Shalma Cawyer McGary
BROWNWOOD — Shalma Cawyer McGary, 72, died Wednesday at her home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 24, at the Locker Cemetery in San Saba County with the Rev. Dick Williams officiating, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Mrs. McGary was born in Brownwood and had lived in San Saba County prior to returning to Brownwood 11 years ago. She was the widow of O.B. McGary, whom she married on July 31, 1942 in Austin, TX. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include four daughters, Minnie Glaeske, Mary Griffin, and Rita Webb, all of Brownwood, and Wanda Quick of Brady; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Shantal Lee Martinez Moon
AVOCA — Shantal Lee Martinez Moon, infant, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Rosary services will be at 6 p.m. today at the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Stamford. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 24, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Melcher officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Creek Cemetery in Avoca, directed by Tankersley Funeral Home of Avoca.
She was the daughter of Rusty and Michelle Moon of Avoca.
In addition to her parents, survivors include one brother, Brandon Moon of Avoca; grandparents, Jose and Martha Martinez of Avoca, and N.D. Moon of Stamford; and several aunts and uncles.

Lela Mae Holland Roberts
ANSON — Lela Mae Holland Roberts, 86, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at the Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home in Anson with the Rev. Tom Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Roberts was born in Anson and graduated from Anson High School. She was the widow of A. Howard Roberts, whom she married on July 14, 1934 in Anson. She had worked as a cook for the Anson Independent School District and was a Baptist. She was a 4-H leader and a lifetime member of the Sunshine Home demonstration Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Phylecia Schooling of Ranger and Betty Hart of Olden; two sons, A.H. Roberts Jr. of Big Spring and Jim Roberts of Abilene; two brothers, T.L. Holland of Floydada and Charles Holland of Fort Worth; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

Albert G. Fletcher
CLYDE — Albert G. Fletcher, 83, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services with Masonic rites will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, at the Clyde Cemetery with the Rev. Dennis Williams officiating, directed by Bailey Funeral Home of Clyde.
Mr. Fletcher was born in Miller’s View in Concho County and graduated from Miller’s View High School. He married Annie Ruth Boydstun on Dec. 24, 1939. They lived in Natchitoches and Houston before returning to Clyde in 1974. He was a truck driver for Greyhound Van Lines and was also a farmer. He was a member of the Clyde Masonic Lodge 1056, Order of the Eastern Star 308, Scottish Rite, and Cherry Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Clyde; one daughter, Nita Ruth Hughes of Brandon, Fla.; five sisters, Annie Mae Brimer of Valera, Mary Ward of Calif., Dollie Sue Scott of Pinehurst, Merle Spruill of Odessa, and Winnie Dee Diaz of Coleman; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pauline Reves Sandefur
STAMFORD — Pauline Reves Sandefur, 79, passed away Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel in Stamford with the Rev. Alton Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Rockdale Cemetery in Haskell County.
Mrs. Sandefur was born in Lueders and was a lifetime resident of the area. She was the widow of W.P. “Penny” Sandefur, whom she married on June 26, 1952 in Stamford. She was a retired licensed vocational nurse for the Stamford Memorial Hospital and a homemaker. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include one son, Hugh Sandefur of Stamford; two sisters, Jane McKeever of Stamford and Grace Mataya of Houston; three brothers, David Reves Sr. of Anson, E.T. Reves of Schulenburg, and Jerry Reves of Decatur; and one grandchild.

Fannie Marie Jeffries
LITTLEFIELD — Fannie Marie Jeffries, 91, died Wednesday in a local care center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 24, at the Hemphill Chapel of the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Broadhurst officiating. Burial will be in Littlefield Memorial Park, directed by Hammons Funeral Home of Littlefield.
Mrs. Jeffries was born in Keller. She was the widow of Bill Jeffries, whom she married on June 28, 1931 in Littlefield. She was a retail sales clerk at Wares Department Store and Farr’s Jewelry. She was a member of the Littlefield First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Bill Jeffries of Abilene; two daughters, Sharon Jeffries Fain of Lubbock and Phyllis Jeffries King of Denton; two brothers, Jack Weaver of Littlefield and J.E. Weaver of Arlington; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Lubbock Childrens Home.

Bessie Alene Davis
Bessie Alene Davis, 38, of Abilene, died Thursday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Coleman Cemetery Pavilion with the Rev. Don Greenway officiating, directed by Stevens Funeral Home of Coleman.
Mrs. Davis was born in Abilene, where she attended school, and she attended cosmetology school in Fort Worth. She was a hairdresser and a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, Belton Gaines and Joshua Davis; two daughters, Amy Gaines and Amber Davis; her mother and stepfather, Ruby and Bill Bullard of Abilene; one brother, Donald Reynolds of Abilene; three sisters, Linda Bryce and Glinda Dorsey, both of Abilene, and Tina Tidwell of Springfield, Mo.; grandmother, Bessie G. Kimmell; and one grandchild.

Luella H. Johnson
STAMFORD - Luella H. Johnson, 100, died Thursday in a Hamlin care center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 26, at St. John's United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Irwin officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Stamford, directed by Tankersley Funeral Home of Stamford.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Wells, Minn. She graduated from Weatherford, Okla. High School and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State College. She taught in a one-room school before moving to Stamford in 1926. She was the widow of Adolph Johnson, whom she married on March 21, 1925 in Oklahoma City, Okla. She was a nursery attendant at the St. John's United Methodist Church for over 36 years. She was a member of the Avoca Home Demonstration Club and of the Eastern Star. She was also a retired practical nurse.
Survivors include two sons, Cecil Johnson of Olathe, Kan. and Charles Johnson of Fort Worth; two daughters, Doris Elaine Teasley of Delano, Calif. and Betty Abedor of Houston; nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Lucille Reece
HAMLIN - Lucille Reece, 83, died Thursday at her home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 26, at the Central Baptist Church. Burial will be in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, directed by Foster-Adams Funeral Home of Hamlin.
Mrs. Reece was born in Truby and was a lifelong resident of Jones County. She was the widow of W.A. Reece, whom she married on Oct. 13, 1953 in Anson. She had worked for the Cooler Pad Factory in Hamlin and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Inez Josey of Hamlin and Brenda Tabb of Hawley; one son, Travis Monroe; one stepson, James Reece of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Flora Mae Caldwell of Abilene; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Sunday, July 25.
Memorials may be made tot he Humane Society or the American Heart Association.

Marie Mathis
EASTLAND - Marie Mathis, 86, a longtime resident of DeLeon, died Wednesday
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at the Eastland City Cemetery with Jerry Hooper officiating, directed by Edwards Funeral Home of Eastland.
Ms. Mathis was born in Mills County, where she attended school. She had worked as a nurse's aide at the DeLeon Nursing Home of many years. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include two brothers, Jack Mathis of Olden and Ross Mathis of Coupeville, Wa.; and several nieces and nephews.
