J.P. Albert
BROWNWOOD - J.P. Albert, 83, died Wednesday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Bangs Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Perry officiating, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Mr. Albert was born in Coryell City and attended school in Coryell County. He worked as a truck driver for many years. He was a member of Bangs First Baptist Church and was the widower of Zella Mae McCartney Albert, whom he married in 1939 at Clear Creek.
Survivors include two sons, Johnny Albert of Saginaw and Darrell Albert of Center; two daughters, Shirley Self of Gatesville and Betty Wall of Brownwood; two sisters, Sarah Haddon of Blanket and Johnnie Harwell of Victoria; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Alvin Harrell
COLEMAN - Alvin Harrell, 59, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with James LeFan officiating. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery.
Mr. Harrell was born in Coleman County and graduated from Coleman High School. He married Fay Perkins in 1958 in Coleman. During a career in the military, he lived in Alexandria, La.; Adonna, Turkey; Sherman, Big Spring and Temple, and retired as a supply sergeant. He returned to Coleman in 1993 and was a member of Elm Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of Coleman; one son, David Harrell of Snyder; his mother, Oleta Harrell of Fort Stockton; one brother, Ernest Harrell of Graham; two sisters, Elaine Johnson and Faye Pounds, both of Fort Stockton; one grandchild; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Earl Bratcher
MERKEL - Earl Bratcher, 78, of Granbury and formerly of Merkel, died Wednesday in Granbury.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Merkel First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home.
Mr. Bratcher was born in Valliant, Okla., and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He taught health, science, social studies and driver's education for 30 years, with a majority at Merkel Middle School. He also was a school bus driver and a farmer. He married Marjorie Miller Proffitt in 1972 in Texas and was a member of Merkel First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Granbury; two sons, David Bratcher of Lubbock and Royce Bratcher of Merkel; one stepson, Billy Proffitt of Burleson; one daughter, Sherry Dobbs of Burleson; one stepdaughter, Grada Layton of Plano; six brothers, Alton Bratcher and Burnice Bratcher, both of Artesia, N.M., Carlton Bratcher of Apache Junction, Ariz., Glenn Bratcher of Arlington, Va., Homer Bratcher of Las Cruces, N.M., and Orval Bratcher of Carlsbad, N.M.; four sisters, Velna Conner of Euless, Vivian Jones of Concord, Calif., Margie Neal of Andrews and Mildred Ward of Lubbock; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Richard Martin
SWEETWATER - Richard E. Martin, 56, market manager for 23 years with Winn Dixie Grocery, died Thursday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jay Simpson officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories.
Mr. Martin was born in Prescott, Ark., and married Janet Bell in 1974 in Sweetwater. He moved to Sweetwater in 1993 from Big Spring and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, of Sweetwater; one son, Ricky Joe Martin of Denver; four daughters, Rejeana Martin Frazier of Denver, Melissa Martin Boren and Gwen Martin Noble, both of Guymon, Okla., and Sebrenia Martin Rangel of Pecos; his mother, Dale Cox of Waco; three brothers, Charles Martin of Sweetwater, Troy Martin of Laurens, S.C., and Billy Martin of Branson, Mo.; four sisters, Mary Clark of Houston, Dorothy Austin and Virginia Conatser, both of Waco, and Carolyn Goldman of Waxahachie; and nine grandchildren.

Jo Ann Dobbins
Jo Ann Dobbins, 63, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Burkett Cemetery near Coleman with Dr. Charles Sheffield officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Dobbins was born in Clairmont and attended school in Burkett and Coleman. She was a homemaker and moved to Abilene in 1956. She attended Free Methodist Church and was the widow of Pinkie Dobbins, whom she married in 1951 in Coleman.
Survivors include one son, Billy Wayne Dobbins of Austin; two daughters, Linda Darnell Dobbins and Jo Dale Creed, both of Abilene; one brother, Tommy Underwood of Colorado; one sister, Shirley Faye White of Arlington; and eight grandchildren.

Clemencia Reyes
Clemencia Reyes, 71, died Friday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home Chapel, 1443 N. 2nd, with the Rev. Charles Maciel officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. in Rotan Cemetery.
Mrs. Reyes was born in New Braunfels and married Gonzalo Reyes in 1960 in Roby. She was a homemaker and recently moved to Abilene from McHenry, Ill. She attended Ambler Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; one son, Rudy Reyes of Abilene; four daughters, Carolina Reyes of Lake Zurich, Ill., Lucy Bernhardt of O'Fallon, Mo., Virginia Halter of Algonquin, Ill., and Elveta Trejo of Waco; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Vaughney Vera Middleton
Vaughney Vera Middleton, 82, housekeeper at First National Bank for 20 years before retiring, died Friday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Friday Couch officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Middleton was born in Granite, Okla., and graduated from Abilene High School and Draughon's Business School in Abilene. She married John R. Middleton in 1943 in Abilene and worked for the Defense Department in Washington, D.C. during World War II. She returned to Abilene in 1946 from Lexington, Ind., and was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; one son, Gerald Middleton of Abilene; one brother, Lansden Ballard of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren; three nephews and two nieces; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Estella Melissa Brock
Estella Melissa Brock, 75, died Friday in a local hospital.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Southside Baptist Church with Gary Pointer officiating, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Mrs. Brock was born in Limon, Colo., and was a longtime resident of Trontdale, Ore. She married Calvin Hugh Brock in 1964 in Caldwell, Idaho, and worked as a school bus driver for many years. She moved to Abilene in 1996 and was a Baptist.
Survivors include one son, Charles E. Scott of Payette, Idaho; one daughter, Patricia Buchanan of Abilene; one brother, Donald Lyon of Limon, Colo.; three sisters, Marie Menge of Denver, Cleo Bennett of Longmont, Colo., and Ida Rice of Fresno, Calif.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

CROSS PLAINS - Lena T. Kincheloe, 80, of Abilene and formerly of Cross Plains, died Friday in an Abilene nursing home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Pipes officiating. Burial will be in Cross Plains Cemetery.
Mrs. Kincheloe was born in Coryell County and was a homemaker. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include one son, Albert Kincheloe of Abilene; two grandchildren; one niece and one nephew; and several grand nieces and grand nephews.
