William ‘Bill’ Myrick
William “Bill” Myrick, 53, died Friday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Kevin Kennedy officiating, directed by Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy. 277 South.
Mr. Myrick was born in Norfolk, Va., and graduated from Grand Prairie High School. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He moved to Abilene in 1987 from San Diego, Calif., and had been employed by Allsup’s Convenience Stores, Inc.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley A. Myrick of Abilene; one sister, Patricia Etherington of McKinney; and one brother, James Myrick of Abilene.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Elsie May Russell
Elsie May Russell, 72, a longtime Abilene resident, died Saturday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gospel Tabernacle with the Revs. Joel Mooneyham, Eugene Park, Homer Patton, C.C. Sheppard and B.J. Sheppard officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Russell was born in Quanah and graduated from high school in Clarksville. She had lived in Abilene since 1948 and worked as a nurse’s aide for 20 years. She retired after eight years as nurse’s aide at Coronado Nursing Home and was a member of Gospel Tabernacle. She married Lendon Russell in 1948 in Abilene; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Jackie Lynn Tutt of Clyde and Tammy May Matthys of Abilene; two brothers, Homer Patton of Fort Worth and Joseph Patton of Hesperia, Calif.; two sisters, Ollie D. Milsap of Fort Worth and Alice E. Woody of Cisco; four grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Ricardo Martinez Perez
Ricardo Martinez Perez, 36, of Abilene died Saturday at a local hospital.
A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. today at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, 3349 N. 12th. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Richard Jimenez officiating.
Mr. Perez was born in Abilene, graduated from Abilene High School and attended McMurry University. He was a salesman for Frontier Motors and a member of Living Word Christian Center.
Survivors include his wife, Claudia Sanchez of Abilene; three daughters, Misty Blue Perez, Ariel Perez and Thalia Perez, all of Abilene; his parents, Enrique and Christina Perez of Abilene; and three brothers, Henry Perez, Robert Perez and Eugene Perez, all of Abilene.
The family will be at the funeral home following the prayer service today.

Eugene D. Stevens
Eugene D. Stevens, 85, former resident of Abilene, died Friday at his residence in Big Spring.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Revs. Ronnie Newton and Jack Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Fort Phantom Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Stevens was born in Funston and lived in Abilene for 30 years before moving to Big Spring in 1994. He worked as a yardman at Abilene Livestock Auction for 20 years. He also worked for the city of Abilene and the state of Alabama. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He married Alice Craib in 1934 in Abilene.
Survivors include his wife, of Big Spring; one son, Robert Stevens of Fountain, Fla.; two daughters, Susie Yancey and Barbara Thigpen, both of Big Spring; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Florence Jane Ladner
WINTERS — Florence Jane Ladner, 92, of Tuscola and formerly of Gulfport, Miss., died Saturday in Tuscola.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Reiman North Funeral Home Chapel in Gulfport with the Rev. Dale Funderburk officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Gardens Cemetery in Gulfport.
Ladner was born in Clinton, La., and moved to Gulfport as a child. She was a partner in Ladner Refrigeration and a member of the PTA and of Grace Memorial Baptist Church in Gulfport. She married Horace Ladner Sr. in 1929 in Gulfport; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Don Ladner of Tuscola and H.C. Ladner Jr. of Gulfport; one daughter, Barbara Jane Lee of Zachary, La.; two brothers, Arvah McClendon of Gulfport and J.C. McClendon Jr. of Biloxi, Miss.; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Debra Criswell Moorehouse
BENJAMIN — Debra Criswell Moorhouse, 40, died Saturday at a Wichita Falls hospital after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Benjamin Community Center with the Revs. Virgil Ichtertz and Jack Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Benjamin Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Moorhouse was born in Spur and graduated from high school in Guthrie. She had lived in Benjamin about five years and was secretary for the Benjamin Independent School District. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Benjamin. She married Michael Moorhouse in 1979 in Seymour.
Survivors include her husband, of Benjamin; her parents, Bert and Kay Criswell of Guthrie; one son, Will Moorhouse; three daughters, Jessica Moorhouse, Elizabeth Moorhouse and Lynne Moorhouse, all of Benjamin; two brothers, Rickey Criswell and Van Criswell, both of Guthrie; and grandmothers Cybil Hensley of Slaton and Mamie Criswell of Jayton.

August Paul Schkade
ALBANY — August Paul Schkade, 88, died Saturday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Donald P. Loeschen officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home.
Mr. Schkade was born near Albany and attended school on the Huskey Ranch and at Concordia Lutheran Academy in Austin, graduating in 1931. He attended junior college in Winfield, Kan., and returned to Albany in 1933. He farmed, raised cattle and was an independent oil operator. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He married Margaret Mickan in 1938 in Copperas Cove.
Survivors include his wife, of Albany; one daughter, Sylvia Thomson of Richardson; four sons, Kenneth Schkade of Wichita Falls, Anthony Schkade of Lincoln, Neb., Donald Schkade of Boulder City, Nev., and Victor Schkade of Tulsa, Okla.; one brother, Louis Schkade of Albany; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund or to the donor’s favorite charity.

Peggy Nell Holleman
BROWNWOOD — Peggy Nell Holleman, 61, died Saturday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Cedar Point Cemetery in Brown County with Bo Shero officiating, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mrs. Holleman was born in San Angelo and had lived in Brownwood for 24 years. She was a packer for Texas Feathers and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Troy Holleman of Brownwood; two daughters, Brenda Fagundes and Debbie McDaniel, both of Brownwood; one stepson, Kirt Sanders of Brownwood; one sister, Lottie Smith of Junction; and three grandchildren.

Albert Beights
COLORADO CITY — Albert Beights, 69, died Sunday at his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Street Baptist Church with Dr. Bentley Gwyn officiating. Burial will be in Loraine Cemetery in Loraine, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Beights was born in Mitchell County, where he lived all his life. He farmed and ranched in northern Mitchell County and was a former member of Loraine Co-op Gin board. He attended Oak Street Baptist Church. He married Vivian Smith Ruddick in 1985 in Colorado City.
Survivors include his wife, of Colorado City; five sons, Mike Beights of McKinney, Ricky Beights of Snyder, Scott Beights of Tuscola, Perry Ruddick of Midland and Keith Ruddick of Colorado City; three daughters, Cindy Hearrell of Palestine, Marsha Dockrey of Colorado City and Donna Hill of Bardwell, Ky.; one sister, Isla Ruth Casey of Cotulla; 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Frances Stevens Dibrell
COLEMAN — Frances Stevens Dibrell, 95, died Sunday at her home.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Reed Justus officiating, assisted by the Rev. Helen McIver. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery, directed by Stevens Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dibrell was born in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School and Texas Women’s University. She lived in Chicago, Ill., for two years before returning to Coleman. She worked for J.E. Stevens Company, retiring in 1988 after 52 years. She was a member and kindergarten teacher at First United Methodist Church and was a charter member of the Aldersgate Guild.
Survivors include two sisters, Salome McHorse and Sarah Lou Gardner, both of Coleman; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
