Vernon Vincent Houck
Vernon Vincent Houck, 81, died Monday in Abilene.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Harland Birdwell officiating, directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Mr. Houck grew up in Vernon and lived in California for several years. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in the late 1940s. He worked worked as a truck driver in Anchorage for 50 years and was a member of the Alaska Teamsters Union. He married Lula Culbertson in 1963 and moved to Abilene in 1997. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two sisters, Mary Rice of Abilene and Madeline McCready of Mission Viejo, Calif.; one brother, Leo Houck of Karnack; and several nieces and nephews.

John Boyd 'Pa' Kincaid
ALBANY -- John Boyd "Pa" Kincaid, 90, formerly of Lueders, died Tuesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Anson with David Mallory officiating. Burial will be in Clear Fork Cemetery in Lueders.
Mr. Kincaid was born in Ballinger and lived in Lueders for many years. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He farmed in Lueders and worked for the city's water department until retiring in 1973. He moved to Abilene in 1984 and Albany in 1996. He was a member of Lueders Church of Christ and was the widower of Vera Mae Underwood Kincaid, whom he married in 1942 in Lueders.
Survivors include two sons, Johnny Kincaid of Abilene and J.B. Kincaid of California; two daughters, Maxine Grissom of Hawley and Gearldine Edwards of Albany; 10 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Emma Elizabeth Fields
CISCO -- Emma Elizabeth Fields, infant, died Monday in an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Turner officiating, directed by Chambers-Wilcox Funeral Directors.
Emma was born in Abilene.
Survivors include her parents, Rex and Jill Siewert Fields of Cisco; one sister, Rebekah Fields of Cisco; her maternal grandparents, Ron and Sharon Knaus of Abilene; her paternal grandparents, Ted and Penny Fields of Cisco; three aunts and one uncle; and several other relatives.
Memorials may be sent to Cisco First United Methodist Church.

Calvin Tucker
BROWNWOOD -- Calvin Tucker, 77, formerly of Ramona, Okla., died Monday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Friend Church in Ramona, Okla. Burial will be in Romona Cemetery, directed by Arnold Moore Funeral Home. Local arrangements were made by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Mr. Tucker was born in Oolagah, Okla., where he attended school, and served with the U.S. Army. He worked as a laborer and moved to Harker Heights in 1975 from Ramona, Okla.
Survivors include one brother, Kenneth Wayne Tucker of Brownwood; two sisters, Ruth Ann Hodge of Independence, Kan., and Lula May Cochran of Brownwood; and several nieces and nephews.

Zora Moore
COMANCHE -- Zora Moore, 91, died Tuesday in a De Leon hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hall & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Van Christian and Jerry Huffman officiating. Burial will be in Stag Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Moore was born in May and lived in Comanche County most of her life. She taught school in her early years and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was the widow of Rance Moore, whom she married in 1926.
Survivors include one daughter, Jessie Carroll of Comanche; one brother, George Reynolds of Los Angeles; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.

LaVerne Story
LaVerne D. Story, 76, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Highland Church of Christ with Bill Nash and David Fry officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
A teacher at Robert Lee, Gorman, Abilene High and Abilene Christian High School, Mrs. Story earned both bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Abilene Christian University. She was born in Wapanucka, Okla., and grew up in Munday. She earned her bachelor's degree in 1940 and master's degree in 1942 and moved to Abilene in 1956, marrying Claude Story in 1956. After retiring, she worked in the ACU credit union. She was a member of Highland Church of Christ, where she headed Cradle Roll Nursery. She was chairwoman of West Texas Junior Miss Scholarship since its inception in 1985 and a foster parent of infants for many years. She was past Woman of the Year and past president of American Business, Women's Association of Western Horizons Chapter.
Survivors include one daughter, Martha Roppe of Abilene; one son, James "Randy" Randall Story of San Antonio; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:30-7:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.

David Milner Manahan
David Milner Manahan, 48, died Saturday.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Potosi Cemetery with Paige Baize officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Highway 277 South.
Mr. Manahan was born in Abilene and graduated from Wylie High School before attending Texas A&M University. He was a self-employed rancher and a member of First Baptist Church in Merkel.
Survivors include two sons, Roy Hurd Manahan of Christoval and Cole Davis Manahan of Abilene; one sister, Cathy Warrington of Palestine; and a niece.

N.R. 'Junior' Densman
COLEMAN -- N.R. "Junior" Densman, 69, died Friday in a Coleman hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Santa Anna Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Robinett, directed by Walker Funeral Home.
Born in Buckeye, Mr. Densman married Dorothy Snow in Santa Anna in 1948. A retired welder, he lived most of his life in Coleman and Coleman County.
Survivors include his wife of Coleman; four sons, Ricky Densman of Abilene and Jackie Densman, Danny Densman and Michael Densman, all of Coleman; seven grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Luches John 'Boots' Faulkenberry
WEATHERFORD -- Luches John "Boots" Faulkenberry, 80, died Friday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in McCaulley Cemetery, directed by Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel.
A veteran of World War II, Mr. Faulkenberry served in France and Germany. He was born in McCaulley and was a member of McCaulley Baptist Church. A diesel mechanic for most of his life, after retiring he owned and managed a farm in Hamilton.
Survivors include one son, Maurice Faulkenberry of Houston; seven sisters, Velma Johnson of Abilene, Lena Rook of Fort Worth, Agnes Hutson of Fort Worth, Hallie Stovall of Tyler, Bessie Burnett of Muenster, Wanda Threatt of Rhome and Jenny Church of Weatherford; two brothers, Lee Faulkenberry of Adell and Chess Faulkenberry of Brock; and two grandchildren.

Mildred Pietzsch
SWEETWATER -- Mildred L. Pietzsch, 72, died Saturday in Sweetwater.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Salem Lutheran Church in Roscoe with the Rev. Keith Kreitzer officiating. Burial will be in Roscoe Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Roscoe.
Born in Kaufman County, Mrs. Pietzsch lived in Nolan County since 1927. She graduated from Newman High School and married Wilbert E. Pietzsch in Roscoe in 1947. She was a retired secretary with the housing authority and a member of First Salem Lutheran. She was active with Sun Village and a member of VFW Auxiliary, Sweetwater American Legion Auxiliary and B&PW.
Survivors include one son, Ronnie Pietzsch of Colorado City; one daughter, Linda Tidwell of Abilene; one sister, Jessie Ray Bell of Lubbock; one brother, Sammy Eugene Hughes of Kemp; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Shirley Bell
BEDFORD -- Shirley (Mrs. Joe) Bell, 82, died Friday in a Bedford hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Henderson Funeral Home Chapel in Santa Anna. Burial will be in Santa Anna Cemetery.
Mrs. Bell was born in Davis, Okla., and lived in the Dallas and Bedford area since 1946. She was a dietitian with the school system and a member of the Christian church.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Thornton of Arlington; two sons, Richard Bell of Hurst and Larry Davis of Dallas; four sisters, Eugenia Proper of New Castle, Colo., Rea Grigsby of San Antonio, Shasta Toms of Lakey and Jean Poore of Dallas; one brother, Ellsworth Gillum of Othenia, Ore.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
