Jo Gruell
Jo Gruell, 73, died Thursday in a local care facility.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. today in Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with the Rev. Jim Terry officiating.
Mrs. Gruell was born in Montague County. She was a member of the Presbyterian church in San Angelo and was the widow of Gene Gruell.
Survivors include one sister, Elizabeth Cook of Hobbs, N.M.; and 16 nieces and nephews, including Dorothy Wilson of Abilene.

Mary Jane Crain
Mary Jane Crain, 95, died Friday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Elmwood Memorial Park with Dr. Elbert Peak officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Crain was born in Bosque County and moved to Abilene in 1936 from Elmdale. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and was the widow of Benjamin "Ben" Franklin Crain, whom she married in 1915 in Roby.
Survivors include four sons, Vernon J. Crain of San Antonio, Bill Crain of Holland, Texas, Bennie Crain of Clyde and Charles Crain of Abilene; one daughter, Addie L. Waldrop of Dallas; two sisters, Opal Tabb of Hamlin and Addie Mae Holland of Stamford; one brother, Audie Early of Coahoma; 22 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Eunice Carney
Eunice M. Carney, 86, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Cedar Hill Cemetery with Dr. Phil Christopher officiating, directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Mrs. Carney grew up in Ballinger and moved to Abilene in 1937. She was a homemaker. She lived in Denver and Big Lake for a total of 35 years before returning to Abilene in 1985. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was the widow of Fred Carney, whom she married in Marfa.
Survivors include one daughter, Sue Chaney of Abilene; two stepdaughters, Vera Spinks of Kingsville and Mildred Maddox of El Paso; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will be at 171 Rocky Point.

Charles Anthony Carroll
Charles Anthony Carroll, 55, died Thursday at the Abilene State School.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Abilene State School Cemetery with Chaplain Chuck Webber officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Carroll was born in Waco and lived at the Abilene State School since 1956.
Survivors include six brothers, James Carroll of Dickinson, Hermon Carroll of Kemah, Thermon Carroll of Marshall, John Carroll of San Antonio, Jim Carroll of Seabrook and Bill Carroll of Baytown; and four sisters, Joan Queen and Jean Trent, both of Waco, Patsy Wood of Ohio and Virginia Lawrence of Marshall.

Dessie McMichael
BIG SPRING - Dessie L. McMichael, 85, of Fort Worth and formerly of Lake Thomas, died Thursday in a Fort Worth nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Rosewood Chapel with Dr. Randy Cotton officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Memorial Park.
Mrs. McMichael was born in Quitman and moved to Big Spring in the late 1950s. She moved to Lake Thomas in the early 1960s, where she and her husband owned and operated Neiman Marcus Hydroponic Tomato Green House until retiring in 1972. She moved to Fort Worth in 1994 and was a former member of American Women's Business Association. She was a member of Knapp Baptist Church and was the widow of Neiman Marcus McMichael, whom she married in 1933 in Abilene.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Glaze and Jeannie Gillespie, both of Fort Worth, and Frances Bryan of Odessa; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Leona Watson
ALBANY - Leona I. (Mrs. A.W.) Watson, 83, of Weatherford and formerly of Albany, died Thursday in a Weatherford nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Albany Church of Christ with Brian Cope officiating. Burial will be in Albany Cemetery, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home.
Mrs. Watson was born in Eastland County and was valedictorian of her graduating class at both Eastland High School and Scoggins Beauty College in Abilene. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was the widow of Andrew W. Watson, whom she married in 1934 in Eastland.
Survivors include one son, John Robert Watson of Weatherford; one sister, Edith Witten of Midland; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

JoAnna 'Mickey' Streckert
BROWNWOOD - JoAnna "Mickey" Streckert, 62, died Wednesday in a Fort Worth hospital after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Brownwood First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Don Scott and Bobby Weathers officiating. Burial will be in Greenleaf Cemetery, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mrs. Streckert was born in Brownwood and married William M. Streckert in 1974. She directed the weekday kindergarten program at First United Methodist Church for many years. She was a past president of the Junior 20th Century Club and Brownwood Lions Mothers Club, and was a member of Rotary Ann, Daughters of the Republic of Texas and Daughters of the American Revolution. She also was a member of the Peggy Boone Sunday School Class and sang in the choir at First UMC.
Survivors include her husband, of Brownwood; four daughters, Cynthia Baskin of Clifton, Va., Sherrill Simpson of Waco, Cindy Stone of Kingwood and Lisa Streckert of Brownwood; three sons, Jess E. Galbreath of Waco, Dr. Bill Streckert of Tyler and Doug Streckert of Terrell; one sister, Alef Yantis of Brownwood; and 16 grandchildren.

Wesley Clemmer
SWEETWATER - Wesley Clemmer, 77, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. James Spalding and Keith Clifton officiating. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery.
Mr. Clemmer was born in Putnam and married Mary Lois Jones in 1941 in Cisco. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and moved to Sweetwater in 1951 from Moran. He was a retired mechanic of Ford Motor Co. and attended Lamar Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Sweetwater; two sons, Kenneth Clemmer of Hamlin and Doyle Wayne Clemmer of Sweetwater; two daughters, Darlene Reed of Midland and Nila Louise Cook of Austin; three sisters, Virginia Briscoe and Juanita Hutchinson, both of Odessa, and Merle Duncan of Eastland; one brother, Willie Clemmer of Odessa; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Lutella 'Judy' Reeves
GUSTINE - Lutella "Judy" Reeves, 70, died Tuesday in a Houston hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Comanche Funeral Home Chapel in Comanche with the Rev. Richard Hume officiating. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery near Gustine.
Mrs. Reeves was born in Carter County, Okla., and married W.C. Reeves in Houston. She was a homemaker and was a Methodist.
Survivors include her husband, of Gustine; five sons, Charles Reeves of Highland, Bobby Reeves and Steve Reeves, both of Houston, Michael Reeves of Gustine and Curtis Reeves of Miami; two daughters, Patsy Steele of Houston and Peggy Reeves of Sweetwater; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Woodrow Robin Bibb
BRECKENRIDGE - Woodrow Robin Bibb, 58, of Crystal Falls and formerly of Breckenridge, died Friday at his home.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Melton Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Joe Finfrock officiating. Burial will be in Murray Cemetery.
Mr. Bibb was born in Breckenridge and was a U.S. Army veteran. He married Margaret "Sally" Dover in 1960 in Breckenridge and moved to Crystal Falls in 1976 from Crane. He worked in the concrete business and also as a pumper and carpenter. He was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church in Graham.
Survivors include his wife, of Crystal Falls; one daughter, Terri Bibb of Graham; his mother, Gladys Perdue of Huffstuttle; and one grandchild.
