Gladys Hain
Gladys Hain, 76, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in IOOF Cemetery with the Revs. James King and Don Woods officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Hain was born in Dallas and moved to Abilene in 1947. She married Phillip Ray Hain in 1985 in Abilene and was a homemaker. She was a member of Grace Tabernacle Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene.
Visitation and viewing will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Monte Zane Richburg
CHAMPION - Monte Zane Richburg, 56, died Wednesday in Mitchell County.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Roscoe Church of Christ with the Revs. Jay Simpson and Charles Addington officiating. Burial will be in Roscoe Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Roscoe.
Mr. Richburg was born in Roscoe and lived in Nolan County most of his life. He graduated from Roscoe High School and Texas A&M University, and married Sammye Sheridan in 1964 in Grapeland. He farmed and ranched in Nolan and Mitchell counties. He was a former Highland school trustee and, at the time of his death, was a board member of the Loraine Co-Op Gin. He was a member and Sunday school teacher at Highland Baptist Church in Sweetwater.
Survivors include his wife, of Champion; one son, Monte Richburg of Roscoe; two daughters, Melanie Richburg of Abilene and Melinda Alexander of Loraine; his mother, Charlsie Richburg of Roscoe; one sister, Crystal Aljoe of Roscoe; two brothers, Than Richburg of Grapeland and Walter Richburg of Fort Worth; five grandchildren; his grandmother, Dessa Cleckler of Sweetwater; and one aunt.

August Hackfield Jr.
WACO - August H. Hackfield Jr., 74, brother of two Big Country residents, died Tuesday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Waco Memorial Park with Sam Armstrong officiating, directed by Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home.
Mr. Hackfield was born in New Town, Texas, and attended school in Knox City. He worked on the 6666 Ranch in Guthrie and Waggoner Ranch in Vernon before serving with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed as a drilling contractor by Fluer Oil Co. in Oklahoma and, upon retiring, returned to Texas. He was a Mason and attended the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sisters, LaQuita Wilfong of Haskell and Mary Lee Montandon of Munday; one brother, Paul Edward Hackfield of LaMesa, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

Leonard Darrell Hammons
MORAN - Leonard Darrell Hammons, 81, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Moran Baptist Church with the Rev. Cole Farmer officiating. Burial will be in Moran Cemetery, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home.
Mr. Hammons was born in Italy, Texas, and married Margie Rice in 1937 in Moran. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He worked in the oil field for 50 years and, upon retiring, moved to Moran. He was a former Moran fire marshall and city councilman, and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Lansdale of Athens, Texas; three sisters, Mary Cook of Kingston, Okla., Gladys Macon of Odessa and Dorothy Meek of Smithfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Dessie Fisher
WINTERS - Dessie L. Fisher, 92, lifelong Winters-area resident, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Winters Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gayland Broadstreet officiating. Burial will be in Northview Cemetery.
Mrs. Fisher was born in Talpa and was a homemaker. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and was the widow of W.D. "Bill" Fisher, whom she married in 1923 in Winters.
Survivors include one daughter, Neta Jennings of San Angelo; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Glenn Hamilton
CISCO - Glenn Hamilton, 72, died Wednesday at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Kimbrough Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Benny Hagan officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Hamilton was born in Gorman and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He married Mary Frances Whisenant in 1946 in Cisco and worked as an automotive mechanic. He was a member of Cisco Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10782 and East Cisco Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Cisco; three sons, Terry Gene Hamilton of Detroit, Randy Glenn Hamilton of Lavon and Darrell Wayne Hamilton of Mesquite; one sister, Shirley Self of Gorman; and four grandchildren.

Glenn Gipson
BROWNWOOD - Glenn Gipson, 71, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Lemons Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Plainview with the Rev. Glen E. Godsey officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery. Local arrangements were made by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Mr. Gipson was born in Plainview, where he graduated from high school. He farmed in Olton and Lockney for 18 years, and worked for the state of Kansas for 19 years before retiring in 1987. He was a member of Olton First Baptist Church and was the widower of Zada Cooper Gipson, whom he married in 1947 in Olton.
Survivors include one daughter, Paula Bovee of Yuma, Ariz.; one son, Pete Gipson of Lake Brownwood; two sisters, Evoida Collis and Nelda Gorman; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Nolen Eugene Stimson
Nolen Eugene Stimson, 76, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with Drs. George Gaston and Gene Garrison officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Stimson was born in Murphy, Okla., and graduated from Tulsa High School in Tulsa, Okla. He attended Tulsa University and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He worked for Texaco for 34 years and married Elizabeth "Liz" Gooch in 1979 in Tulsa, Okla. He moved to Abilene in 1993 and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6873, the Elks and Masonic lodges in Tulsa, Okla., and Pioneer Drive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two daughters, Deborah June Witcher of Tulsa, Okla., and Brenda Willson Greer of Abilene; four brothers and three sisters; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be at the family home.

Ray Davis
COLORADO CITY - Ray Davis, 54, lifelong local resident, died Tuesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Christian Temple Church with the Revs. Matt Matlock and Stephen Grace officiating. Burial will be in Colorado City Cemetery, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Davis was born in Colorado City and was a self-employed food products retail salesman. He was a member of Christian Temple Church.
Survivors include one sister, Helen Bell of Colorado City; and one brother, Paul Davis of Big Spring.
