Simon Reyna
COLORADO CITY - Simon Reyna, 81, died Thursday.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 12, in St. Ann's Catholic Church with the Rev. Ray Wilhelm officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell County Cemetery. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 10, and Sunday, July 11, at the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel in Colorado City.
Mr. Reyna was born in Brownsville and had been a resident of Colorado City since 1960. He married Matiana Tamez on Nov. 8, 1937 in Runge. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a retired farm laborer and a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of Colorado City; three sons, Santiago Reyna of Bovina, and Richard Reyna and Henry Reyna, both of Colorado City; two daughters, Baleriana Garcia of Raleigh, N.C. and Felicita Ramirez of San Antonio; three sisters, Carmen Ramirez of Sinton, Fidela Rosette of Corpus Christi, and Eufemia Diaz of Aransas Pass; 22 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Lena Belle Jones
RANGER - Lena Belle Jones, 99, died Thursday in an Eastland hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Edwards Funeral Home with the Revs. Jerry Speer and Elizabeth Kugel officiating.
Mrs. Jones was born in McKinney and moved to Ranger in 1917. She worked for the Ranger Telephone Company, and also for the Social Science Laboratories and Gerald Dugan Gulf Corporation. She was the widow of Thelbert Duffer Jones, whom she married on Sept. 24, 1922. She lived in the Brownwood area for several years, where her husband was in the ranching business. She returned to Ranger in 1941. She was a member of the Mesquite and Rusk Street Church of Christ and The Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include one son, James O. Jones of Ranger; one daughter, Nelma Jean Ratliff of Ranger; and two grandchildren.

Eugene D. Stevens
Eugene D. Stevens, 85, former resident of Abilene, died Friday at his residence in Big Spring.
Services will be Monday, July 12, at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Revs. Ronnie Newton and Jack Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Fort Phantom Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Stevens was born in Funston and lived in Abilene for 30 years before moving to Big Spring in 1994. He married Alice Craib on Feb. 27, 1934 in Abilene. He worked as a yardman at Abilene Livestock Auction for 20 years. He also worked for the City of Abilene and the State of Alabama. He was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Big Spring; one son, Robert Stevens of Fountain, Fla.; two daughters, Susie Yancey and Barbara Thigpen, both of Big Spring; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

William 'Bill' Myrick
William "Bill" Myrick, 53, died Friday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, at Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Kevin Kennedy officiating, directed by Elmwood Funeral Home.
Mr. Myrick was born in Norfolk, Va. and graduated from Grand Prairie High School. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He moved to Abilene in 1987 from San Diego, Calif. and had been employed by Allsup's Convenience Stores, Inc.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley A. Myrick of Abilene; one sister, Patricia Etherington of McKinney; and one brother, James Myrick of Abilene.

Bill J. Bryant
MIDLAND - Bill J. Bryant, 74, died Thursday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 12, at the Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene with the Rev. Sue Rowlett officiating, directed by Pipkin Funeral Home of Midland.
Mr. Bryant was born in Winters and graduated from Winters High School. He was a pharmacist's mate in the U.S. Navy. He married Mary Dalton on Aug. 3, 1957 in Abilene and they moved to Midland. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of Midland; one daughter, Jan Gilbow of Bowie; and three grandchildren.

Minnie Belle McIntire Voss Barron
BROWNWOOD - Minnie Belle McIntire Voss Barron, 80, died Saturday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Shields Cemetery in Coleman County, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Mrs. Barron was born in Bell County and had lived most of her life in Brownwood. She was the widow of Eddie Paul Voss. She married R.L. Barron in 1978. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband of Brownwood; one son, Steven Voss of San Angelo; two daughters, Pauline Talley of Longview and Ginger Voss of Georgia; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Benny Sue Lancaster Stewart
DE LEON - Benny Sue Lancaster Stewart, 68, died Saturday in an Andrews hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, at the Nowlin Funeral Home Chapel in DeLeon with the Rev. Jackie Auvenshine officiating. Burial will be in DeLeon Cemetery.
Mrs. Stewart was born in DeLeon. She married James E. Stewart on March 17, 1993 in Marathon. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband of Andrews; her father, Frank Lancaster of DeLeon; three daughters, Claudia Sue Duncan of Dallas, Teresa Gayle Griffin of Andrews, and Yalanda Joyce Sharp of Lake Elsnor, Calif.; two half-brothers, Kenneth Lancaster of Brownwood and Walter Earl Dickie of Midland; and five grandchildren.

Ed Hargrove
ANSON - Ed Hargrove, 63, died Saturday at his home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, at the Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Anson with the Rev. Tom Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Prairie View Cemetery.
Mr. Hargrove was born in Hopkinsville, Ken. And moved to Vernon in 1954. He moved to Anson in 1969 where he was a self-employed aerial applicator. He married Mary Collins on May 10, 1985 in Anson. He was an FAA inspector and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife of Anson; one daughter, Amy Vaughn of Vernon; one stepdaughter, Jana Shifflett of Anson; one stepson, Matthew Shifflet of Anson; one sister, Frances Wilborn of Artesia, N.M.; and three grandchildren.

Major (Ret.) Gary R. Morris
ROUND ROCK - Major (Ret.) Gary R. Morris, 63, formerly of Abilene, died Thursday following a lengthy illness.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, in the Mount Moriah Cemetery, directed by Freeman Funeral Home of Kansas City, Mo.
Mr. Morris graduated from Southeast High School in Kansas City, Mo. and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years service.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Pat Cranor Morris; six children, Phil Morris, Dee Brink, Eulene Walker, Melinda Breeding, Robert Morris, and Carol Suckow; three sisters, Virginia Morrison of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; Charlene Conrad of Overland Park, Kan., and Linda Blair of Knoxville, Tenn.; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, July 12, at the funeral home.

Varner McWilliams
LUBBOCK - Varner McWilliams, 88, died Friday in a local medical center.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, July 12, in the Highland Baptist Church with Dr. Stan Blevins officiating. Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. in the East Mound Cemetery in Matador, directed by Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home of Lubbock.
Mr. McWilliams was born in Whiteflat in Motley County. He married Lenna Buchanan on June 8, 1938 in Eastland. He had been a resident of Lubbock since 1960. He received his Bachelor's of Science degree from Texas Tech in 1939. He had worked for the Texas Department of Agriculture and was also a farmer. He was a 50-year member of the Matador Masonic Lodge and a member of the Fisherman's Sunday School Class at Highland Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Lubbock; two daughters, Gail King of Frisco and Glynda Groves of Abilene; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
