Ruben Flores
Ruben L. Flores, 58, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Mass will be said at 10 a.m. today in St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church with the Rev. Nilo Nalugon officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Anson, directed by Abilene Funeral Home, 3349 N. 12th.
Mr. Flores was born in Runge and moved to Abilene in 1987 from Noodle. He worked for the City of Abilene Parks Maintenance Department for eight years and was a Catholic.
Survivors include three sons, Cruz Flores, Tony Flores and Earnie Flores, all of Abilene; one daughter, Lupe Rocha of Abilene; his mother, Manuela Flores of Merkel; seven brothers, Alex Flores, Robert Flores, Inez Flores and David Flores, all of Merkel, Larry Flores of Sweetwater, Thomas Flores of Chicago and Randy Flores of Memphis, Texas; one sister, Mary Flores of Merkel; and five grandchildren.

Jami Marie Macke
Jami Marie Macke, infant daughter of Jim and Norma Macke of Sweetwater, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2 in Elmwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Robert Bush officiating, directed by Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South.
Other survivors include two brothers, Michael Macke and Jordan Macke, both of Sweetwater; her paternal grandparents, Tom and Diana Macke of Abilene; and her maternal grandparents, Tino and Minerva Lerma of Abilene.

Johnny Floyd Lackey
LUBBOCK - Johnny Floyd Lackey, 65, formerly of the Big Country, died Monday in a local hospital.
Services were Wednesday in Southcrest Baptist Church with Dr. David Wilson and the Rev. Rob Lackey officiating. Burial was in Resthaven Memorial Park, directed by Resthaven Funeral Home.
Mr. Lackey was born in Old Glory and attended school in Haskell. He worked for White Swan Food Distributors for 34 years and retired as sales and marketing director. He moved to Lubbock in 1969 from Odessa. He was the widower of Ruby Ann Hoot Lackey, whom he married on June 7, 1952 in Abilene. He married Ramona Dobbins Coe on March 5, 1988 in Stamford. He was employed by Dubco Foods for two years until retiring again in 1993. He was a member of Texas Restaurant Association and Southcrest Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Lubbock; one son, Rob Lackey of Panhandle; one daughter, Annette Mooney of Atlanta; one stepdaughter, Karen Henthorne of Stamford; one stepson, Brad Coe of Abilene; his mother, Quillie Lackey of Haskell; one sister, Beatrice Jenkins of Waco; and 11 grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Southcrest Baptist Church Building Fund or American Heart Association.

Cecil Leon Klump
OLD GLORY - Cecil Leon Klump, 83, lifelong local resident, died July 21 in a Stamford hospital.
Graveside services were July 23 in Highland Memorial Cemetery in Stamford with Chad Massie officiating, directed by Kinney Funeral Home of Stamford.
Mr. Klump was born in Old Glory and married Maxine Wheeler on October 8, 1938 in Stamford. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was a farmer.
Survivors include many cousins.

Loretha Mae Mitchell
RANGER - Loretha Mae Mitchell, 55, died Wednesday at her home.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3 in Evergreen Cemetery, directed by Edwards Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mitchell was born in Ralls and attended school in Ranger. She married Freddy Mitchell on April 8, 1970 in Iowa Park and was a member of Dean Baptist Church in Dean, Texas.
Survivors include her husband, of Ranger; one daughter, Shanna Yvonne Mitchell of Ranger; one son, Freddy Austin Mitchell of Ranger; two brothers, Jerry Don White of Cisco and Billy White of Ranger; three sisters, Mary Lou Coleman of Gordon, Doris Lee Pennington of Brownwood and Charlotte White of Ranger; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Big Country.

Etta Glenora McKinley
STAMFORD - Etta Glenora McKinley, 86, lifelong local resident, died Friday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 5 p.m. today in Highland Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Stan Leaf officiating, directed by Kinney Funeral Home.
Ms. McKinley was born in Stamford and worked as a secretary. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include one nephew, Riley Stevens of Bedford; one niece, Susan Trotter of Stamford; one sister-in-law, Pauline McKinley of Stamford; and two great-nieces and one great-nephew.
Memorials may be sent to Central Presbyterian Church.

Glen Morris Rodgers
BROWNWOOD - Glen Morris Rodgers, 84, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Greenleaf Cemetery, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mr. Rodgers was born in Brown County and graduated from Bangs High School, Daniel Baker College, Southern Methodist University and the University of Texas at Austin. He was a lieutenant with the U.S. Naval Reserves during World War II. He retired as a teacher from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1983.
Survivors include one sister, June Gibbons of Mullin; two brothers, Elmer Rodgers of Coleman and Rex Rodgers of Stephenville; one uncle; and several nieces and nephews.

Roland Price Hall
EASTLAND - Roland Price Hall, 81, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Vaughn Baker officiating. Graveside services will be at 5 p.m. in Colorado City Cemetery, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home of Colorado City.
Mr. Hall was born in Loraine, where he grew up, and served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a retired farmer and cotton gin manager. He was the widower of Amarie Gann Hall, whom he married in 1940. He married Blanche McGaha on October 4, 1985 in Eastland. He formerly lived in Colorado City and moved from Loraine in 1997. He was a member of Loraine First Baptist Church and Friendship Sunday School Class at Eastland First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Eastland; two daughters, Joretta Gustafson of Mountain Ranch, Colo., and Janet Mearse of Mineral Wells; one brother, Roy Hall of Houston; one sister, Medwin Spencer of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be sent to a favorite charity.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in Edwards Funeral Home.

William Sam White Jr.
BROWNWOOD - William Sam White Jr., 58, lifelong local resident, died Friday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1 in Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early with the Rev. Kenneth Green officiating, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mr. White was born in Brownwood and graduated from Brownwood High School and Texas A&M University. He owned and operated Sam's Lawn Service and also, for many years, co-owned White Floral.
Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Greene of Nashville, Tenn., and Laurie Day of Brownwood; one sister, Norita Hallum of Brownwood; four grandchildren; and one niece and one nephew.

Harwell D. Chatwell
LUBBOCK - Harwell D. Chatwell, 71, died on Friday in a local care center.
Services will be Tuesday, August 3 at 10 a.m. in Sanders Funeral Home Memorial Chapel of Lubbock. Burial will be in the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
Mr. Chatwell was born in Stamford and moved to Lubbock in 1948. He married Amelia Balanay on May 5, 1979 in Lubbock. He was a freelance writer and composer for many years. He was a Methodist.
Survivors include his wife of Lubbock; and two aunts, Louise Dejarnette of San Antonio and Mary Hagle of Stamford.
