Herbert Jerry Kainer
KNOX CITY - Herbert Jerry Kainer, 61, died Friday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Faith Lutheran Church in Sagerton with the Rev. Jeff Zell officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery in Stamford, directed by Tankersley Funeral Home of Stamford.
Mr. Kainer was born in Sagerton and married Maezelle Ray in 1979 in Altus, Okla. He was a retired oilfield worker and was a Lutheran.
Survivors include one son, Matt Kainer of Orlando, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Tenia Johnston of Lubbock; one brother, Johnny Kainer of Stamford; five sisters, Alvina Rinn of Houston, Pauline Barnett, Bertha Bounds and Lucille Bradshaw, all of Stamford, and Meta Kupatt of Sagerton; one grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Alice Luttrell
Mary Alice Luttrell, 79, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Trent Cemetery with the Rev. H.G. Bernard officiating, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Mrs. Luttrell was born in Mingus and married L.A. Luttrell in 1936 in Trent. She was a homemaker and moved to the Abilene area in 1960. She was a member of Elmdale Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; three sons, Harry Luttrell of Abilene, Louis D. Luttrell of Wilmer, Ala., and Thomas B. Luttrell of Freer; two brothers, Oddie Washburn of Rufus, Ore., and Charles Robert Washburn of Abilene; three sisters, Willie Mae Dickerson, LaDean Thomas and Barbara Newsom, all of Merkel; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Lee Etta Hampton
Lee Etta Hampton, 90, died Friday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in North's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange, with the Rev. Ronnie Newton officiating. Burial will be in Fort Phantom Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Hampton was born in Jones County and graduated from Nugent High School. She married Bill Hampton in 1946 in Abilene and was a homemaker. She was a Methodist.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; two sisters, Virgie Fillmon and Thelma Bristow, both of Abilene; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

The family will be at Route 6, Box 342 on Farm Road 600.

William Riley Nichols
William Riley Nichols, 69, of Winters, died Thursday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Rough Creek Cemetery near Novice with the Rev. Floy Kelly officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Nichols was born in Abilene and was a U.S. Army veteran. He married Mary Jackson in 1951 in Midland and moved to Winters in 1964 from Big Spring. He worked as a self-employed general contractor for several years.
Survivors include his wife, of Winters; three sons, Jerry Nichols of Coleman, Jeffery Nichols of Winters and Greg Nichols of California; three daughters, Bettye Moilan of Sevierville, Tenn., Julie Barthelemy of Sonora and Valerie Torres of O'Fallon, Ill.; and 15 grandchildren.

Allen Thomas Kutch Sr.
RULE - Allen Thomas Kutch Sr., 61, retired longtime Rule school administrator, died Thursday from injuries received in a traffic accident.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Rule High School auditorium with the Revs. Daniel Ramey and Billy Roddy officiating. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Rule Cemetery, directed by McCauley-Robison Funeral Directors.
Mr. Kutch was born in Kelley near Wellington and graduated from Wellington High School in 1951, Texas A&M College and Abilene Christian College. He earned his administrator's certificate from Abilene Christian University and was a U.S. Army veteran. He moved to Rule in 1957. He married Myrtle Murray in 1963 in Rule.
He taught vocational agriculture for 20 years and was school principal from 1977-90. He then was school superintendent until 1993. He served on the Rule City Council from 1966-70 and was mayor from 1978-82. He was a member of the Rule Lions Club and served as its president in 1964. He was an honorary member of the Rule FFA Chapter and Texas Association of the FFA. He also was a member of Rule Masonic Lodge 954 and was a four-time lodge master. He was district deputy grand master of the 91st Masonic District in 1974. He was a member of the Association of Texas Professional Educators, Texas Association of Community Schools, and was a life member of Texas State Teachers Association.
Survivors include his wife, of Rule; one son, Allen Thomas Kutch Jr. of Bellville; two daughters, Christine Ann Smith of Jayton and Kathleen Sue Emfinger of Lamesa; one brother, Hugh Kutch of Wellington; two sisters, Jody Shumate and Mary Alice Holland, both of Wellington; and three grandchildren.

Elaine Favor
JAYTON - Elaine Favor, 68, died Friday at her home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Jayton First Baptist Church with the Revs. Glen Shock, Truett Kuenstler and Ed Terry officiating. Burial will be in Jayton Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home of Rotan.
Mrs. Favor was born in Abilene and graduated from Abilene High School in 1946. She attended Hardin-Simmons University and married Joe Favor in 1948 in Abilene. She moved to Jayton in 1951 and was a member of Jayton Art Club and First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Jayton; three sons, Roger Favor of Weatherford, Lyndall Favor of Littlefield and Terry Favor of Lubbock; one daughter, Kathy Favor of Midland; and five grandchildren.

Charles Howard 'Hobby' Walls
LUBBOCK - Charles Howard "Hobby" Walls, 68, father of an Abilene resident, died Wednesday in Lubbock.
Services were held Friday in Lone Camp Community Center in Palo Pinto County. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery in Palo Pinto County, directed by White's Funeral Home of Mineral Wells.
Mr. Walls was born in Palo Pinto and graduated from Mineral Wells High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force and Merchant Marines, and worked as a helicopter pilot for Southern Airways at Fort Wolters. He also was a real estate agent and operated Action Door Co. in Lubbock until retiring in 1996.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Walls of Lubbock; two sons, Billy Howard Walls of Lubbock and Charles Michael Walls of Abilene; one brother, Billy Walls of Richardson; two grandchildren; and three aunts.

Otis Miller
ROSEBUD - Otis F. Miller, 80, formerly of Abilene, died Friday in a Temple hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Rosebud First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, directed by Hoelscher Funeral Home.
Mr. Miller formerly was a longtime Abilene and Waco resident. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a retired electronics engineer. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Peppy Miller of Rosebud; one son, Stan Miller of Waco; one daughter, Peggy Stockton of Tacoma, Wash.; one sister, Regina Miller of Stamford; and five grandchildren.

Irma Reynolds
LEWISVILLE - Irma Reynolds, 46, formerly of Abilene, died Thursday in a Dallas hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Wallace, Fred Smith and Jiovann Andre Carrasco officiating. Burial will be in Old Hall Cemetery, directed by Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home.
Mrs. Reynolds was born in Munday and attended Cooper High School in Abilene and McMurry College. She worked as a dispatcher for Southwestern Bell in Abilene for 14 years. She was a petty officer second class in the U.S. Naval Reserves and was president of the MCMWTC Wives Club in 1989. She was a member of the National Egg Guild, Flame Fellowship in Denton and Temple Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Reynolds of Lewisville; two sons, Jiovann Andre Carrasco of Denton and Michael Anthony Carrasco of Lewisville; two stepsons, Richard Michael Reynolds of Lake Dallas and Shane Reynolds with U.S. Marine Corps; her father, Paulino R. Velazquez of Abilene; and four sisters, Rita Acuna of Oklahoma City, Sylvia Calvillo of Highland Village, Ramona Yolando Daley of Midland and Elsa Lydia Rabe of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Visitation will be Sunday in the funeral home.
