Helen McMurry
Helen McMurry died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Rev. Bill Ballou officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Ms. McMurry was born in Memphis, Texas, where she graduated from high school. She moved to Abilene in 1950 from Borger. She worked as a self-employed home builder until retiring in 1990 and was a member of Abilene Home Builders Association and First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Stanley McMurry of Dallas; two sisters, Carl Gerlach of Oklahoma and Ruby Thomason of Abilene; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Trinidad Diaz
Trinidad Diaz, 95, died Thursday in a local nursing home.
Mass will be said at 10 a.m. today in St. Francis Catholic Church with the Rev. David Matz officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Diaz was born in Villa De Coz Zacatecas, Mexico, and moved to Abilene in 1929. She worked in child care before retiring and was a homemaker. She was a member of Guadalupenas and St. Francis Catholic Church, and was the widow of Reyes V. Diaz, whom she married in 1936 in Abilene.
Survivors include five sons, Reyes V. Diaz Jr. of Springfield, Va., Celestino Chia of Bellflower, Calif., and Jose "El Sambo" Murillo, Aurellio "Lito" Murillo and Edward Murillo, all of Abilene; two daughters, Elvira Gonzales and Lydia Hernandez, both of Abilene; 37 grandchildren; 80 great-grandchildren; 37 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren.

Bobby Nelson
Bobby Nelson, 63, of Tye, died Thursday in a Dallas hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Clyde Cemetery with the Rev. Junior Rister officiating, directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Mr. Nelson was born in Abilene, where he grew up. He was a U.S. Army veteran and married Betty Hodnett in 1957 in Abilene. He worked as a truck driver for Strain Trucking Co. for several years and then as a driver for Taylor County Precinct 1 from 1980-85. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, of Tye; four sons, Bobby Dale Nelson, Leslie Nelson and Randy Nelson, all of Abilene, and Billy Nelson of Red Wing, Minn.; four daughters, Dianne Frazier of Abilene, Shelly King of Red Wing, Minn., Gail Cargill of Big Spring and Tonya Vich of Buffalo Gap; one brother, A.C. Nelson of Abilene; and 12 grandchildren.
The family will be at 139 Apache in Tye.

Hal Lanier Roberts Jr.
Hal Lanier Roberts Jr., 67, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Oakridge Church of Christ with Mark Young and Bob Brandon officiating. Graveside services will be at 4:30 p.m. in Crossroads Cemetery southeast of Ranger, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Roberts was born in Oklahoma City and attended Abilene Christian and Texas Tech universities. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean conflict and married Cevellia Carolyn Woods in 1955 in Eastland County. He moved to the Abilene area in 1981 from Sonora and worked for Lone Star Energy in Sweetwater as a lead operator, supervising the construction and operation of refineries and pipelines in West Texas and eastern New Mexico. He was a member of Oakridge Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; three sons, Bailey Hal Roberts of Abilene, Kolton Ross Roberts of Olney and Gregory Dallas Roberts of Bellingham, Wash.; one daughter, Cevellia Alatha Roberts of Merkel; two brothers, Clifford Roberts of Amarillo and Bobby Roberts of Mansfield; one sister, Anna Cotton of Mineral Wells; 12 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Warren Douglas Frymire
CARLSBAD, N.M. - Warren Douglas Frymire, 40, an Abilene native, formerly of Jal, N.M., died Thursday in a local care facility.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church in Jal, N.M., with Dr. Billy Weckel and the Rev. Jim Green officiating. Burial will be in Jal Cemetery, directed by Cooper Funeral Chapel of Kermit.
Mr. Frymire graduated from Jal High School in Jal, N.M., in 1974 and lived in Jal for 32 years. He moved to Carlsbad 7-1/2 years ago and worked as a lease operator for Getty Oil Co. He was a member of Jal First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Nina Frymire of Anderson; his parents, Carl Frymire and Yvonne Frymire, both of Jal, N.M.; one brother, Sidney Frymire of Crane; one sister, Carla Wilson of Jal, N.M.; five nieces and one nephew; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Vera Jennings
ELBERT - Vera Jennings, 76, died Friday in an Olney hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Throckmorton Church of Christ with the Rev. Duane Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Elbert Cemetery, directed by Merriman-Archer Funeral Home of Throckmorton.
Mrs. Jennings was born in Sadler in Grayson County and graduated from the Hendrick Medical Center School of Nursing in Abilene. She married Joel Jennings in 1938 in Roby and moved to Throckmorton in 1949 from Young County. She worked as a nurse in Olney for two years and Throckmorton for 26 years before retiring in 1979. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, of Elbert; two daughters, Brenda Savage of Denton and Barbara Fitzgerald of Wichita Falls; one son, Barry Jennings of Vernon; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Stephanie Allison Windham
COLEMAN - Stephanie Allison Windham, 7, a first-grader at Coleman Elementary, died Thursday in a Fort Worth hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dick Shultz and Sam Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery.
Stephanie was born in Abilene and was a lifelong Coleman resident. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her parents, Marty and Tracy Windham of Coleman; one brother, Devin Windham of Coleman; one sister, Samantha Windham of Coleman; her maternal grandparents, Gary and Betty Crump of Coleman; her paternal grandparents, Arthur and Carolyn Windham of Coleman; four aunts and three uncles; and several cousins.
Memorials may be sent to Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Louise Bales Hardy
BROWNWOOD - Louise Bales Hardy, 87, of Lake Brownwood, died Wednesday in a local hospital after a sudden illness.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Carson Cemetery in Ector, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hardy was born in Royse City and was a homemaker. She moved to Lake Brownwood in 1967. She was a Baptist and was the widow of William Paul Hardy, whom she married in 1930 in Ardmore, Okla.
Survivors include one sister, Marguerite Weiss of West Baden Springs, Ind.; one brother, Raymond D. Bales of Azle; and many nieces and nephews.

Robert Lynn Sanders
GORMAN - Robert Lynn Sanders, 43, died Thursday at his home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with Craig Rhoton and Dewey Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Mr. Sanders was born in Gorman and married Lisa Pannell in 1978 in Fort Worth. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, of Fort Worth; three sons, Jeremy Sanders and Zachary Nathan Sanders, both of Gorman, and Jason Sanders of Fort Worth; four sisters, Dolores Bowsher of Perrin, Margie Whitcher of Troup, Jeannie Whittier of Gorman and Patty Isbell of Fort Worth; his mother, Frances Sanders of Gorman; and one brother, Ron Sanders of Fort Worth.
