Glenn H. Leech
ALBANY — Glenn H. Leech, 85, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 31, at the Albany Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the Albany Cemetery, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home of Albany.
Mr. Leech was born on the Leech Ranch 12 miles south of Albany. He graduated from Albany schools in 1931. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and earned the Distinguished Flying Cross. He married Grace Gillean in Nov., 1946 in Albany. He had worked on the Reynolds Cattle Company Ranch in Kent and as foreman of the Roy Parks Ranch in Midland. He was a working cowboy and rancher all his life. He had served on the school board, hospital board, and as an Elder at the Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Southwestern Cattle Raiser’s Association, director and president of the Callahan-Shackelford County Farm Bureau, and a charter member and former board member of the Ranching Heritage Center in Lubbock. He was a member of the American Legion, and owned and operated his ranch near Albany.
Survivors include his wife of Albany; one son, James G. “Jim” Leech of Albany; one daughter, Nancy Birdwell of San Diego, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Richard Shelby Worley
ANSON — Richard Shelby Worley, 93, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at the Anson Church of Christ with Owen Morrow and Roy Stephenson officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home of Anson.
Mr. Worley was born in Rochester where he attended school. He married Edna Burleson on March 5, 1930 in Crowell. He was postmaster at Rochester from 1928 until 1933. He worked for Gulf Oil in Crane before moving to Carlsbad, N.M. He retired from IMCC Potash Mines in 1970 and moved to Anson in 1975. He was a member of the Fox and Lake Church of Christ and Sunset Church of Christ in Carlsbad, and had been a member of the Anson Church of Christ since 1975.
Survivors include his wife of Anson; two daughters, Jetta Kitterman and Clara Ann Worley, both of Anson; and one sister, Annis Doolen of Crane.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Charles Ray Preslar
CLYDE — Charles Ray Preslar, 74, formerly of Tuscola, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 31, at the Abilene Elmcrest Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Johnson and Dr. Jerry Joplin officiating. Burial will be in the Dewey Cemetery, directed by Bailey Funeral Home of Clyde.
Mr. Preslar was born in Taylor County. He married Barbara Simmons on May 24, 1947 in south Taylor County. He was the owner of Abilene Paving Company from 1960 until 1983. He moved from Tuscola to Clyde in 1998. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II and was a member of the Elmcrest Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Clyde; one son, Michael Alan Preslar of Abilene; two daughters, Charlotte Palmer of Clyde and Peggy Wright of Fort Worth; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Verna Boggus
EASTLAND — Verna Boggus, 88, died Wednesday in a local care center.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at the Daugherty Church of Christ with Larry Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Eastland Cemetery, directed by Lacy Funeral Home of Stephenville.
Mrs. Boggus was born in Buffalo Gap. She married Howell Boggus on June 27, 1936 in Ranger. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband of Eastland; one son, Rush Boggus of Grand Prairie; one sister, Roxie Stewart of Duncanville; five grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Patrick E. O’Keefe
HASKELL — Patrick E. O’Keefe, 85, died Monday in an Austin hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 31, at the Haskell Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gary Bruns officiating. Burial will be in the Willow Cemetery, directed by Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors of Haskell.
Mr. O’Keefe was born in West, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was the widow of Lorene Von Gonten O’Keefe, whom he married on Jan. 4, 1944 in Sagerton. He worked as a cowboy at the Swinson Ranch and was a farmer in the Irby Community until 1993. He was a member of the Sons of Hermann, the American Legion Post 0221, and the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Baccus of Abilene; three sons, Michael Earl O’Keefe of Colleyville, Jerry O’Keefe of Euless, and Kevin O’Keffe of Austin; three sisters, Lola Jenkins of Stanton, and Bea McClellon and Bernice Witt, both of West; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Rena ‘Daisy’ Jordan
FLUVANNA — Rena “Daisy” Jordan, 67, died Thursday in a Snyder hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at the Fluvanna Methodist Church with Dr. Ed Barkowsky and Tommy Marricle officiating. Burial will be in the Fluvanna Cemetery, directed by Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home of Snyder.
Mrs. Jordan was born in Carlsbad, N.M. and had lived in the Fluvanna area for 42 years. She married Bob Jordan on June 2, 1953 in Hobbs, N.M. She was a Sunday school teacher at the Fluvanna Methodist Church for many years and had also served as church treasurer. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of Fluvanna; three daughters, Renetta Collier, Danita Covey, and Lorinda Hardin, all of Snyder; two brothers, Wayne Lewis and Austin Lewis, both of Carlsbad, N.M.; and six grandchildren.

Elnor Spencer Liner
ODESSA — Elnor Spencer Liner, 86, died Thursday.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 31, at the Temple Baptist Church. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at Merkel Cemetery, directed by North’s Funeral Home of Abilene.
Mrs. Liner was born in Jones County. She was the widow of V.A. Liner.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Keesee of Odessa; one brother, Earl Young of Dallas; stepsons, James Liner of Snyder and Alford Liner; stepdaughter, Dolly Reddin of Merkel; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Nancy Velvie Knutson
HAMLIN — Nancy Velvie Knutson, 86, died Thursday at her home.
Graveside services will be on Monday, August 2, at Woodville Cemetery in Woodville, Calif. Local arrangements were handled by Foster-Adams Funeral Home of Hamlin.
Mrs. Knutson was born in Memphis, TX. She was the widow of Donnie L. Knutson, whom she married on Feb. 16, 1932 in Sayre, Okla. She had lived in California for many years before moving to Hamlin in 1996. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include three sons, David Knutson of Fillmore, Calif., and Steve Knutson and Robin Knutson, both of Hamlin; one daughter, Lois Beem of Visalia, Calif.; three sisters, Flora Sales of Missouri, Annie Klucas of Okla., and Cleo Marshall of Gatesville; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

Adell Springer
SWEETWATER — Adell Springer, 98, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at the Miles Cemetery in Miles, TX, directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater.
Mrs. Springer was born in Washington County and moved to Miles in 1921. She married Robert Springer on April 5, 1919 in Rockdale. She farmed in Milan until 1964 when she moved to Paint Rock. She moved to Winters in 1980 and to Roscoe in 1991. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Miles Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.
Survivors include one daughter, Bette Scott-Wood of Roscoe; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Clinton Harlow
LLANO — Clinton Harlow, 81, died Thursday.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1 in the Llano City Cemetery with Eugene Greer officiating, directed by Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home of Llano.
Mr. Harlow as born in Esbon and lived in Llano all his life. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Norma Lee Graham on Aug. 21, 1942 in Burnet. He was a rancher and a member of the Llano Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of Llano; three sons, Leon Harlow of San Angelo, and Jimmy Harlow and Timmy Harlow, both of Abilene; one sister, Bernice Kuykendall of Cherokee; four brothers, Tilmon Harlow of Llano, Dale Harlow and M.C. Harlow, both of Brownwood, and Carlos Harlow of Colorado Springs; and four grandchildren.
