Sopha Belknap Eudy
CISCO - Sopha Belknap Eudy, 100, died Thursday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Kimbrough Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Turner officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Eudy was born in Hazledale and graduated from Draughan's Business College in 1918. She married J.M. "Pete" Eudy in 1919 in Baird and was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Bill Eudy of Cisco; four daughters, Maurine Thompson of Cisco, Virginia Dayton of Norman, Okla., Mary Schulle of Brownwood and Martha Emerich of Pensacola, Fla.; 26 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and 38 great-great-grandchildren.

Sara Ruth Lawlis Sanders
Sara Ruth Lawlis Sanders, 94, died Friday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Sears Methodist Center Chapel with Gary Ball and Robert Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Sanders was born in Murfreesboro, Ark., and attended Southwestern State University in Georgetown. She taught school in West Texas for more than 40 years and moved to Abilene in 1972. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and was the widow of Cloyde Sanders.
Survivors include one son, John R. Sanders of Abilene; three daughters, Ann Latimer of Plano, Sally Loch of Longview and Paula Cavitt of Atlanta; one sister, Frances Gordon of Abilene; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Wilna Muns Sharp
Wilna Muns Sharp, of Kingsland and formerly of Abilene, died Thursday in an Austin hospital.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with Dr. Jack Reese officiating. The body was cremated.
Mrs. Sharp was born in Sweetwater, where she graduated from high school. She attended Abilene Christian University and was a longtime Abilene resident.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Sharp of Kingsland; one son, Lee Busby of Livermore, Calif.; one brother, James Muns of Plano; one sister, Iris Reese of Abilene; and several nieces and nephews.

Rayford Duane Strickland
FORT WORTH - Rayford Duane Strickland, 55, an Abilene native, died Friday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Brown Cemetery in Aledo, directed by Thompson's Harveson & Cole.
Mr. Strickland was a retired consultant and was a member of Haltom Masonic Lodge 1331. He was a Methodist.
Survivors include his wife, Dottie Baker Strickland of Fort Worth; three daughters, Melissa Howard of Sweetwater, Kelly Green of Ponder and Wendy Scott of Big Lake; his parents, H.T. and Lila Strickland of Abilene; and four grandchildren.

BLANKET - Mildred Thompson, 74, died Thursday in a Brownwood hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early with the Rev. Bill Swindler officiating. Burial will be in Rock Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Thompson was born in Wingate and attended school in Comanche County. She married Ceron R. "Jeff" Thompson in Comanche and was a homemaker. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, of Blanket; three sons, Ceron Kit Thompson of Goldthwaite, Theron Coy Thompson of Blanket and Sloan Ott Thompson of Early; two daughters, Judy Johnson of Blanket and Dorothy Arnold of Killeen; three sisters, Ollie Walker of De Leon, Emma Watkins of Monahans and Georgia Markham of Cross Plains; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Jessie Kelley
RANGER - Jessie L. Kelley, 95, died Thursday.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Speer officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Kelley was born in Fannin County and moved to Ranger in 1923. She was a homemaker. She was a Baptist and was the widow of J.C. Kelley, whom she married in 1923.
Survivors include one son, Palmer Ray Kelley of Dodge City, Kan.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

BROWNWOOD - Gene Terry Messer, 54, died Wednesday in Phoenix, Ariz.
Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early with Mattie Manley officiating. The body will be cremated.
Mr. Messer was born in Mullin and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean conflict. He moved to Brownwood in 1987 from Alpine and worked in the trucking industry for several years. He was a Methodist.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Messer of Brownwood; one son, Kevin Donaghy of Brownwood; two daughters, Kathy Devinney of Early and Kalli Punte of The Colony; and nine grandchildren.

Jimmy Darrell Low
BIG SPRING - Jimmy Darrell Low, 66, formerly of Runnels County, died Thursday at his home.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today in Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Winters with the Rev. Gayland Broadstreet officiating. Burial will be in Wingate Cemetery.
Mr. Low was born in Big Spring and lived in Wingate and Wilmeth before returning to Big Spring as a teenager. He served in Korea and married Pat Loudemy in 1975 in Big Spring. He worked for Fina Oil and Chemical from 1961 until retiring and was a member of Berea Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Big Spring; two sons, Monty Low and Kevin Low, both of Potosi; two daughters, Lee Ann Dorton of Big Spring and Lisa Page of Odessa; one brother, Vernon Low of O'Donnell; four sisters, Mickey Orrell of Winters, Birdie Cotter of Weatherford, and Lacey Low and Virginia Low, both of Big Spring; and six grandchildren.

Edna Smithwick
BROWNWOOD - Edna M. Smithwick, 61, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Pleasant Valley Cemetery with Joyce Pugh officiating, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Mrs. Smithwick was born in Brownwood, where she was a longtime resident. She married Bernard F. Smithwick in 1952 in Brownwood and worked as a machine operator for Brownwood Manufacture and the Glove Factory for many years.
Survivors include her husband, of Brownwood; two sons, Bernard E. Smithwick and Boyd F. Smithwick, both of Brownwood; two daughters, Renetta Neal and Cathy Slate, both of Brownwood; three brothers, Peeley Robertson of May, and Otto Robertson and Edmon Robertson, both of Brownwood; one sister, Pearl Boden of Kilgore; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
