Demple 'Dot' Tunnell
CISCO - Demple "Dot" Tunnell, 89, died Tuesday at her residence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 31, at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dale Cartwright and Martin Kaufmann officiating. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Stephenville.
Mrs. Tunnell was born in Morgan Mill and was a lifelong resident of Erath County. She was the widow of Cecil C. Tunnell, whom she married on Sept. 9, 1949 in Stephenville. She was a retired cafeteria employee at Tarleton State University and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sisters, Alice Strother of Stephenville, Pauline Bobo and Cleo Bentley, both of Sugarland, and Mozelle Wende of Cisco; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 30, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to childrens' homes of the donor's choice.

Loretha Mae Mitchell
RANGER - Loretha Mae Mitchell, 55, died Wednesday at her home.
Memorial services are pending at this time. Arrangements by Edwards Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mitchell was born in Ralls where she attended school. She married Freddy Mitchell on April 8, 1970 in Iowa Park. She attended Dean Baptist Church in Dean, TX.
Survivors include her husband of Ranger; one daughter, Shanna Yvonne Mitchell of Ranger; one son, Freddy Austin Mitchell of Ranger; two brothers, Jerry Don White of Cisco and Billy White of Ranger; three sisters, Mary Lou Coleman of Gordon, Doris Lee Pennington of Brownwood, and Charlotte White of Ranger; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Ideen Ely
Ideen Ely, 88, of Abilene, died Wednesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Starbuck Funeral Home Chapel in Merkel with the Revs. Sue Rowlett and Neil Ely officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home of Merkel.
Miss Ely was born in Merkel. She attended Crossroads, Merkel and Abilene schools. She had lived in the Abilene and Merkel area all of her life. She has worked as a sales clerk for several companies and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Abilene First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Merkel Cemetery Association, 201 Edwards, Merkel, TX 79536.

Odessa Chambers
BROWNWOOD - Odessa Chambers, 78, died Wednesday in a local nursing home.
The body was cremated and a memorial service will be at a later date. Arrangements by Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Mrs. Chambers was born in Jayton. She was the widow of Elbert Chambers. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one daughter, Julia Ann Koen of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one brother, Sam Phillips of Odessa; one sister, Ann Cox of N.J.; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.

J.L. Mitchell
GORDON - J.L. Mitchell, 84, died Tuesday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Gordon First Baptist Church with Cecil Harper and Floyd Newberry officiating. Burial will be in the New Gordon Cemetery, directed by Edwards Funeral Home of Strawn.
Mr. Mitchell was born in Palo Pinto County and was a graduate of Gordon High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded three Bronze Stars, the European-Africa-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and the American Defense Service Medal. He married Wilma Park on Oct. 21, 1951. He was a vice president for Gordon First National Bank from 1945 to 1970 along with owning and operating Gordon Insurance Agency from 1945 to 1980. He was a 50-year member of the Hedigner-Boyd Post 544 of the American Legion. He was a member of the Gordon Lions Club and the Gordon First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Gordon; one sister, Lena Rogers of Gordon; three nieces; and a host of cousins.

John 'Red' Langford
BROWNWOOD - John "Red" Langford, 56, died Wednesday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Brownwood. Burial will be in the Resthaven Cemetery in Brady.
Mr. Langford was born in Beaumont and had lived most of his life in Brownwood. He worked for ARA Food Service at Howard Payne. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his mother, Opal Langford of Brownwood; one brother, Fred Langford of Del Rio; one uncle; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Doris E. Ludecke
STAMFORD - Doris E. Ludecke, 83, died Monday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today in the Stamford First Baptist Church with the Revs. Jay Abernathy and Jack Riddlehoover officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Creek Cemetery in Avoca, directed by Tankersley Funeral Home of Stamford.
Mrs. Ludecke was born in Radium and was a lifetime resident of the Stamford area. She was the widow of William Ludecke, whom she married on March 9, 1935 in Stamford. She was a homemaker and a Methodist.
Survivors include one son, Harold Ludecke of Stamford; one daughter, Sheralon Lindsey of Mexia; one brother, Barry Lusk of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Della Mae Galloway
GORMAN - Della Mae Galloway, 87, formerly of the Cheaney Community, died Wednesday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 30, at the Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel in Gorman with Jackie Auvenshine officiating. Burial will be in Alameda Cemetery.
Mrs. Galloway was born in Eastland County. She attended school in the Salem Community. She was the widow of Oliver Galloway, whom she married on Dec. 24, 1939 in Eastland County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Gorman First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one niece; five nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews.

Jeffalee Dale Kitchens
CISCO - Jeffalee Dale Kitchens, 82, died Wednesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 30, at the Chambers-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel in Cisco. Burial will be in the Elm Cemetery near Rising Star.
Mrs. Kitchens was born in Okra and graduated from Rising Star High School. She attended CJC and Tarleton State. She graduated from Howard Payne. She married Alvin Kitchens on Oct. 4, 1940 in Levelland. She moved to Cisco in 1961. She taught first grade at Cisco until her retirement after 31 years. She was a member of the I-20 Church of Christ and TSTA.
Survivors include her husband of Cisco; one son, Royce Kitchens of Brooksmith; one daughter, Carolyn Hull of Cisco; three sisters, Bobbie Sue Wheeler of Fort Worth, Nell Walker of Loveland, Colo., and Joan Smith of Mobile, Ala.; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

L. Jack Johnson I
BROWNWOOD - L. Jack Johnson I, 66, died Wednesday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 30, at Eastlawn Memorial Park, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Mr. Johnson was born in San Antonio and had lived in Brownwood since 1971. He was a retired Chief Boatswain Mate in the U.S. Navy, and served in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion, and was also a member of the Fleet Reserve. He was a member of the Christian Church.
Survivors include one son, Leonard Jack Johnson II of Lake Procter; two stepdaughters, Eva Bush of Brownwood and Debby Ellison of Bangs; one stepson, Jerry Wayne Ellison of Bangs; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
