Stephen Lee Goble
Stephen Lee Goble, 36, lifelong Abilene resident, died Monday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Southern Hills Church of Christ with the Rev. David Ray and Cecil Eager officiating. Burial will be in Clyde Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Goble was born in Abilene and graduated from Cooper High School in 1979. He worked as a lab technician for the Texas Department of Highways and Transportation for three years and married Pamela Sue Nowell in 1983 in Stamford. He was a member of Wylie United Methodist Church and was board chairman of the Wylie United Methodist Day Care Center.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two daughters, Stephenee Goble and Paatan Goble; his parents, Tom and Lynda Goble of Abilene; two sisters, Va Lynda Miller of Clyde and Aimee Goble of Abilene; and his grandmother, Georgia Eager of Clyde.

Juan Garcia Martinez
Juan Garcia Martinez, 70, died Monday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Abilene Municipal Cemetery, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Mr. Martinez was born in Cuidad, Acuna, Coahila, Mexico, and married Juanita Corondao in 1954 in Acuna, Mexico. He moved to Del Rio in 1955 and Abilene in 1973. He worked as a ranch foreman for many years, and also was employed by Levi Strauss Co. in Del Rio as a material cutter for 13 years. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; five daughters, Isidra Serrano, Gloria Vasquez, Elizabeth Gomez and Rosa Martinez, all of Abilene, and Velma Martinez of San Angelo; six sons, Rodolfo Martinez, Juan Martinez Jr., Alfredo Martinez, Jose Martinez and Robert Martinez, all of Abilene, and Ruben Martinez of Bryan; one brother, Jesus Martinez of Cuidad, Acuna, Coah., Mexico; two stepbrothers, Avelino Vasquez of Abilene and Gabino Vasquez of Mexico; 34 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

David Cairns
David J. Cairns, 63, died Monday in a local hospital.
Graveside services with military honors will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Elmwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Archie Echols officiating, directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Mr. Cairns was born in Pennsylvania, where he grew up, and married Gladys Mayleen Walker in 1970. He was in the U.S. Army for 25 years and served in the Korean conflict and Vietnam. He moved to Abilene in the 1970s and was a past commander of Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two sons, David Cairns Jr. of Abilene and Jimmy Cairns of Pasadena, Calif.; three sisters and three brothers; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will be at 610 Jeanette.

Francisco Herrera
Francisco Herrera, 64, died Monday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Abilene State School Cemetery with the Rev. Chuck Webber officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Herrera was born in Marfa and lived at the Abilene State School.
Survivors include one sister.

Reed Baize
Reed E. Baize, 73, died Tuesday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Tuxedo Cemetery in Jones County with Paige Baize and Arlon Baize officiating, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Mr. Baize was born in McDonald in Haskell County and grew up in Tuxedo. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and worked as a hotel desk clerk. He moved to Abilene in 1994 from California and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Jeremy Baize of Washington state; one daughter, Jody Carol Baize of Arlington; one brother, Lanny Baize of Los Angeles; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Elizabeth Paul Bunkley
SWEETWATER - Elizabeth Paul Bunkley, 86, owner and operator of Bunkley's Ladies Ready-To-Wear for 45 years, died Monday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Fluitt officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories.
Mrs. Bunkley was born in Crystal City and attended Abilene Christian College. She worked at Neiman Marcus in Dallas and Grissom's Department Store in Abilene. She moved to Sweetwater in 1937 and was a member and past president of the Business and Professional Women's Club. She was a member of Fourth and Elm Street Church of Christ and was the widow of Walter Earl Bunkley.
Survivors include two brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law.

Kenneth Lowe
ALBANY - Kenneth N. Lowe, 66, died Tuesday in an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Albany Cemetery with the Rev. Jody Sanders officiating, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home.
Mr. Lowe was born in Truby and married Doris Jean Hitch in 1951 in Stamford. He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict and worked as an oilfield electrician.
Survivors include his wife, of Albany; three daughters, Dianna Waggoner and Vickie Cain, both of Round Rock, and Sandy Gilbert of Jacksboro; two sons, Kenny Lowe of Breckenridge and Michael Lowe of Arlington; two sisters, La Fern Waggoner of Aquilla and Ruby Rorie of Stamford; one brother, Tommy Lowe of Abilene; and 15 grandchildren.

Jesse Hill
MARYNEAL - Jesse O. Hill, 82, employed by Lone Star Industries for 27 years before retiring, died Monday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Roscoe First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Addington officiating. Burial will be in Decker Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater.
Mr. Hill was born in Stoneburg and lived in Nolan County most of his life. He owned and operated the Saddle Shop in Sweetwater in 1946 and was a rancher. He was a former Maryneal firefighter. He was a member of Roscoe First United Methodist Church and was the widower of Marjorie Nell Alexander Hill, whom he married in 1946 in Sweetwater.
Survivors include one daughter, Lynda Hall of Maryneal; one son, Ken Hill of San Angelo; one sister, Elizabeth Mahaney of Dallas; one brother, Edgar Hill of Perryton; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Gertrude Low
BROWNWOOD - Gertrude Low, 91, died Tuesday in a local nursing home.
The body was cremated and memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements were made by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Ms. Low was born in Brownwood, where she attended school. She attended Daniel Baker College and operated dance schools in Cleburne, Breckenridge, Odessa, Midland, and for the past 25 years, in Farmington, N.M. She was a life member of Dancing Masters of America and was active in the Elks lodge in Farmington, N.M. and the Business Professional Association. She was an Episcopalian.
Survivors include one niece, Cherita Pouncey Selcer of Brownwood; three nephews; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
