David Mark Pinson
PROCTOR - David Mark Pinson, 67, lifelong local resident, died Thursday in a Comanche hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Harrell Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Dublin. Burial will be in Proctor Cemetery.
Mr. Pinson was born in Proctor and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He married Faye Eoff Holtz in 1987 and worked as a Comanche County commissioner since 1992. He was a member of Proctor Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Proctor; one sister, June Powers of San Antonio; and one uncle and one aunt.

Billie Brookover
COLORADO CITY - Billie K. Brookover, 67, died Wednesday at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. John Taylor and Jake Chaney officiating. Burial will be in Spade Cemetery.
Mrs. Brookover was born in Fort Worth and moved to Colorado City in 1953. She co-owned and operated the Col-Tex Gas Station and wholesale distribution, and was the widow of Steve Brookover, whom she married in 1953.
Survivors include two daughters, Rogene Spruell and Tracy Rich, both of Colorado City; and one grandchild.

Wallace Delman Allison
RULE - Wallace Delman Allison, 70, named Man of the Year in 1994 by the Rule Chamber of Commerce, died Thursday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Rule First Baptist Church with John Greeson, and the Revs. J.R. Williams and Don Meyers officiating. Burial will be in Rule Cemetery, directed by McCauley-Robison Funeral Directors.
Mr. Allison was born in Rule and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He married Helen Roddy in 1948 in Stamford and was owner of Allison Farm Supply since the early 1960s. He also worked as a real estate agent and was a farmer. He was a charter member of the Rule Lions Club and was president of the stockholders board for the Rule Co-Op Gin and Elevator. He was a past president of the Chamber Commerce, Rule Cemetery Association and Haskell County Pecan Show. He was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner, and was a member of Rule Masonic Lodge and First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Rule; one son, John Allison of Rule; two daughters, Brenda Griggs of Lubbock and Jan Briles of Stephenville; one brother, Desmond Allison of Smithville; four sisters, Olga Hayes of Carlsbad, N.M., Novis Pittcock of Rule, Lois Matchett of Hereford and Joyce Newman of Stamford; and seven grandchildren.

Dorothy Abbey
COMANCHE - Dorothy Abbey, 75, cafeteria worker at Comanche High School for 17 years before retiring in 1990, died Thursday in a Brownwood hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hall & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Burton Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Comanche Gardens of Memory.
Mrs. Abbey was born in Van Dyke in Comanche County and was a lifelong Comanche resident. She was a member of Liberty Freewill Baptist Church and was the widow of Jesse Frank Abbey, whom she married in 1943 in Comanche.
Survivors include one son, Jesse Abbey of Dallas; one daughter, Wanda Denman of New Braunfels; two brothers, Harland Dennis of Fort Worth and Raymond Dennis of Garland; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Liberty Freewill Baptist Church.

Kenneth Scott
STEPHENVILLE - Kenneth Scott, 66, member of the Texas High School Coaches Association, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Emil Becker officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory.
Mr. Scott was born in Paris, Texas, and graduated from Stephenville High School, Texas Christian University in 1952 and Tarleton State University. While at TCU, he played on the 1951 Southwest Conference championship football team. He was coaching at Hamilton when he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Fort Ord, Calif. football squad that won the national service title in 1953. He later returned to Hamilton and also coached in Comanche, Snyder, McKinney, Stephenville for several years and Fort Worth before retiring. He also was a retired teacher and was the widower of Patricia Kay Davis Scott, whom he married in 1958 in Hamilton.
Survivors include one son, Mike Scott of Stephenville; one sister, Gwynta Shuffield of Fort Worth; three grandchildren; and one nephew and one niece.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Alvin 'Sonny' Couch Jr.
Alvin M. "Sonny" Couch Jr., 58, of Hamby, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home Chapel, 1443 N. 2nd, with the Revs. Clayton Pennington and Rufus Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Hamby Cemetery.
Mr. Couch was born in Spur and moved to Abilene in 1941. He married Jeannie Brownlee in 1974 in Abilene and worked as a self-employed welder. He was a member of Hamby Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Hamby; two sons, Randy A. Couch of Abilene and Robby A. Couch of Hamby; four daughters, Melissa Bossman of Hannibal, Mo., Cindy Edwards of Eula, Christy J. Couch of Hamby and Tammy Huskins of Clyde; his mother, Pearl Pinkston of Abilene; his father and stepmother, Alvin M. "Friday" and Alice Couch Sr. of Abilene; two brothers, Doyle Couch of Abilene and Bobby Pinkston of Bakersfield, Calif.; four sisters, Pansy Mayes of Abilene, Glenda Elliott of Tenaha, Carleta Lindeman of Orient, Ohio, and Kim Flatt of Lubbock; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Cecil Henry Middleton
Cecil Henry Middleton, 68, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in University Baptist Church with Dr. George Knight and the Rev. Ron Curtis officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Middleton was born in Elbert in Throckmorton County and graduated from Throckmorton High School. He married Laura Hansmann in 1948 in New Braunfels and graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in 1952. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He owned and operated Country Corner Furniture and was a member of University Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one son, Russell Middleton of Alexandria, Va.; three daughters, Rhonda Doan of Ovalo, and Roxanne Rose and Rhene Davidson, both of Abilene; one sister, LaRue Davis of Throckmorton; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Elwood Webb
Elwood B. Webb, 90, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with the Rev. Archie Echols officiating. Entombment will be in Elmwood Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Mr. Webb was born in Romney and attended school in Cisco. He married Adah Haley in 1936 in Paris, Texas, and moved to Abilene in 1961 from Detroit. He attended Danforth School of Pharmacy and worked as a pharmacist for more than 50 years. He also was employed by Abbott Laboratories as a pharmaceutical representative for 35 years.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; and three sisters, Katherine Dean of Lubbock, Mary Alice Stroebel of Pampa and Betty Adams of Odessa.

Chester Strickland
SILVERTON - Chester Strickland, 89, of Albany, Ga., brother of an Abilene resident, died Tuesday in an Albany hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Silverton First United Methodist Church with Wayne Nance, Keith Green and the Rev. Randy Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Silverton Cemetery, directed by Myers-Long Funeral Directors.
Mr. Strickland was born in Florence, Texas, and graduated from the University of Texas. He formerly lived in Silverton. He was a retired superintendent of the Denton school system and moved to Albany, Ga. 5-1/2 years ago. He was a member of the XYZ Club, and Fellowship Sunday School Class at Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Strickland of Albany, Ga.; one daughter, Kay Wylie of Albany, Ga.; two brothers, J.D. Strickland of Abilene and Alton Strickland of Lubbock; one sister, Durene McPherson of Happy; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Nina Lavell Couch Winters
DALLAS - Nina Lavell Couch Winters, 59, formerly of Abilene, died Monday at her home.
Graveside services will be at noon today in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, directed by Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home.
Mrs. Winters was born in Abilene and graduated from Abilene High School in 1956. She married Max Winters in 1956 in Abilene and was a homemaker. She moved to Dallas more than 20 years ago and was a member of the Daughters of the Republic.
Survivors include her husband, of Dallas; five children, Gary Winters, John Winters, Lee Winters and Lavell Winters, all of the Dallas area, and Crystal Delk of Oklahoma; her mother, Alice Couch of Weatherford; three sisters, Evelyn Mathis of Carson City, Nev., Benny Williams of Sweetwater and Debbie Booth of Garland; one brother, Truett Couch of Plano; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
