Ruth Edna Freeman
Ruth Edna Freeman, 88, of Weatherford and a former longtime Abilene resident, died Sunday at her home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Midway Cemetery in Hodges with the Rev. H.B. Terry Jr. officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 242 Hickory.
Mrs. Freeman was born in Taylor County and owned and operated Thornton’s Cafeteria. She moved to Weatherford three years ago and was a homemaker and a Baptist. She married A.V. Freeman in 1927 in Abilene; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include four daughters, Verdene Nichols of Cisco, Barbara Gray and Sharolyn Link, both of Wichita Falls, and Mary Severance of Weatherford; one sister, Nora Robbins of Kansas City, Mo.; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

William Wiggins Sr.
William Wiggins Sr., 94, of Abilene died Monday at a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be Wednesday in Iberis Cemetery with Howard Lang officiating, directed by North’s Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Mr. Wiggins was born and grew up in the Iberis community and operated Wiggins Dairy Farm from 1941-1958. He was a dairy farmer for more than 50 years and was a member of Wylie Baptist Church. He appeared in “All Is Quiet On the Western Front” and other movies and was a boxer. He married Opeal Beall in 1933; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, W.K. Wiggins Jr. of Abilene and James Wiggins of Amarillo; two daughters, Delores Lang of Austin and Darlene White of Grand Prairie; two brothers, L.L. Wiggins of Iberis and Fowler “Don” Wiggins of Abilene; one sister, Lula Wiggins of Waco; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-7:30 p.m. today.

Andrea Torres
SLATON — Andrea Torres, 16, died Saturday at an Abilene hospital after an accident at Lake Anson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Phillip Maldonado officiating. Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery, directed by Englunds Funeral Service.
Miss Torres was born in Yakima, Wash., and attended Abilene High School before moving to Austin in June.
Survivors include her father, Richard Torres of Abilene; her mother, Hortencia Diaz of Austin; six brothers, Joseph Torres of Yakima, David Diaz of Los Angeles, Calif., Gregory Diaz of Lompoc, Calif., James Torres of Lubbock, Adan Torres of Austin and Richard Torres Jr. of Seattle, Wash.; three sisters, Julie Torres of Yakima, Lisa Torres of Seattle and Angel Torres of Port Angles, Wash.; and grandparents Thomas Torres of Lubbock, Inez Velasquez of Yakima, Jesse Rodriguez of Oceano, Calif., and Christine Rodriguez of Lompoc.

Kenneth Wayne ‘Ken’ Arends
ODESSA — Kenneth Wayne “Ken” Arends, 47, died Saturday in Abilene.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Kevin Strempke officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Arends was born in Big Spring and grew up and attended school in Odessa, graduating from Odessa Permian High School in 1970. He moved to Abilene in 1996 and was active in T-ball and Little League. He was employed by Centennial Moisture Control and was a woodworker. He married Linda Shelton in 1974 in Midland.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two children, Sean Arends and Kacie Arends, both of Abilene; his parents, Clarence and Claudie Arends of Odessa; one brother, Dennis Lee Arends of Houston; one sister, Janice Stephens of Odessa; and several nieces and nephews.

Jimmie Jones
EL DORADO, Ark. — Jimmie Jones, 75, died Monday at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Old Parkers Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Moss officiating, directed by Young’s Funeral Directors.
Mr. Jones was born in Boynton, Ga., and was a retired maintenance worker and truck driver for Con Agra Poultry Co. He was an Air Force veteran, a member of Masonic Lodge 750 AF&AM and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Jones of El Dorado; five daughters, Linda Ann Cox of Abilene, Peggy Sue McGaugh of Newnan, Ga., Joanna Kay Graham of Hot Springs, Ark., Colleen Ann McMullan of El Dorado and Cathleen Nan Graham of Turin, Ga.; and seven grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Mildred Campbell
COLORADO CITY — Mildred Campbell, 88, a lifelong resident of Colorado City, died Sunday at a Las Cruces, N.M., care facility.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Colorado City Cemetery with Dr. Alex Campbell officiating, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Campbell was born in Mitchell County and was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church. She married Bruce Campbell in 1932 in Weatherford.
Survivors include one daughter, Verna Merritt of Las Cruces; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Emily Elizabeth Fulcher
COLEMAN — Emily Elizabeth Fulcher, a longtime Coleman County resident, died Monday in Georgetown after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Joe Jerkins officiating. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery.
Mrs. Fulcher was born in Rockdale and was a seamstress and a longtime member of the Baptist church. She moved to Georgetown in 1990. She married N.A. “Buck” Fulcher in 1935 in Coleman; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Jerkins of Austin and Nelda Lee of Dallas; one brother, Jimmy Quinn; one sister, Florence Ray; her stepmother, Bonnie Quinn; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Wesleyan Nursing Home, 2001 Scenic Drive, Georgetown TX 78626; or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
The family will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m.-noon today.

Tommy Jacobs
BROWNWOOD — Tommy Jacobs, 56, of Del Rio died Sunday at a Del Rio hospital.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Squaw Creek Cemetery in Glen Rose, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mr. Jacobs was born in Glen Rose and lived in San Angelo and Brownwood before moving to Del Rio five years ago. He was a Navy veteran and retired from GTE after 30 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Shannah Cole of Early; his mother, Lou Jones of Fort Worth; two grandchildren and several cousins.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6:30-8:30 p.m. today.

Dee Willett
BROWNWOOD — Dee V. Willett, 80, died Monday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in May Cemetery in May, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mr. Willett was born in May and lived in Brown County all his life. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a motion picture projectionist. He married Doris Lee Gray in 1944 in Bangs; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Kay Leach of Brownwood; and one granddaughter.

Mary Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Clifford
COLEMAN — Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Clifford, 91, a longtime Coleman resident, died Monday at a Seminole hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Coleman Cemetery Pavilion with the Rev. Jeff Robinett officiating, directed by Stevens Funeral Home.
Mrs. Clifford was born in Claremore, Okla., and had lived in Seminole for five years. She was a homemaker. She married William Everett Clifford in 1929 in Kingfisher, Okla.; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, William Everett Clifford of Clovis, N.M.; one daughter, Sarah Anne “Sally” Morgan of Seminole; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
