Rev. E.D. Norman
EASTLAND - Rev. E.D. Norman, 88, died Wednesday in a local health care center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 16, at the First United Pentecostal Church in Eastland with the Revs. Bruce Norman, Mark Stanton, and Wendell Chance officiating, directed by Edwards Funeral Home of Eastland. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 17, in the Ore City Cemetery in Ore City, directed by Croley Funeral Home of Gilmer.
Rev. Norman was born in Leroy and grew up in Athens. He was the widower of Ima Sims Norman, whom he married in Athens in 1932. He began preaching in 1930 and traveled through Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Oklahoma, starting churches and holding tent revivals and brush arbor meetings. He started the United Pentecostal Church in Mesquite in 1957 and had pastored churches in Longville, La., Jefferson, Eastland, Ranger, Fort Worth, Dallas and Ore City. He married Emma Mae Elmore in Nov., 1991. He lived in Ore City prior to moving to Eastland in 1995.
Survivors include his wife of Eastland; one daughter, Glenda Reames of Ore City; one son, David Norman of Ore City; one sister, Clara Mae Alvis of Phoenix, Ariz.; three brothers, Westan Norman and Herman Norman, both of Fort Worth, and Lonnie Norman of Denton; five stepchildren; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today at the Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland. Viewing will be at 5 p.m. Friday, July 16, at the Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.

John Arthur Newton
John Arthur Newton, 72, of Abilene, died Wednesday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory with the Rev. Ron Curtis officiating. Burial will be in the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories.
Mr. Newton was born in the Cross Roads community near Tye. He attended school in Cross Roads and Merkel where he graduated from high school. He married Edrien Clary on Sept. 15, 1947 in Abilene. He retired from West Texas Utilities in 1982. He was a member of the University Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was also a member of the Retiree Club of WTU, Cobb Park Senior Citizens, and the VFW.
Survivors include his wife of Abilene; one son, Jerry Newton of Arlington; two daughters, Linda Robison of Allen and Kay Heyman of Menard; three brothers, Alton Newton, Kermitt Newton, and Clinton Newton all of Abilene; one sister, Louise Beaird of Abilene; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Marguerite Jane Richardson
Marguerite Jane Richardson, 73, died Wednesday in an Amarillo nursing home.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 17, in the Memorial Oaks Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel in Houston with Eugene Dewveall officiating, directed by Girdner-Brown Funeral Home of Abilene. Burial will be in the Memorial Oaks Cemetery. A memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday, July 19, at the Fifth and Grape Church of Christ with Don Hatch officiating.
Mrs. Richardson was born in Seymour and graduated from Sunset Community School north of Abilene in 1941. She graduated as a Registered Dietitian from North Texas State University and worked for Baylor Hospital in Dallas. She was the widow of Claude A. Richardson, whom she married in 1947 in Denton. She moved to Abilene in 1978 and was active in the American Heart Association, the March of Dimes, People Against Child Abuse, and the Alzheimer’s Association. She was a member of the Fifth and Grape Church of Christ.
Survivors include one daughter, Priscilla Richardson Hunt of Amarillo; one son, Patrick Timothy Richardson of Dallas; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Kenneth Byrel Cleveland
Kenneth Byrel Cleveland, 83, died in a local nursing home.
Masonic graveside services by the Abilene Masonic Lodge will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 17, at the Tye Cemetery, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home.
Mr. Cleveland was born in Texas. He married Harriet Gonterman on Dec. 23, 1967, in Abilene. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was the former owner of Cleveland Refrigeration and Heating. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 559 A.F. and A.M. and the Buffalo Gap Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Tye; two sons, Frank Austin Cleveland of Lawn and Robert Lon Cleveland of Texas; one daughter, Harriet Francis Board of Marblehead, Ill.; three stepsons, Clarence Patrick Lalond of Chicago, Ill, Murel Ray Lalond of Newburgh, Ind., and Henry David Lalond of Indianapolis, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Charlie E. Bouquet
Charlie E. Bouquet, 88, of Abilene, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Monday, July 19, in the Port Lavaca City Cemetery, directed by Richardson Funeral Home. Local arrangements were made by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Bouquet was born in Port Lavaca and moved to Abilene in 1992. He was an inspector for American Can Company for 25 years.
Survivors include three sons, George Bouquet of Abilene, Jimmy Bouquet of Richmond, Va., and Tom Bouquet of Seguin; one daughter, Cheryl Fox of Georgetown; one brother, Paul Bouquet of Columbus; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to donor’s favorite charity.

Nelda Fay Morgan Rauch
DE LEON — Nelda Fay Morgan Rauch died Sunday.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 19, in the DeLeon First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wes Horward officiating. Burial will be in the DeLeon Cemetery, directed by Nowlin Funeral Home of DeLeon.
Survivors include her husband, John T. Rauch Sr.; two sons, John T. Rauch Jr. and David Rauch; one brother, James Morgan; two sisters, Mary Languell and La Doris Killen; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Joyce Arlene Perry
BROWNWOOD — Joyce Arlene Perry, 39, died Tuesday at her residence.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Varga Chapel Cemetery in San Saba County with the Rev. Shawn Ellis officiating, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Ms. Perry was born in Brownwood and had lived in DeLeon for two years. She had worked as a nurse’s aide at the DeLeon Nursing Home. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Arrowsmith and Joseph Arrowsmith, both of DeLeon; two sisters, Alice Perry-Elliott of Santa Clarita, Calif. and Jo Ellen Ellis of Tucson, Ariz.; one brother, Jerry G. Perry of Brownwood; father and stepmother, Eugene and Janice Perry of DeLeon; and two stepsisters, Sandra Ellis of Lake Havasu, Ariz. and Rhonda Lucero of Brownwood.

Ruie Coffee
TEMPLE — Ruie Coffee, 88, formerly of Brownwood, died Wednesday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 17, at Eastlawn Memorial Park, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Mrs. Coffee was born in Holder. She was the widow of Bascom Lynn Coffee, whom she married on April 28, 1929 in Brownwood. She was a retired beautician and a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Brownwood.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Keathley of Duncanville and Imogene Mitcham of Houston; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Fred Bannowsky Jr.
ODESSA — Fred Bannowsky Jr., 57, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
The body will be cremated and a memorial service will be at a later date. Local arrangements were made by Parker Funeral Home of Baird.
Mr. Bannowsky was born in Blythe, Calif. He was raised in Odessa and had lived in the Houston area until one year ago when he returned to Odessa. He was a carpenter and a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, Fred Bannowsky III of Baird and Billy Bannowsky of Odessa; one stepson, Jason Matlock of Hobbs, N.M.; one daughter, Tammy Walker of Baird; one brother, Lawrence A. Bannowsky of Odessa; one grandchild; and several other relatives.

Lonnie Cole Frasier
STEPHENVILLE — Lonnie Cole Frasier, 73, formerly of Gorman, died Wednesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel in Gorman with Jeff Smith and Denver Rainey officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Mr. Frasier was born in Comanche County. He married Melba Kitchens on July 29, 1950 in Palo Pinto County. He was a veteran of World War II and a Methodist. He worked for Gorman Peanut Company and then Birdsong Peanuts before retiring. He had lived in Gorman for about 70 years prior to moving to Stephenville.
Survivors include his wife of Stephenville; one son, Dennis Frasier of Lake Leon; two brothers, Richard Frasier of Gorman and Alvin Frasier of Snyder; one grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
