Don G. McClellan
BROWNWOOD — Don G. McClellan, 80, died Monday at his residence.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Eastlawn Memorial Park, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Mr. McClellan was born on the family farm in Coleman County. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Ella Colleen Quigley on Feb. 5, 1951, in Hobbs, N.M. He was a farmer and rancher in Brown County, where he had lived since 1964. He was a member of the Gouldbusk Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Brownwood; one daughter, Donna Gay Lewis of Blanket; two sons, Ross McClellan of San Angelo and Glenn Rex “Bo” McClellan of Beaumont; two brothers, Lester McClellan of Coleman and Pat N. McClellan of Goldsmith; two sisters, Jewel McMinn of Coleman and Bernelle Pittard of Austin; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6:30-7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Gloria Dennis
BROWNWOOD — Gloria Dennis, 68, formerly of Goldthwaite, died Monday in an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Capital Parks Cemetery in Austin, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Mrs. Dennis was born in Refugio and had lived in Brownwood for the past 21 years. She was a retired librarian and a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, John Dee Dennis of Brownwood and William H. Dennis of Hickory, N.C.; and three grandchildren.

Margerite Denman
COLEMAN — Margerite Denman, 73, died Friday at her residence.
Memorial services were Tuesday at the Walker Funeral Home of Coleman with the Rev. Clarence Smith officiating. Burial was in the Coleman City Cemetery.
Mrs. Denman was born in Winchendon, Mass., and graduated from high school there.
There are no survivors.

Ruby R. Logan
SAN ANTONIO — Ruby R. Logan, 90, died Monday.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Willow Cemetery in Haskell, directed by Porter Loring Mortuary North of San Antonio.
Survivors include one daughter, Loraine Logan Muller of San Antonio; two sisters, Artie Price of McKinney and Mary Fowler of Cisco; one brother, George Robert of Haskell; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

R.J. 'Roy' Griffith
R.J. "Roy" Griffith, 95, died Wednesday at his residence in Abilene.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 16, at Elmdale Baptist Church with the Revs. Paul Nelson and H.G. Barnard officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Griffith was born in Haskell County and moved to Abilene in 1911. He married Ora Box on March 6, 1948 in Abilene. He was a stock farmer in the Elmdale Community east of Abilene and a member of the Elmdale Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Abilene; one son, Eugene Griffith of Hawley; two daughters, Kay Griffith Hibbs of Temple and Janell Griffith Ward of Balmorhea; three brothers, Bill Griffith of Paint Creek, Rev. J.C. "Jack" Griffith of Abilene; and Woodrow Griffith of Griffith Lake; and six grandchildren.

Juanita Courtney
Juanita Courtney, 78, died Tuesday at her home in Oklahoma City.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 16, 1999, at Elmwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Kyle Brown officiating, directed by Girdner-Brown Funeral Home of Abilene.
Mrs. Courtney was born in Brady and raised in Stamford. She was a cook, homemaker, and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include three daughters, Auardy Barker of Norman, Okla., Charlotte Oualline of Alvarado, and Ima Jean Fisher of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one stepdaughter, Dorthy Robinson of Keene; five sons, Eddie Vanzandt of Alvarado, Robert Vanzandt of Vancouver, Wash., Jimmy Courtney of Abilene, Raymond Courtney of Pottersville, Mo., and Roy Courtney of Cedar Hill; one sister, Cora Stinnett of Clyde; two brothers, James Edwards Jr. and Edwin Edwards, both of Cottonwood; 20 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be this evening at the nursing home.

Martha Wilson
Martha Wilson, 93, died Monday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at the Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home Chapel in Athens, Tenn. Burial will be in the Wesley Cemetery. Local arrangements were by Girdner-Brown Funeral Home of Abilene.
Mrs. Wilson was born in McMinn County, Tenn. She moved to Quanah in 1947 and to Abilene in 1970. She was a member of the Wesley Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, J.L. Blair of Abilene and Kenneth Blair of Hixon, Tenn.; one daughter, Marie Bringle of Bakersfield, Calif.; one brother, G.B. Bookout of Athens, Tenn.; one sister, Ina Gilbert of Marysville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

'Nanny' Loetta Harbuck
SWEETWATER - "Nanny" Loetta Harbuck, 73, died Wednesday in Abilene.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 16, at the Cate-Spencer and Trent Funeral Home Chapel in Sweetwater with the Rev. Tim Rickman officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Mrs. Harbuck was born in Goldthwaite. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sweetwater First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Shayla Fawn Veal and Johnnie Jones, both of Sweetwater; one son, Bruce Harbuck of Sweetwater; one brother, Marvin Williams of Big Spring; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Gene Heald
LAMESA - Gene Heald, 66, died Tuesday in a local medical center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Lamesa First United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Black officiating. Burial will be in Lamesa Memorial Park, directed by Branon Funeral Home of Lamesa.
Mr. Heald was born in Martin County. He married Betty Lou King on June 14, 1951 in Flower Grove. He coached peewee football, peewee baseball, minor league and Babe Ruth baseball. He was the choir director the Northside Baptist Church for many years and also a salesman for Bob Brown Motors. He was a member of the Lamesa Noon Lions Club, the First United Methodist Church, and a past president of the Lamesa High School Band Boosters.
Survivors include his wife of Lamesa; one daughter, Patti Branon of Lamesa; one son, Layne Heald of Abilene; one brother, Jimmy Heald of the Flower Grove Community; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the Lamesa First United Methodist Church Youth Fund.

Willie King Coleman
VERNON - Willie King Coleman, 100, died Wednesday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at the Throckmorton Cemetery with the Rev. Roland Slater officiating, directed by Community Funeral Home of Vernon.
Mrs. Coleman was born in Throckmorton County. After high school, she taught in Elbart. She graduated from the Physicians and Surgeons Hospital Training School for Nurses in Austin in 1922 as a Registered Nurse. Later, she received her license as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist. She worked in Throckmorton, Haskell, Albany and Breckenridge, and as a private duty nurse. She was appointed supervisor of nurses at the Haskell County Hospital in 1940. She authored a nutrition booklet and was instrumental in the development of the Licensed Vocational Nurse program in Texas which had its basis in the training programs she implemented in the local hospital to alleviate the nurse shortage during World War II. She married Dr. William C. Coleman on May 23, 1926.
Survivors include two sons, William Cowles Coleman Jr. and Dr. Rogers King Coleman; one daughter, Patty Coleman Kincheloe; one sister, Leila King Coleman; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
