Gene Hodnett Boyd
EL PASO - Gene Hodnett Boyd, 63, died Sunday.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Westside Church of Christ with Howard Bryan officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery in Santa Teresa, N.M., directed by Futrell Funeral Home.
Mr. Boyd was born in Hamlin and graduated from Abilene High School in 1952. He graduated from Abilene Christian College with a bachelor's degree in business. He signed with the San Francisco 49'ers as a placekicker in 1956. He moved to El Paso in 1966 and retired as vice president of Sunwest Bank in 1995. He was a member of Westside Church of Christ. He married Sandra Neile Rodgers in 1966 in Lubbock.
Survivors include his wife; his father and stepmother, Gene and Lucille Boyd; two daughters, Connie Peterson of Tuscola and Tonya Bridges of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one son, Shane Boyd of El Paso; one sister, Paula Weldon of Lubbock; one brother, Lyndon Rogers of Alamogordo, N.M.; 10 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Alvin Lara
ROBERT LEE - Alvin M. Lara, 74, died Sunday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Robert Lee Hispanic Cemetery, directed by Shaffer Funeral Home.
Mr. Lara was born in Crockett County and lived in Robert Lee most of his life. He was employed by the city of Robert Lee and was a member of the Pentecostal church.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Lara of Robert Lee; two sons, Alvin Lara Jr. and Henry Lara, both of Abilene; two daughters, Virginia Lara and Mary Ann Valles, both of Abilene; one sister, Pauline Balderas of Robert Lee; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Alton Boyd Carter
TUSCOLA - Alton Boyd Carter, 58, died Sunday at an Abilene nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Rogers Cemetery with the Rev. T.C. Melton officiating, directed by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home.
Mr. Carter was a lifelong resident of Tuscola, where he graduated from high school. He was a professional rodeo calf roper and a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.
Survivors include one son, Audie Wayne Carter; one brother, Ray Carter of Abilene; one nephew, one great-nephew, one aunt and several cousins.

Marilou Carriedo Anderson
COLLEGE STATION - Marilou Carriedo Anderson, 46, formerly of Abilene, died Sunday at a Bryan hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Graveside services will be at 2:15 p.m. Thursday in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
Mrs. Anderson was born in LaPaz Tarlac, Philippines, and had lived in College Station for five years. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Stephen Anderson of College Station; one son, Christopher Anderson of College Station; one daughter, Maria Anderson of Austin; three brothers, Celestino Dizon Jr., Rodrigo Dizon and Rolando Dizon, all of Manila, Philippines; five sisters, Racquel Burton of Belton, Alicia Dizon, Emilyn Vinuya, Evangeline Tiongson and Rosetta Ricafort, all of Manila; her parents, Celestino and Pacita Dizon Sr. of Manila; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pat Geiger
COLORADO CITY - Mrs. Pat Geiger, 54, died Monday at a Sweetwater hospital.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Travis Monday officiating. Burial will be in Colorado City Cemetery, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Geiger was born in Pecos and was a longtime resident of Colorado City. She worked for the Colorado Independent School District as an elementary school librarian for 30 years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She married Dale Geiger in 1958 in Snyder.
Survivors include her husband, of Colorado City; one daughter, Cindy Jones of Colorado City; one son, Kevin Geiger of Albuquerque, N.M.; her parents, Bill and Vergie Martin of Colorado City; one brother, Buck Martin of Decatur, Ala.; and four grandchildren.

Fannie Lee Roberts
SNYDER - Fannie Lee Roberts, 86, of Hendersonville, Tenn., and a longtime Snyder resident, died Saturday at a Madisonville, Tenn., hospital after a long illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at East Side Church of Christ with Tom Holcomb officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Eastlawn Cemetery in Brownwood, directed by Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Roberts was born in Scurry County and had lived in Brownwood before returning to Snyder in 1977. She was a clerk for Coggin Avenue Drug Store in Brownwood for a number of years. She was a homemaker and a member of East Side Church of Christ. She married Samuel Lee Roberts in 1930 in Carlsbad, N.M.; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Joe E. Roberts of Hendersonville; one sister, Mary Frances Osborn of Midland; two brothers, Willis "Bill" Davis and Z.W. Davis, both of Snyder; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Calvin Embrey
HAMLIN - Calvin L. Embrey, 73, died Monday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Tracy Watson and James Brigham officiating. Burial will be in Neinda Cemetery, directed by Foster-Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Embrey was a lifetime resident of Jones County. He was self-employed as a service repairman and owned and operated Embrey's Snack Bar. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and former Sunday school teacher and superintendent and church treasurer. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He married Jo Brown in 1944 in Hamlin.
Survivors include his wife, of Hamlin; one son, Don Embrey of Odessa; one daughter, Sharon McGhee of Rochester; one brother, J.T. Embrey of Modesto, Calif.; two sisters, Lola Carter and Viola Jones, both of Hamlin; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Victoriana Cantu
ROTAN - Victoriana Cantu, 86, formerly of Rotan, died Friday in Rowland Heights, Calif.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Weathersbee Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Johnrose Hayden officiating. Burial will be in Belvieu Cemetery.
Mrs. Cantu was born in Del Rio and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church until moving to California. She married Eugenio Cantu in 1932 in the Hobbs community.
Survivors include six daughters, Lupe Padron of Modesto, Calif., Antonia Padron of Rowland Heights, Maria Deleon of Grand Prairie, Gloria Molina of Fort Worth, Jane Gonzales of Lewisville and Becky Sanders of Rotan; four sons, Rogelio Cantu of Hobbs, Paul Cantu and Simon Cantu, both of Lubbock, and Frank Cantu of Abernathy; one sister, Rosa Deleon of Rotan; 40 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Bessie Beaty
EASTLAND - Bessie Beaty, 90, a retired school teacher, died Monday in Eastland.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bakker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kyle Glenn officiating. Burial will be in Murray Cemetery in Carbon.
Mrs. Beaty was born in Rock Bluff and grew up and went to school in Carbon. She attended Tarleton College and graduated from Daniel Baker College with a bachelor's degree and from Hardin-Simmons University with a master's degree. She began teaching in 1924 and taught in Eastland County for 45 years. She also taught adult education for 10 years. She had lived in Eastland since 1970 and was a member of First United Methodist Church. She married John Beaty in 1925 in Eastland; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Hallmark of Eastland and Carolyn Hines of Stuart, Neb.; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Winnie Mae Bainbridge
CLYDE - Winnie Mae Bainbridge, 84, died Sunday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Clyde Church of Christ with Jim Hall officiating. Private graveside services will be directed by Bailey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bainbridge was born in Oplin and moved to California after her marriage, moving to the Rowden community in 1945 and to Clyde in 1972. She was a retired medical secretary and a member of Clyde Church of Christ. She married Elic William Bainbridge in 1935 in Cordell, Okla.
Survivors include three cousins, including Lucille Mason of Abilene, and two great-nieces.
