Helen Jackson
ALBANY - Helen Jackson, 99, Albany High School teacher from 1926 until retiring in 1968, died Tuesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Albany First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Tunnell officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville, Ark., directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home.
Ms. Jackson was born in Ozark, Ill., and graduated from high school in Batesville, Ark. She also graduated from Arkansas College and George Peabody College. She was a life member of Alpha Omicron Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma and a charter member of Albany Classroom Teachers Association. She was a member of Pi Gamma Mu, an English honor society; Texas State Teachers Association; National Education Association; National Council of English Teachers; Albany Study Club and First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one stepbrother, J.D. King; one sister-in-law, Virginia Jackson; and three nieces and seven nephews.
Memorials may be sent to Old Jail Art Center in Albany or a favorite charity.

Lois Russell
Lois Russell, 84, died Tuesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with the Rev. Rickie Rister officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Russell was born in Stringtown, Okla., and grew up in Peacock. She moved to Abilene in 1974 from California. She married Harley Russell in 1978 in Abilene and was a homemaker. She was a member of Second Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; two sons, Kenneth Doyle Myers of California and Doug Myers of Columbia, S.C.; one daughter, Cheryl Trujillo of San Jose, Calif.; four sisters, Hallie Darst and Dixie Tarrence, both of Abilene, Alene Morgan of Aspermont and Anna Belle Rose of Bakersfield, Calif.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Robert Breed
Robert L. Breed, 77, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
The body will be cremated and private memorial services are planned. Arrangements are being made by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Breed was born in Clifton, Colo., and served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a retired construction manager. He moved to Abilene 18 months ago from Mesquite, Nev., and was the widower of Eleanor McCarns Breed, whom he married on February 23, 1946 in Las Vegas, Nev.
Survivors include two sons, Michael B. Breed of Abilene and Patrick R. Breed of Santa Cruz, Calif.; two sisters, Ione Bailey of Hayward, Calif., and Lois Hutchings of Napa, Calif.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Nellie Mae Wells
Nellie Mae Wells, 84, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Wells was born in Oklahoma and moved to Abilene in 1954 from Archer City. She worked in the Cooper High School cafeteria. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was the widow of Charles Bert Wells.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Wells of Corsicana; one sister, Leitha Copeland of Houston; and two grandchildren.

Jessie Howard Turner
Jessie Howard Turner, 90, died Tuesday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Hamby Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Turner was born in Brown County and moved to Abilene in 1922 from Cisco. He served with the U.S. Army and was a self-employed truck driver. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and was the widower of Mary Moss Turner.
Survivors include his wife, Retha Flores Turner of Abilene; one stepson, Michael Flores of Abilene; two stepdaughters, Retha L. Ortiz of Oklahoma City and Cathy Bailey of California; one sister, Lela Scoonover of Houston; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Manuel Reyna Sr.
WEST HELENA, Ark. - Manuel G. Reyna Sr., 76, relative of two Abilene residents, died Tuesday at his home of heart failure.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Sunset Memorial Park with the Rev. Kenneth Harman officiating, directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.
Mr. Reyna was born in Thornton, Ark., and served in the military. He retired as a mechanic from Norac Company Inc. and was a member of United Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include three sons, Manuel G. Reyna Jr. of Abilene, Robert Reyna of West Helena and Mike Reyna of Lexa, Ark.; one daughter, Bernice McWhorter of Barton, Ark.; three brothers, Pete Reyna of West Helena, Jesse Reyna of Mellwood, Ark., and Joe Reyna of Barton, Ark.; three sisters, Clara Sullivan and Maria Childers, both of Wheeling, W.Va., and Antonia Reyna Locke of Abilene; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Audye Gentry Wagley
CISCO - Audye Gentry Wagley, 85, of Abilene and formerly of Cisco, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Cisco First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Turner officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, directed by Chambers-Wilcox Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Wagley was born in Stephens County. She taught school in Harpersville for eight years and Cisco for 29 years until retiring in 1977. She moved to Abilene four years ago and supported the Cisco Public Library. She was a member of 20th Century Club and First United Methodist Church, and was the widow of Britton E. "Doc" Wagley, whom she married on March 8, 1941.
Survivors include one son, Robert Wilson of Sonora; one daughter, Vickey Zinsser of Abilene; two grandchildren; one niece and two nephews; and many other relatives.
Visitation will be from 5:30-7 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Dixie Faye Coffey
CISCO - Dixie Faye Coffey, 88, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Cottonwood Cemetery, directed by Chambers-Wilcox Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Coffey was born in Hasse and married Norman Coffey. She was a homemaker. She lived in Cottonwood for more than 40 years until moving to Cisco in 1982. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Cottonwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include several nephews and nieces, including Vernetta Pierce of Cisco and Charleen Donaway of Albany.

Nora Ford
BIG SPRING - Nora Ford, 73, formerly of Big Spring, died Tuesday in a Midland hospital after a brief illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in Polar Cemetery, directed by Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ford was born in Snyder and was a homemaker. She was a member of Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include six children, Carl Ford of Euless, Ronnie Ford of Keller, Charlotte Kennemer of Big Spring, Carolyn Witthuhn of Roseville, Minn., Rocky Ford of Midland and Ronda Ford of Grafton, Va.; two sisters, Ethel Butts of San Angelo and Mamie Patterson of Snyder; one brother, Henry Hoyle of Colorado City; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five nieces and 10 nephews; and many great nieces and great nephews.

C.B. 'Buddy' Clem
HASKELL - C.B. "Buddy" Clem, 72, died Tuesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in First Assembly of God with the Rev. J.C. Amburn officiating. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery, directed by Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors.
Mr. Clem was born in Anson and married Katherine Mae White on January 21, 1950 in Stamford. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as an oilfield pumper and was a member of First Assembly of God.
Survivors include his wife, of Haskell; two daughters, Sharon Jessup of Kirkland, Wash., and Donna Winner of Big Lake; one son, Fred Clem of Snyder; one brother, Alton Clem of Hamlin; five sisters, Lucille Pryor, Estelle Beard and Era Mitchell, all of Andrews, Winnie Lanford of Lubbock and Edith Carruth of Burnet; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
