Brian Keith Culifer
Brian Keith Culifer, 38, died Saturday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, in the City of Abilene Cemetery with the Rev. Herb Wood officiating, directed by Abilene Funeral Home.
Mr. Culifer was born in Whitewright and had lived in Abilene for 18 years. He married Judy Stewart on April 23, 1977 in Denison. He was a retired roughneck from the Texas oil patch and attended Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Abilene; one son, Carl Culifer of Abilene; two daughters, Stephanie Smith of Tye and Robyn Culifer of Abilene; his father, Ronald Culifer of Whitesboro; his mother, Nita Snyder of Calera, Okla.; two brothers, Greg Culifer and Johnny S. Culifer, both of Sherman; one sister, Susan Hancock of Denison; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lucille Dawson
BRECKENRIDGE — Lucille Dawson, 88, died Sunday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, in the Elliott Street Church of Christ with Jim Cox officiating. Burial will be in the Hart Cemetery, directed by Morehart Mortuary of Breckenridge.
Mrs. Dawson was born in Okra in Comanche County. She attended schools in Kent and Fisher Counties. She was the widow of Marvin Gordon “Whitey” Dawson, whom she married on May 4, 1929 in Hamilton. She moved to Breckenridge in 1936, where she worked for the Barnes & Williams Drug and Streetcar Café. She was a member of the Elliott Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include one daughter, Lola Dollins of Breckenridge; one son, Curtis Dawson of Breckenridge; five sisters, Opal McKnight of San Antonio, Pearl Davenport of Sherman, Lena Mae Kiser of Abilene, Elizabeth Edward of Kemp, and Mary Glover of Conroe; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Meals on Wheels.

Alphal Leclaire
LEWISVILLE — Alphal Leclaire, 86, died Thursday in a local medical center.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Willow Cemetery in Haskell, directed by Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home of Lewisville.
Ms. Leclaire was born in Seminole. She attended North Texas State University and graduated from Stamford School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse and a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include one brother, Homer Leclaire of Flower Mount; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to donor’s favorite charity.

Gladys Taggart O’Briant
ROTAN — Gladys Taggart O’Briant, 93, died Sunday in a local care center.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, at the Belvieu Cemetery with the Rev. Werth Mayes officiating, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home of Rotan.
Mrs. O’Briant was born in Hamilton. She was the widow of Ernest Taggart, whom she married on Oct. 16, 1935 in Rotan, and also the widow of Jim O’Briant, whom she married in 1974. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Ernest Wayne Taggart of Levelland, Michael Don Taggart of Amarillo, and Gary Neil Taggart of Odessa; numerous grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

Marie Ash
ROTAN — Marie Ash, 88, died Sunday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, in the Weathersbee Funeral Home Chapel in Rotan with the Rev. Randy Evens officiating. Burial will be in Belvieu Cemetery.
Mrs. Ash was born in Rotan. She was the widow of Buck Ash, whom she married on March 10, 1934 in Rotan. She was a homemaker and a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church.
Survivors include one sister, Evelyn Polk of Rotan; two brothers, Dick Rutledge of Plano and June Rutledge of Snyder; and several nieces and nephews.

Glyndol Asbury
BAIRD — Glyndol Asbury, 97, died Sunday in an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, in the Ross Cemetery with the Rev. Richard H. Wood officiating, directed by Parker Funeral Home of Baird.
Mrs. Asbury was born in Baird and was a lifetime resident. She was a retired dry goods clerk. She married James C. Asbury in Baird. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she played the organ until her retirement in 1994.
Survivors include two brothers, Horace E. Elliott of Baird and R.L. Elliott Jr. of Dalhart; and several nieces and nephews.

Pat White
Pat White, 56, a longtime Abilene resident, died Sunday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel in Abilene with the Revs. David Verbeck and Bill Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. White was born in Crowell where she attended school. She married Hank White in 1960. She moved to Abilene in 1973.
She was homemaker and a member of the First Assembly of God.
Survivors include her husband of Abilene; two daughters, Pam Logan of Vernon and Cristi Davis of The Colony; one son, Jeffery Alan White of Eastland; two sisters, Helen Thiabult of North Hampton, Pa. and Joyce Ann Gill of Texarkana; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Reece Mitchell
NASHVILLE, TENN. — Reece Mitchell, 55, a missionary for 25 years in Buenos Aires, Argentina sponsored by the University Church of Christ in Abilene, has died.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 29, at the University Church of Christ with Eddie Sharp officiating. Woodbine Funeral Home of Nashville handled the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Jacquie Mitchell; daughters, Laura Tepner and Karen Mitchell; sons, Jeffrey Mitchell and Marcus Mitchell; three grandchildren; three sisters; and five brothers.
Visitation will be from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, at the University Church of Christ in Abilene.
