Jeremiah Phillip Price
Jeremiah Phillip Price, 9-month-old infant, died Friday in a Fort Worth hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with Jack English officiating. Burial will be in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories.
Jeremiah was born in Fort Worth.
Survivors include his parents, Leonard Phillip Price of San Antonio and Cristina Boyd of Abilene; his paternal grandparents, Jane and Leonard Price of San Antonio; and his maternal grandparents, Irma and Jack Boyd of Abilene.

Melinda Petrea Baker Grau
Melinda Petrea Baker Grau, 27, formerly of Merkel, died Thursday in Lewisville.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with Bob Beard officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel.
Mrs. Grau was born in Chicago and lived in Merkel most of her life. She graduated from Merkel High School, and Texas Tech University in 1994. She married Kirk Grau in 1995 in Grapevine and worked as a shop director for Bath and Body Works in Plano for the past year.
Survivors include her husband, of Lewisville; her parents, Douglas and Petrea Baker of Merkel; and one sister, Laura Baker Beard of Little Rock, Ark.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Dr. Rita Naredo
Dr. Rita M. Naredo, 88, professor emeritus of McMurry University, died Friday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with Dr. Jeff Reid officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Dr. Naredo was born in Havana, Cuba, and earned a doctorate from the University of Havana. She was a Cuban representative to the Latin American Congress in 1946 in Mexico. She taught school in Cuba before moving to Abilene in 1963 from Havana. She was a Spanish professor at McMurry University from 1964 until retiring in 1977. She was a member of American Association of Retired Persons and South Central Modern Language Association. She also was an honorary member of Sigma Delta Phi and Alpha Mu Gamma. She was a Baptist and was the widow of Dr. Jose Naredo.
Survivors include two sons, Jose Naredo and Juan Naredo, both of Abilene; four daughters, Rita Latimer of Odessa, Josefina Naredo of Abilene, Herminia VillaVerde of Miami and Teresa Naredo of Havana, Cuba; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one niece.

The family will be at 3126 Grand Avenue.

George Miller
George H. Miller, 63, of Stamford, died Saturday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home Chapel, 1443 N. 2nd, with the Rev. Randy Packwood officiating. Burial will be in Potosi Cemetery.
Mr. Miller was born in Rosebud and worked for William Cameron Co. for 14 years. He also was employed by Gooch Packing Co. and Abilene Lumber. He had obtained a real estate sales license and was a self-employed carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Dottie Miller; one son, George Alan Miller of Abilene; one daughter, Sharon Weeks of Wylie; one brother, I.N. Miller of Abilene; two sisters, Helen Guy of San Antonio and Eva Hayes of Austin; five grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Paul 'Buck' Casady
Paul "Buck" Casady, 74, died Friday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with the Rev. John Wade officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Casady was born in Abilene, where he grew up, and served with the U.S. Army. He married Trixie Young in 1959 in Abilene and worked in the oil industry for 11 years. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one daughter, Diana Casady of Abilene; two sons, Johnnie Casady of Raeford, N.C., and Tommy Casady of Abilene; two sisters, Lillian Selby of Abilene and Raye Carter of Big Spring; one brother, S.M. "Doc" Casady of Merkel; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3-4 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Nelda Garrett
COLORADO CITY -- Nelda A. Garrett, 88, of Abilene and formerly of Colorado City, died Friday in an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Colorado City Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Ford officiating, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Ms. Garrett was born in Stephenville and lived in Colorado City for many years. She was a retired bookkeeper of Lone Wolf Electric and Mitchell County Day Care Center. She was a former director of the Colorado City Chamber of Commerce and a former two-time president of the local Business & Professional Women's Club. She was an officer in the local United Methodist Women and a member of the National Assembly of U.M.W. She was active in Colorado City First United Methodist Church. She moved in 1994 to Abilene, where she was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Donne Chasteen
SWEETWATER -- Donne Chasteen, 59, program assistant for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service Office for 31 years until retiring, died Friday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Sweetwater First United Methodist Church with the Rev. George Butler officiating. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mrs. Chasteen was born in Roscoe and graduated from Hermleigh High School. She moved to Sweetwater in 1965. She taught Sunday school for many years at First United Methodist Church and was the widow of Joe Chasteen, whom she married in 1958 in Hermleigh.
Survivors include two daughters, Lynn Flournoy of Abilene and Lori Davis of San Angelo; her mother, Opal Spykes of Snyder; one sister, Judy Davidson of Snyder; one brother, Willard Spykes of Highland, Utah; and two nieces.
Memorials may be sent to M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston or a favorite charity.

Lavaughn Reeder
CLYDE -- Lavaughn Reeder, 69, died Friday in an Abilene hospital.
A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Cherry Heights Baptist Church with the Revs. Dennis Williams and Doug Underhill officiating, directed by Bailey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Reeder was born in Bradshaw and married Frank Reeder in 1957 in Abilene. She moved to Clyde in 1965 from Abilene and worked as a supervisor for Southwestern Bell before retiring. She was a member of Cherry Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Clyde; three sons, Glenn L. Reeder of Clyde, and Roddie W. Reeder and Michael S. Reeder, both of Abilene; one stepdaughter, Glenda J. Brown of Hurst; two sisters, Verlene Waldrop of Pasadena and Kay Cole of Fort Worth; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Frances White George
MARYNEAL -- Frances White George, 81, died Friday at her daughter's home in Abilene.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel in Sweetwater with the Rev. Truman Davis officiating. Burial will be in Decker Cemetery.
Mrs. George was born in Coryell County and lived in Maryneal for many years. She worked at the Ranch House in Sweetwater for 16 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Maryneal Baptist Church and was the widow of Jesse G. George, whom she married in 1937 in Sweetwater.
Survivors include one daughter, Rosalind Colyer of Abilene; three sisters, Jewell Williams of Hamby, and Jenny Whitecotton and Lorena Bryce, both of Arizona; one brother, Walter White of Arizona; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Alva 'Peat' Field
BANGS -- Alva "Peat" Field, 92, lifelong Brown County resident, died Friday in a Brownwood nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Brownwood with the Rev. R.J. Elkins officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Grosvenor.
Ms. Field was born in Grosvenor and was a farmer and rancher. She was a Methodist.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
