Wadie Vera Foust
SWEETWATER - Wadie Vera Foust, 93, lifelong local resident, died Saturday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery.
Mrs. Foust was born in Sweetwater and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church and was the widow of George Foust, whom she married in 1922 in Sweetwater.
Survivors include one son, Weldon Foust of Dalhart; one daughter, Dorothy Foust of Sweetwater; one sister, Iva Foust of Sweetwater; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 405, Sweetwater 79556; or American Cancer Society, Box 295, Sweetwater 79556.
Visitation will be from 5-6:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.

George Martin
George W. Martin, 73, of Abilene died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy. 277 South, with the Rev. James King officiating. Burial will be in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories.
Mr. Martin was retired after owning and operating Hill Top Restaurant in Stamford. He moved to Abilene in 1994 and was a member of Grace Tabernacle Church and a grandparent at Abilene State School. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include one daughter, Georgann Herpeche; two brothers, Jack Martin of Haskell and Max Martin of Abernathy; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m. today.

Epifania 'Eppi' Silva
Epifania "Eppi" Silva, 50, died Sunday at a local hospital.
A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy. 277 South. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories.
Mrs. Silva was born in Sabinal, where she attended school. She moved to Abilene 12 years ago and had been employed by the Texas Department of Corrections. She married Guadalupe Silva in 1962.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Guadalupe Silva Jr. and Roy Silva of Snyder and Miguel Silva of Livingston; one daughter, Rosario Silva of Winters; two brothers, Eulogio Martinez of Devine and Antonio Martinez of San Antonio; five sisters, Magdalena Tapia of Wentachee, Wash., Ramona Surita of San Antonio, Florinda Surita of San Saba, Juanita Martinez of Porterville, Calif., and Lupe Lopez of Abilene; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Lloyd Culpepper
HASKELL - Lloyd Culpepper, 66, of Los Angeles, Calif., died Thursday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Cundiff Cemetery in Jacksboro with Dr. Troy Culpepper officiating, directed by Holden-McCauley Funeral Home.
Mr. Culpepper was born in Jacksboro and was a member of the Assembly of God. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include one brother, Dr. Troy Culpepper of Haskell; one stepbrother, L.C. Bays of Rogers, Ark.; five stepsisters, Blanche Baggett of Lewisville, Jean Meeks of Mineola, Johnnie Hilliard of Lewisville, Dorsey Schneekloth of Seattle, Wash., and Rutha Steadman of Graham; and two nephews.

Tommie Casey
HASKELL - Tommie A. Casey, 82, of Guymon died Friday at a Guymon hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Turner and Dr. Troy Culpepper officiating. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery, directed by Holden-McCauley Funeral Home.
Mr. Casey was born in Haskell County and grew up near Haskell. He moved to Guymon in 1993. He was a member of Sunset Lane Baptist Church. He married Kathryn "Fern" Hobbs in Haskell in 1933.
Survivors include his wife, of Guymon; five daughters, Anita Romo of Haywood, Calif., Carol Marsteller of Singapore, Brenda Booth of Guymon, Debra Baird of Crane and Janice Iacobellis of South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; one sister, Julia Poteet of Antioch, Calif.; one brother, Sam Casey of Corpus Christi; 23 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.

Daisy Pounds
RANGER - Daisy Pounds, 77, died Saturday in Plano.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Shelly Brooks and Bill Reed officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, directed by Edwards Funeral Home.
Mrs. Pounds was born and grew up in Ranger, graduating from Ranger High School. She worked for Lone Star Gas for 19 years and Ratiliff Feed Store for seven years. She was a member of Royal Neighbors and First United Methodist Church. She married Leonard Pounds in 1941 in Ranger; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, L.H. Pounds of Plano and Billy Bob Pounds of Fort Stockton; one daughter, Alyce Gooch of Big Lake; two brothers, H.O. Woods of Midland and Bobby Woods of Fort Worth; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Warnell Avants
BIG SPRING - Warnell F. Avants, 70, died Sunday after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Kenneth Patrick officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Memorial Park.
Mr. Avants was born in Juan and was an Army veteran. He graduated from Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science in 1959 and worked for Lamar-Smith Funeral Home in Dallas for 20 years. He managed Wilkerson Hatch Funeral Home in Brady and worked for Nalley-Pickle & Welch and Myers & Smith funeral homes, retiring in 1986. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Kiwanis Club and Western Drifters Club. He married Jo Ann Bradbury in 1983 in Big Spring.
Survivors include his wife, of Big Spring; two stepsons, Gary Bradbury of Boerne and Robert Bradbury of Clear Lake; one stepdaughter, Sherry Purdom of Hurst; one brother, Floyd Avants of Temple; one sister, Loena Smith of Big Spring; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Thelma Lilly
Thelma E. Lilly, 87, of Abilene died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Baker Heights Church of Christ with Jack English and Dean Hagler officiating. Burial will be in Clyde Cemetery in Clyde, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Mrs. Lilly was born in Marathon and worked in the kitchen of Abilene State School from 1949 until retiring in 1975. She was a member of Baker Heights Church of Christ. She married Robert Iva Lilly in 1933 in Abilene; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Deloris Ellis of Conroe; two sons, Robert Bryant "Bob" Lilly of Abilene and Wayland Lilly of Aberdeen, S.D.; two sisters, Lola Corning of Abilene and Erma Watson of Little Rock, Ark.; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Maria Nieves De La Cruz
Maria Nieves De La Cruz, 60, of Abilene died Sunday at a local hospital.
A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. today at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Uecker officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. De La Cruz was born in Stamford, where she attended school, and moved to Abilene 30 years ago. She was employed by the Abilene Independent School District as a cook for 11 years. She was a member of St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church. She married Epolito De La Cruz in 1953 in Marlin.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; three sons, Jerry A. De La Cruz, James A. De La Cruz and Don G. De La Cruz, all of Abilene; one brother, Joe Acosta of Mineral Wells; and eight grandchildren.
