Evalyn McKenzie
GRAND SALINE - Evalyn McKenzie, 94, of Amarillo died Sunday at an Amarillo nursing home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Bartley Funeral Home Chapel with Larry McKenzie officiating. Burial will be in Jamestown Cemetery.
Mrs. McKenzie was born in Colfax and lived in the Sand Flat and Pruitt communities most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She was the widow of Noel James McKenzie.
Survivors include three sons, James McKenzie and Lennis McKenzie, both of Amarillo and Larry McKenzie of Memphis, Tenn.; two daughters, Thelma McKenzie and Melba Oller, both of Abilene; one sister, Valta Gilmore of Grand Saline; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Ada Ensminger Heflin
SWEETWATER - Ada Ensminger Heflin, 94, died Saturday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Orvel Brantley and Mike Ensminger officiating. Burial will be in Nolan Cemetery.
Mrs. Heflin was born in Nolan County and grew up in Nolan. She lived in California for 25 years before returning to Nolan County. She is a member of Lamar Street Baptist Church. She married George Heflin in 1921 in Dora; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Les Heflin of Oakhurst, Calif.; one brother, Oscar Ensminger of Sweetwater; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

John Wesley 'Dub' Hunter
COLEMAN - John Wesley "Dub" Hunter, 89, died Sunday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Walker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kermit Sorrells officiating. Burial will be in Coleman City Cemetery.
Mr. Hunter was born in Rockwood and had lived in Coleman County all his life. He was a farmer and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He married Ruby Fae Holder in 1932 in Valera; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sisters, Helen Koehl of Coleman and Ruby Migyette of Virginia Beach, Va.; one son, Kenneth Hunter of Coleman; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Annyce Dalton Brown
ROBY - Annyce Dalton Brown, 82, died Sunday at a Lubbock nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Orvel Brantley officiating. Burial will be in Rotan Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brown was born in Rotan and had lived in the area all her life. She taught school in Roby for more than 35 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma and Retired Teachers Association. She married Oddis Brown in 1940 in Rotan; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Jay Brown of Lubbock and Fenton Brown of Dallas; one sister, Virginia Eaton of Sweetwater; one niece, three grandchildren and numerous other relatives.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Serena Buchanan Stakes
NEDERLAND - Serena Buchanan Stakes, 65, died Saturday at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Broussard's Mortuary. Burial will be in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
Mrs. Stakes was a native of Putnam and had lived in Nederland for 42 years. She was a homemaker and retired as a clerk from Texaco.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Stakes of Nederland; three daughters, Linda Kilpatrick of Crystal Beach, Suzanne Greenville of Nacogdoches and Christi Weber Silcox of Nederland; her mother, Eva Gunn Buchanan of Port Neches; one brother, Robert Buchanan of Kingwood; two sisters, Virginia Youngblood of Nederland and Donna Sterling of Kingwood; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Revis Olsen Robertson
HAMLIN - Revis Olsen Robertson, 86, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Howard Jones and Tracy Watson officiating. Burial will be in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, directed by Foster-Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Robertson was born in Crystal Falls, moved to Hamlin in 1924 and graduated from Hamlin High School. He graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a bachelor's degree and was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He and his father owned and operated Robertson and Son Farming and Ranching in Jones and Fisher counties. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Masons, a former trustee of the Hamlin Independent School District and a former member of the Hamlin Board of Community Development. He married Mary Tidmore in 1946 in Athens.
Survivors include his wife, of Hamlin; two daughters, Revonna Kay Hamrick of Arlington and Martha Marie Fillingim of Breckenridge; and two grandsons.

Johna Lee Birdwell
BROWNWOOD - Johna Lee Birdwell, 88, a former longtime resident of Coleman, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Coleman City Cemetery with Dr. Charles Sheffield officiating, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Mrs. Birdwell was born in Madill, Okla., and was a business woman in Coleman for many years. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Coleman. She married Homer Birdwell in 1925 in Oklahoma; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Norma June Grider of Early; two sisters, of Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Jack Goulding
Jack Goulding, 87, died Tuesday in a local retirement center.
Mass will be said at 1 p.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert Bush officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Mr. Goulding was born in Greenwood, Miss., and graduated from Abilene High School in the early 1920s. He worked for Abilene Barber and Beauty Supply in the late 1920s and early '30s, and was a recorder for the U.S. Government Cotton Classers at the West Texas Cotton Growers Association. He was employed by Balfanz Construction Co. as a clerk in the early 1930s and then was an associate of Goulding's Jewelers before retiring in 1981. He served aboard the U.S. Navy's USS Navarro during World War II and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include one brother, Lefebvre Goulding of Abilene; one sister, Marie Goulding Hungiville of Abilene; and several cousins.

Francisco Rios Moreno
FORT WORTH - Francisco "Frank" Rios Moreno, 58, formerly of Stamford, died March 10 in a local hospital after a lengthy illness.
Rosary was said March 12 in Greenwood Funeral Home Chapel. Mass was March 13 in All Saints Catholic Church with the Rev. Esteban Jasso officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Moreno was born in Robstown and lived in Stamford before moving to Houston in 1968 and Fort Worth in 1971. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include a longtime companion, Alicia Trujillo; eight daughters, Norma Flores of Austin, Connie Ramos of Houston, Mary Esquivel, Josie Monroe, Dolores Martinez, Virginia Escobar and Nora Moreno, all of Fort Worth, and Melinda Lopez of Stamford; nine brothers, Larry Moreno, Pete Moreno, Raul Moreno, Joe Moreno, Vince Moreno and Mike Moreno, all of Stamford, and Ben Moreno, Sylvester Moreno and Tino Moreno, all of Abilene; eight sisters, Frances Gomez, Dominga Moreno, Janie Moreno, Susie Vasquez, Carmen Ballesteros and Rachel Rodriquez, all of Stamford, and Irene Garcia and Aurelia Delgado, both of Abilene; one half-sister, Hilaria Martinez of Mercedes; 21 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
