Carl Jacobs
PROSPECT, OHIO -- Carl L. Jacobs, 91, father of Rebecca Rynders of Abilene, died June 9 in Marion, Ohio.
Services were held June 13 in Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood, Ohio, with the Rev. David Hoffman officiating. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery.
Mr. Jacobs graduated from Prospect High School in 1923 and married Henrietta Hedges in 1930. He was a farmer, retired from the Marion Power Shovel, the past president of the Union Rural Electric Co-op and a trustee of Prospect and York Township. He was a member of the Mount Olive Grange, Prospect & Richwood Senior Citizens, Farm Bureau Council 14, 4-H and Prospect United Methodist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, five sons, 30 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.

Jettie Daniels
GORMAN -- Jettie O. Daniels, 81, died Monday in a De Leon hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Joe Baptist Church with the Rev. Jackie Auvenshine officiating. Burial will be in Oliver Springs Cemetery, directed by Higginbotham Funeral Home.
Mrs. Daniels was born in the Oliver Springs community and married B.E. Daniels in 1935 in Rock Bluff. She was a member of St. Joe.
Survivors include her husband, of Gorman; one daughter, Mary Ann Barrentine of Miami; one brother, R.N. Watts of Dallas; one sister, Wilma Tunnell of Gorman; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. tonight in the funeral home.

Cliffie Graham
ROSCOE -- Cliffie G. Graham, 78, died Tuesday in a Roscoe hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Roscoe Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Addington officiating, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Graham was born in Roscoe and married Mary Jane Hubbard in 1947 in Sweetwater. He was a retired engineer for West Texas Gulf Pipeline, where he was a 35-year employee and a veteran of World War II. He lived in Roscoe most of his life and was a member of First United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge 571.
Survivors include his wife, of Roscoe; one daughter, Linda Osborne of Howe; one stepson, Larry Cornoyer III of Fort Worth; three grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

Gladys Blackwood
TUSCOLA -- Gladys Blackwood, 83, of Birmingham, Ala., formerly of Tuscola, died Monday in a Birmingham retirement center. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Tuscola Cemetery with David Rix officiating, directed by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home.
Mrs. Blackwood was born in Guin, Ala., and moved to Texas in 1916. She graduated from Winters High School in 1931 and married Len Blackwood in Wingate in 1938. She lived in Tuscola and Abilene before moving to Birmingham in 1994. In the 1930s, she performed musical selections in her own radio show on local station KRBC. While in Abilene, she was a member of "Sweet Adolines," a women's barbershop quartet group, and was past president of the Firemen's Wives Club. She was active in Mother's March of Dimes and was a member of Homewood Church of Christ in Birmingham.
Survivors include one son, James Blackwood of San Antonio; one daughter, Janice Cowin of Birmingham; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Glenda Keck Hernandez
CISCO -- Glenda Keck Hernandez, 50, died Monday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Chambers-Wilcox Funeral Directors Chapel with Cole Farmer officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Hernandez grew up in Cisco and graduated from Cisco Junior College. She attended school in Tarleton and West Texas in Canyon. She was a licensed vocational nurse, a certified emergency medical technician, and worked at North View Development Center in Eastland. She was a member of First Christian Church, Cisco Band Boosters, Nimrod 4-H and the Moran Parents/Teachers Organization.
Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Wilcoxen of Ranger and Steffanie Hernandez of Cisco; her mother, Murl Lee Keck of Cisco; one sister, Carol McBride of Abilene; two brothers, Arthur E. "John" Keck of Cisco and Steve Keck of Stephenville; and one granddaughter.

Rosemary Rice Mickler
HASKELL -- Rosemary Rice Mickler, 63, died Monday at home in Rule.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Faith Chapel in Rochester with Kathryn Byrd officiating. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery, directed by Holden-McCauley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mickler was born in Big Spring in 1935 and married Robert Daniel Mickler there in 1955. She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Chapel.
Survivors include her husband, of Rule; two daughters, Melyn Wittenborn and Dannette Winegeart, both of Haskell; one son, Rob Mickler of the Woodlands; two brothers, Lowie Rice of Conroe and Jon Rice of California; one sister, Iris Doss of Big Spring; and two grandchildren.

Barbara Ella Wagner
BROWNWOOD -- Barbara Ella Wagner, 56, of San Antonio, formerly of Brownwood, died Monday in a Brownwood hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ruben Packer officiating. Burial will be in Jordan Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Wagner was born in Brownwood and married Kenneth Dale Wagner there in 1959. She was a Baptist and a homemaker, and lived in Brownwood for many years before moving to San Antonio.
Survivors include her husband, of San Antonio; two daughters, Belinda Ciszek and Donna Wagner, both of San Antonio; her mother, Jewel Woodcox of Brownwood; three sisters, Betty Coffee, Geraldine Master and Leona Woodcox, all of Brownwood; one grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Retha Pauline Orr
LAMESA -- Retha Pauline Orr, 78, died Saturday in Pleasanton.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Branon Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Black officiating. Burial will be in Lamesa Memorial Park.
Mrs. Orr was born in White Flat, Okla., and married Searcy Orr in 1941. She moved to Lamesa in 1956 and was secretary of North Elementary School for 20 years. She was a member of the 48 Delphians Club and a lifelong member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Rob Orr of Jourdanton; one daughter, Sandy Norris of Snyder; one sister, Joan Wilkes of Austin; one brother, Bill Spencer of Amarillo; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

George Edward Stowe
George Edward Stowe, 92, a longtime Abilene resident, former city councilman and for 23 years business manager and assistant superintendent for the Abilene Independent School System, died Sunday at a local care center.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Jim Zug and Dr. Chris Diebel officiating. Private graveside services will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Stowe was born in Waco and moved to Abilene in 1920. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1924 and attended Hardin-Simmons University. He graduated from Texas Christian University with a bachelor's degree in 1928 and from HSU with a master's degree in 1939. He was administrator for Ballinger schools and was with Mertzon and El Paso schools for 16 years. He returned to Abilene in 1949 and retired from AISD in 1972. He was a member of First Christian Church, where he was deacon and elder, Masonic Lodge and Shriners. He was past president of Texas School Business Association and a former member of Abilene Kiwanis Club. He married Geneva Karr in 1936 in Brownwood.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two daughters, Cyrena McMurry of Little Elm and Loralei Tuckness of Amarillo; one brother, J.H. Stowe of Abilene; one sister, Sarah Hoffius of Hot Springs, Ark.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Wilma Darlene Andrews
Wilma Darlene Andrews, 67, of Abilene died Sunday at a Colorado City hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Elmwood Memorial Park with the Rev. H.B. Terry Jr. officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Andrews was born in Bradshaw, where she graduated from high school. She lived in Abilene most of the rest of her life and was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She married Floyd Glenn "Andy" Andrews in 1948 in Abilene; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Randy Andrews of Dallas and Jerry Andrews of Abilene; one daughter, Cindy Landreth of Rule; two brothers, Allen Jones of Abilene and Jerry Jones of Fort Worth; one sister, Peggy Shumaker of Colorado City; and four grandchildren.
