fort Worth, Bobbie Nell Pierce of Hico, Catherine Ross of Odessa, and Francine Partin of Priddy; one son, Roy Hufstutler of Comanche; four sisters, Nannie Hogan of Waco, Margaret Hogan of Fort Worth, and Mildred Hunter and Dorothy McCoy, both of Hico; two brothers, Presley Bullard of Benbrook and Billy Joe Bullard of Hico; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Melvin Patterson
BALLINGER Melvin Patterson, 95, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 11, at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ferris Akins officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger, directed by Rains-Seale Funeral Home of Ballinger.
Mr. Patterson was born in Wingate. He served as the Postmaster for Ballinger for many years. He was a member of the Ballinger First Baptist Church, Ballinger Rotary, and the Ballinger Masonic Lodge 643.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Watkins of Parker, Colo. and Sandra Winberg of Austin; one brother, Marvin Patterson of Ballinger; one sister, Clara Patton of Ballinger; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Edith Virginia Shook
SWEETWATER Edith Virginia Shook, 83, died Thursday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 11, at the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Allen Brooks officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Mrs. Shook was born in Wingate and was a graduate 1933 of Wingate High School where she was the salutatorian. She married William Morris Shook on July 19, 1932 in Carlsbad, N.M. She had lived in Sweetwater since 1934. She became an LVN in 1964 and was involved in nursing home administration. She was a Methodist.
Survivors include her husband of Sweetwater; one daughter, Barbara Geurin of Cloud Croft, N.M.; two sons, Charles Shook and Joe Bob Shook of El Paso; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Agnes C. Dye
GARLAND Agnes C. Dye, 73, died Wednesday in a Dallas hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at the Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Guthridge officiating, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dye was born in Linhart, Pa. She was the widow of Billie Gene Dye, whom she married on July 27, 1950 in Sacramento, Calif. She was a registered nurse and had been the Director of Nurses at a Pittsburgh hospital for ten years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Garland.
Survivors include two daughters, Claudia Fouts of Wylie and Carolyn Dye of Garland; one brother, Michael Rebar of Carvallis, Ore.; four sisters, Irene Reynolds of Camp Hill, Pa., Mary Kurimsky of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Kim Rebar and Margie Benzie both of San Diego, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Rusty Crane
BAIRD Rusty Crane, 22, died Wednesday near Jayton as the result of an accident.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Baird First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Ross Cemetery, directed by Parker Funeral Home of Baird.
Mr. Crane was born in Abilene. He had lived in Baird for 17 years and was a graduate of Baird High School, where he participated in varsity baseball, football, and track. He had been employed by Nobels Road Construction.
Survivors include his parents Regina and Jeff Barton of Baird, and Dennis Crane of Eula; one brother, Greg Crane of Abilene; one half-sister, April Crane of Eula; his grandparents, Melba and Alton Jordan of Abilene, Maurice Ford of Tucson, Ariz., and Norma and Howard Barton of Baird; one nephew; and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Virgie Mae Brown
WOODSON Virgie Mae Brown, 87, died Thursday in a Throckmorton hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Breckenridge with the Rev. Jimmy Stiles officiating. Burial will be in Woodson Cemetery.
Mrs. Brown was born in Hasse County and was a lifelong resident of Woodson. She married Silas Brown on Aug. 10, 1933 in Breckenridge. She retired from the Throckmorton Hospital in 1971. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of Woodson; two daughters, Delores Peacock and Martha Brown both of Woodson; two sons, Ed Red Brown of Woodson and Gerald Brown of Graham; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Vernon D. Phillips
CROSS PLAINS Vernon D. Phillips, 66, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 10, in the Rising Star Church of Christ with Jim Nash and Richard Massey officiating. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery, directed by Higginbotham Funeral Home of Cross Plains.
Mr. Phillips was born in Eastland County. He married Glenda Boyd on Jan. 2, 1955 in Owens. He was a farmer and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of Cross Plains; three sons, Glen Dale Phillips of Alpine, and Howard Phillips and Allen Phillips, both of Cross Plains; two brothers, Homer Phillips Jr. of Stephenville and Bobby Phillips of Eldorado; and two sisters, Minnie Roberts of Copperas Cove and Nancy Wolf of Midland.

Thelma Evans Reddell
Thelma Evans Reddell, 94, a longtime Abilene resident, died Thursday in a Merkel nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory with the Rev. Clark Williams officiating. Graveside services will be in Aspermont Cemetery.
Mrs. Reddell was born in Patrick in McLennan County and had lived near Aspermont. She moved to Arkansas and later returned to Swenson. She attended school in Arkansas, Swenson and Haskell. She was the widow of Franklin Austin "Jake" Reddell, whom she married on Dec. 3, 1924 in Haskell. She lived in Spur, Rochester and Cross Plains prior to moving to Abilene in 1944. She worked as a telephone operator in Rochester for a number of years. She was an active genealogist and published Evans, Americans of Royal Descent. She was a fifth generation Texan and a descendent of a defender of the Alamo. She was a homemaker and a Methodist. She was a member of the Magna Charta, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Abilene Genealogical Society.
Survivors include three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Walker Hargrove
HAMLIN - Walker Hargrove, 91, died Thursday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Foster-Adams Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Brigham officiating. Burial will be in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Hargrove was born in Cross Plains. He married Jewel Payne on Dec. 24, 1929 in Callahan County. He moved to Hamlin in 1932 where he worked for General Crude Oil Company until his retirement in 1971. At the age of 83, he made a hole-in-one at the Hamlin Country Club and had been a pitcher of the General Crude Oilers. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Hamlin; two daughters, Jo Riddle and Brenda Helmuth, both of Hamlin; one brother, Alvin Hargrove of Cross Plains; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
