Lindsey Adcock
HAMLIN - Lindsey W. Adcock, 83, of Anson died Sunday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Foster-Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Novel Baize and Paige Baize officiating. Burial will be in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Adcock was born in Frisco and attended Roby schools. He worked for Texas Electric for more than 36 years in Sweetwater, Big Spring and Odessa, retiring in 1976 and moving to McCaulley. He moved to Anson in 1992 and was a member of Tuxedo Church of Christ. He married Altha Lakey in 1939 in McCaulley.
Survivors include his wife, of Anson; one son, Lynn Adcock of Arizona; two granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.

Thomas 'Tommy' Briggs
BANGS - Thomas G. "Tommy" Briggs, 65, died Monday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jimmy Allen and Allen Gilbert officiating. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Cedar Point Cemetery.
Mr. Briggs was born in Chillicothe and attended school in Water Valley. He had lived in Carlsbad and moved to Bangs in 1980. He was a retired electrician and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was a 32nd-degree Mason and a Shriner. He was past master of Bangs Masonic Lodge and past president of Heart of Texas Shrine Club. He was president of Brownwood Scottish Rite Club. He married Virginia Anderson in 1980 in Bangs.
Survivors include his wife, of Bangs; two sons, Terry Glen Briggs and Thomas Briggs, both of Katy; two stepdaughters, Cindee (Mrs. Ray) Goodwin of Early and Patti (Mrs. Terry) Miller of Dublin; his mother, Lillie Briggs of San Angelo; and five grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas or to the Shriners Burn Center in Galveston.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Josephine Jane Conklin
Josephine Jane Conklin, 75, died Wednesday at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Second Baptist Church with the Revs. Clayton Pennington and Jerry Shields officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Mrs. Conklin was born in Ofuskee, Okla., and grew up in the Anson and Hamby area. She was a homemaker. She was the widow of Herbert Cheek, whom she married in 1945. She married Earl Conklin in 1962 in Abilene and was a member of Second Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; one daughter, Sharon Harbin of Abilene; one son, Rocky Cheek of San Antonio; two stepsons, Larry Conklin of Yucca Valley, Calif., and Gary Conklin of Bakersfield, Calif.; three stepdaughters, Judith Moore of Fullerton, Calif., and Connie Mason and Fay Phelan, both of Fort Thomas, Ky.; one sister, Neva Dell Newton of Abilene; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will be at 1125 Portland.

Milton Crosby Boyd Sr.
Milton Crosby Boyd Sr., 84, retired longtime employee of Gulf Oil Corp., died Wednesday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Phil Christopher, Bob Weissinger and Bill Ballou officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Boyd was born in Gilmer, Tex., and attended Texas Tech University. He married Reba Blanton in 1939 in Goldsmith and they moved to Abilene in 1963.
He retired in 1977 after 43 years with Gulf Oil, the last 15 years as superintendent of the Abilene automated pipeline station. After his retirement he worked as a volunteer at Hendrick Medical Center and became the first male member of the Hospital Auxiliary.
He was a Mason for 61 years and member of John Sayles Lodge. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he sang in the Majestic Sounds senior adults choir.
He was active in Republican politics as a volunteer, assisting his wife, a former Taylor County GOP chairman and current state Republican Executive Committee member.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Judith Daniels of Abilene and Suzanne Alcorn of Waco; two sons, Charles William (Bill) Boyd of Buna, and Milton Crosby (Bing) Boyd Jr. of Midland; one sister, Irene Arnold of Tyler; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m today at the funeral home, 542 Hickory.

Linda Harding Lyons
FORT WORTH - Linda Harding Lyons, 53, sister of an Abilene resident, died Wednesday in Fort Worth.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Arlington, directed by Greenwood Funeral Home.
Ms. Lyons was born in Paris, Texas, and worked as a program director for New Horizons of Fort Worth. She was an advisor at the Tarrant County Women Center, and was a member of Mental Health Association and American Association of University Women.
Survivors include her mother, Mary Lyons of Fort Worth; one brother, David Lyons of Lubbock; one sister, Kay Dillard of Abilene; three nephews and one niece; and two great-nieces.

Francisco Salas
COLEMAN - Francisco A. Salas, 87, lifelong Coleman County resident, died Thursday in an Abilene hospital.
A prayer service will be at 6 p.m. today in Walker Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be said at 2 p.m. Saturday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Larry Cyr officiating. Burial will be in Coleman City Cemetery.
Mr. Salas was born in Santa Anna and married Mary Luisa in 1932 in Coleman. He worked as a laborer and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Coleman; two daughters, Mary Escobar and Evelyn Perez, both of Coleman; five sons, Mack Salas, Billy Salas and Charles Salas, all of Coleman, Pete Salas of Abilene and Robert Salas of Breckenridge; 41 grandchildren; 80 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Myrtie Ethel Barnard
KNOX CITY - Myrtie Ethel Barnard, 96, died Thursday in a local nursing home after a long illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in O'Brien Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Trice officiating. Burial will be in O'Brien Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Barnard was born in Chester and was a lifelong resident of Haskell and Knox counties. She was a homemaker. She was a Baptist and was the widow of Claude "Sip" Barnard, whom she married in 1923 in Rule.
Survivors include one son, Claude Barnard of Knox City; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Georgia Kimball Melton
GORMAN - Georgia Kimball Melton, 81, of Burleson and formerly of Gorman, died Wednesday in a Fort Worth hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Gorman First Baptist Church with Craig Rhoton officiating. Burial will be in Gorman Cemetery, directed by Higginbotham Funeral Home.
Mrs. Melton was born in Waco and was a homemaker. She was a Baptist and was the widow of George Britt Melton, whom she married in 1935 in Waco.
Survivors include one daughter, Jean Stuard of Burleson; one brother, Jim Kimball of China Springs; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Alford Bullard
CLYDE - Alford K. Bullard, 88, formerly of Winters, died Friday in an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Lakeview Cemetery in Winters with the Rev. David Cason officiating, directed by Bailey Funeral Home.
Mr. Bullard was born in Brown County and worked as a carpenter. He moved to Clyde in 1987 from Abilene and was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a member of Broadview Baptist Church in Abilene and was the widower of Lena B. Hancock Bullard, whom he married in 1944 in Runnels County.
Survivors include three sons, Bill Bullard of Cottonwood, Larry Bullard of Florida and Ken Bullard of Clyde; one daughter, Kay Bardin of Tulsa, Okla.; one brother, Mack Bullard of Winters; one sister, Ella Smith of Merkel; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
