Robert Alton 'Al' Vick Jr.
WINGATE - Robert Alton "Al" Vick Jr., 90, died Monday in a Ballinger nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Winters with Dr. Jeff May officiating. Burial will be in Wingate Cemetery.
Mr. Vick was born in Ranger and moved to Wingate as a child. He was a farmer and was a member of Winters First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews.

H.T. Truman Parker
BRONTE - H.T. Truman Parker, 91, died Thursday in a Ballinger hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Bronte First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, directed by Shaffer Funeral Home.
Mr. Parker was born in Jackson, Miss., and moved to Bronte in 1945. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was the widower of Lela Sarah Warner Parker, whom he married in 1945 in Bronte.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Parker of Bronte; one daughter, Ida Lee Ellis of Ballinger; one sister, Floy Lee Nunley of San Antonio; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Annie Estelle Dennis
GORMAN - Annie Estelle Dennis, 88, died Wednesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with Richard Watson and Lloyd Williams officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Mrs. Dennis was born in Comanche County and was a longtime Gorman resident. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Family Bible Church and was the widow of Marion Francis Dennis, whom she married in 1928 in Rock Bluff.
Survivors include two sons, Billy Joe Dennis of Gorman and Roy Dennis of Midland; two daughters, Mary Ruth Arnett of Lubbock and Ruby Lee Kinser of Gorman; one sister, Lala Brown of San Antonio; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Jake Christopher Dusak Sr.
HASKELL - Jake Christopher Dusak Sr., 71, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Bolivar Cemetery near Sanger with the Rev. Owen Rushing officiating, directed by Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors.
Mr. Dusak was born in East Bernard and attended the Bernard Prairie School. He served with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Kwajalein during World War II and moved to Haskell in 1969. He worked as an operating engineer for Riley Stoker Corp. for 35 years before retiring and helped build the West Texas Utilities Power Plant at Paint Creek. He then worked in the barbecue business in the Haskell area. He was a member of Local 178 Operating Engineers for 45 years and Fraternity Order of the Eagles. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah "Pat" Dusak of Haskell; two daughters, Margie Ledbetter of Sanger and Nina Converse of Woodward, Okla.; one son, Jake Dusak Jr. of Haskell; two brothers, Frank Dusak of Houston and Albert Dusak of Wharton; three sisters, Sophie Hadjik of Rosenberg, Lucy Prazak of Houston and Bertha Engleheart of East Bernard; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to West Texas Rehabilitation Center, 4601 Hartford, Abilene 79605; or a favorite charity.
The body will be at the funeral home until 1 p.m. today.

Ruby Viola Franklin
MUNDAY - Ruby Viola Franklin, 91, of Orchard and formerly of Knox County, died Monday at her home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Johnson Memorial Cemetery, directed by McCauley-Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Franklin was born in Muskogee, Okla., and was a homemaker. She moved to Richmond in 1952 from Knox County, and Brownfield in 1960 and Orchard in 1985. She was the widow of Jack Wilson Franklin, whom she married in 1928 in Henrietta.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruby Dutton and Ellen Pavlock, both of Orchard; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Stephen Franklin Davis
COMANCHE - Stephen Franklin Davis, 39, lifelong Comanche County resident, died recently.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hall & Sons Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Davis was born in Dublin and graduated from Comanche High School in 1976, Tarleton State University in 1980 and St. Mary's School of Law in 1983.
Survivors include one son, Dan Davis of De Leon; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Davis of Comanche; one sister, Fredda Davis Jones of Comanche; two brothers, David Davis of Cresson and Scott Davis of Victoria; his paternal grandfather, M.F. Davis of Comanche; four nephews and one niece; and one great-nephew.

Nancy Raye Bolen
BROWNWOOD - Nancy Raye Bolen, 46, died Sunday in a local hospital.
Private graveside services will be today in Greenleaf Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Swindler officiating, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Ms. Bolen was born in Barberton, Ohio, and attended school in Norton, Ohio. She moved to Brownwood in 1993 from Houston.
Survivors include three sisters, Becky LoveJoy of New Caney, Barbara Hajack of Florida and Lessy Seabolt of West Virginia.

David Henry Hodges
KNOX CITY - David Henry Hodges, 81, died Tuesday in a local nursing home after a long illness.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Knox City Cemetery with the Rev. Dan Limitone officiating, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Hodges was a U.S. Army veteran and worked in construction.
Survivors include two sisters, Sue Wright of Knox City and Mary Pierson of Edgewood; and two brothers, Lee Harris of Wylie and Charlie Hodges of Rosenburg.

BLANKET - Ellen Driskill, 91, lifelong Brown County resident, died Monday in a Brownwood nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Blanket First Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Camp officiating. Burial will be in Zephyr Cemetery, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Mrs. Driskill was born in Grosvenor and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was the widow of Kenneth Ward Driskill, whom she married in 1934 in Brownwood.
Survivors include one son, Ellis Morgan Hardin of Odessa; one daughter, Evelyn Faye Barber of Fort Worth; two sisters, Della Mackey of Blanket and Evelyn Fry of Putnam; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Ruth Karl Hothan Jennings
Ruth Karl Hothan Jennings, 78, died Saturday at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at North's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 4002 Buffalo Gap Road, with the Rev. Don Cauble officiating.
Mrs. Jennings was born in Novice and moved to Ovalo as a child. She graduated from Ovalo High School in 1937 and attended Texas Tech and Hardin-Simmons universities. She moved to Abilene in 1943 and was a charter member of Beta Sigma Phi and the Jaycettes. She retired from Abilene State School education department in 1976 and was a 50-year member of South Side Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She married Fred Jennings in 1940 in Ovalo.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; one son, Bryan Jennings of San Antonio; and one brother, Bill Hothan of Abilene.

R.L. 'Bob' Hunter
R.L. "Bob" Hunter, 82, of Abilene died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Revs. James Bynum and Rudy Fambrough and Patsy Hunter Clinton officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Hunter was born in Hollis, Okla., and graduated from high school in Arnett, Okla., in 1932. He attended Draughan's Business College and had lived in Abilene since 1938. He owned Weeks-Hunter Insurance for 33 years before retiring. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where he was church teller for more than 40 years. He was a member of Independent Insurance Agents of Abilene, which he served as secretary-treasurer for 15 years. He married Mary Frances Mauldin in Paducah in 1938.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; four daughters, Mary Kay Lingle of Tucson, Ariz., Jean Ann Irwin of San Antonio, Nancy Weeks of Abilene and Patsy Clinton of Springtown; one sister, Maggie Stockstill of Quanah; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 1241 Cypress, Abilene 79601.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Virginia Parker White
Virginia E. Parker White, 106, of Abilene died Monday at a local convalescent center.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Masonic Cemetery in Gatesville with the Rev. H.B. Terry Jr. officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. White was born in Panola County and moved to Abilene from Coryell County in 1930. She retired from Rita Barber and Abilene Casket. She was a member of Southwest Park Baptist Church and Senior Adult Ladies Sunday School class. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star. She was the widow of Robert Newton White.
Survivors include a great-nephew, I.A. Parmer of Abilene; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.
