Ermin 'Heavy' Meyer
BROWNWOOD - Ermin "Heavy" Meyer, 69, supervisor for Texas Department of Transportation for 34 years until retiring, died Saturday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Philip Graf officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mr. Meyer was born in Indian Gap in Hamilton County and moved to Brownwood in 1944. He married Peggy Myers in 1950 in Brownwood. He was a Scout master for 10 years for Boy Scout Troop 43 and received the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts in 1975. He coached Little League and Pony League. He was a Sunday school superintendent for many years at Grace Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Brownwood; one son, Ernie Meyer of Tyler; one sister, Viola Hohertz of Brownwood; two grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Amanda Kincaid
Former Junior League member
Amanda Kincaid, 80, died Saturday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Elmwood Memorial Park with Dr. Cliff Stewart and the Rev. Scott Simpson officiating. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Central Presbyterian Church, directed by North’s Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Mrs. Kincaid grew up in Albany and graduated from Albany High School.
She graduated from the University of Oklahoma and lived in Midland before moving to Abilene in the 1950s.
She lived in Athens, Tex., Galveston and San Antonio before returning to Abilene in the late 1960s.
She was a member of First Central Presbyterian Church and Delta Gamma Sorority and a past member of Junior League of Abilene and Panhellenic Club.
She married Robert E.L. Kincaid in 1942; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Kitty Hunter of Houston and Fredericksburg and Polly Kincaid of Dripping Springs; one sister, Georgan Wheat of Abilene; two grandchildren, one nephew and five nieces.
Memorials may be made to Presbyterian Medical Care Mission, 302 Medical Drive, Abilene 79601; or to the donor’s favorite charity.

G.M. ‘Butch’ Winkler
Korean Conflict veteran
G.M. “Butch” Winkler, 70, of Abilene died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Lavern Janssen officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Winkler was born in Fedor, where he attended school and worked on the family farm.
He moved to Abilene in 1948 and worked in road construction until 1950.
He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1990. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he served on various boards and committees. He married Melva Dean Gartman in 1954.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one son, Dan Winkler of Lake Jackson; one daughter, Debra Lindsey of Wingate; one brother, Ewald Winkler of Lexington; one sister, Hildegard Krause of Serbin; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A prayer service, conducted by the Rev. Norm Steinke, and visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Travis Berry Parr
Texas Department of Highways employee
FLOYDADA — Travis Berry Parr, 87, died Saturday at a local care center.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Floydada Cemetery with the Rev. Wendell Horn officiating, directed by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home.
Mr. Parr was born in Chico and graduated from Childress High School. He attended Draughan’s Business College in Abilene and had worked for the Texas Department of Highways and Lighthouse Electric.
He was a retired farmer and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and First United Methodist Church.
He married Thelma Eudy in 1949 in Amarillo.
Survivors include his wife, of Floydada; two sons, David Wayne Parr of Rule and Jerry Dean Parr of Seguin; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

COLEMAN — Kalie Len Gunter, 2, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Coleman Cemetery Pavilion, directed by Stevens Funeral Home.
Kalie was born in Abilene and attended Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Survivors include her parents, Mark and Stacie Berry of Coleman; four brothers, Brandon Gunter, Adam Gunter, Daniel Vasquez, all of Coleman, and Ramsey Berry of Odessa; grandparents Teresa Gunter of Santa Anna and Carla and Gary Don Berry of Coleman; great-grandparents Bruce and Dorothy Alsobrook of Santa Anna and Frances Berry and Fred Davis, both of Coleman; and many other relatives.

Flora Cooke Hendricks-Curd
Flora Cooke Hendricks-Curd, 88, of Abilene died Sunday at a local nursing home.
Cryptside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Restlawn Memorial Park in El Paso, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Hendricks-Curd was born in Pine Point, Minn., and moved to Abilene from La Mesa, Calif. She was a homemaker and a Catholic. She was past president of the 8th District of the Texas Federation of Women and of numerous genealogical clubs. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of the War of 1812, Magna Carta Dames, Lower Valley Women's Club, Rio Valley Women's Club and Ysleta Women's Club. She married John Stanley Hendricks in 1928 in Las Cruces, N.M.; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, John D. Hendricks of Odessa; one daughter, Sandra H. Smith of Abilene; one sister, Donna V. Davis of Coos Bay, Ore.; three grandchildren and one niece.

Michael Willie Rodriguez
Michael Willie Rodriguez, 29, died Friday at his home.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, 3349 N. 125h. Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Catholic Church with the Rev. Nilo Nalugon officiating. Burial will be in Abilene Municipal Cemetery.
Mr. Rodriguez was born in Abilene, where he lived most of his life except for five years in Sweetwater and one year in Odem. He had worked for Church's Fried Chicken, Goodwill Industries and the Salvation Army. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
Survivors include his parents, Willie Diaz Rodriguez of Abilene, and Esperanza Arriola of Dallas; one brother, David Paul Rodriguez of Dallas; one sister, Dawn Rodriguez of Abilene; one half-brother, Damian Arriola of Dallas; and three half-sisters, Diana Arriola and Audelia Arriola, both of Dallas, and Jessica Rodriguez of Abilene.

Neeler Dorminey Buckner
VALDOSTA, Ga. - Neeler S. Dorminey Buckner, 75, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Azalea City Church of God with the Revs. Raymond Gabbard and Frank Gupton officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, directed by Carson McLane Funeral Home.
Mrs. Buckner was born in Brooks County, Ga., and had lived in Valdosta since 1941. She was a retired teacher and a member of Azalea City Church of God. She was the widow of K.T. Buckner.
Survivors include three daughters, Jean Brogdon of Lakeland, Ga., Virginia Vann Collins of Spring City, Tenn., and Janice Gobin of Abilene; two sons, E.E. Eunice Jr. of South Padre Island and William Dorminey Jr. of Junction City, Kan.; one stepdaughter, Inez Hosey of Hahira, Ga.; three sisters, Ann Bludsworth of Valdosta, Catherine Wetherington of Brunswick, Ga., and Margaret Whited of Quitman, Ga.; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
