Lois Womack
MERKEL - Lois B. Womack, 93, of Crete, Neb., and formerly of Merkel, died Saturday in Lincoln, Neb.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Starbuck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Carter officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Womack was born in Belden and was a homemaker. She was a member of Rebekkah Lodge. She was a Baptist and was the widow of Emmett S. Womack.
Survivors include three sons, J. Emmett Womack of Redding, Calif., L.T. Womack of Lincoln, Neb., and Ralph E. Womack of Capitan, N.M.; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Owen 'Gene' Sutton
WACO - Owen "Gene" Sutton, 71, father of two Big Country residents, died Friday in a local hospital.
Services were held Tuesday in Connally/Compton Funeral Directors West Chapel with Andy Fowler and John Beckling Jr. officiating. Burial with military honors was in Waco Memorial Park.
Mr. Sutton was born in Fort Sill, Okla., and served in the U.S. Marines. He also was a Army paratrooper. He received a Purple Heart and worked for the Liquor Control Board. He was a Mason and a Shriner, and also was a member of Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2148, American Legion Post 121 and Lakeshore United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Boehme of Waco; one son, Robert Sutton of Georgetown; one stepson, Larry Boehme of Austin; five daughters, Debbie Wood of Bastrop, Sandra McGhee of Rochester, Jan Burditt of Nahcotta, Wash., Sherri Denton of Rule and Jackie Dean of Brady; his mother, Clara Sutton of Waco; one sister, Geneva Tims of Waco; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Clifton Rushing
BROWNWOOD - Clifton Rushing, 66, of Tamarack Mountain on Lake Brownwood, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Pleasant Valley Cemetery with Billy McCannon officiating, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Mr. Rushing was born in Atoka, Okla., and worked in law enforcement. He formerly lived in Odessa, where he was past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He helped reorganize the Arizona Rangers and was a Pentecostal.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Rushing of Tamarack Mountain; three sons, Olan R. Williams of Coolidge, Ariz., Dewayne Williams of Tamarack Mountain and Don Williams of San Antonio; his mother, Ethel Rushing of Sherman; one sister, Inez McDonald of Denison; 15 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Bobbie Arnold
Bobbie A. (Mrs. Buck) Arnold, 75, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Rev. Michael R. Schirle officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Arnold was born in McKinney and graduated from Bellevue High School in 1937. She attended Draughon's Business College and married Buck Arnold in 1941 in Wichita Falls. She was a homemaker and lived in Wichita Falls for many years before moving to Abilene in 1955. She worked for Timex Inc. for seven years and the Abilene State School for seven years before retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Wichita Falls chapter of Order of the Eastern Star, and Heritage Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; one brother, Tom Myers of Abilene; two sisters, Margaret Johnson of Wichita Falls and Grace Anderson of Dallas; and many nieces and nephews.

Mae Dell Lovelace
Mae Dell (Mrs. Delton) Lovelace, 76, died Wednesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with the Revs. Greg Rake and Gerald Cates officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Lovelace was born in Sayre, Okla., and graduated from Matador High School. She married L.D. "Delton" Lovelace in 1940 in Brownfield and was a homemaker. She lived in Tokio, Texas, and Morton before moving to Abilene in 1944. She worked in the credit department of West Texas Utilities Co. for 5-1/2 years and as a switchboard operator for 21 years before retiring in 1984, and was a member of Promenaders Square Dance Club, American Association of Retired Persons, Humana Seniors and Elmdale Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; three sons, Jimmy Lovelace and Alan Lovelace, both of Abilene, and L.D. Lovelace Jr. of Duncanville; five sisters, Bette Romans of Ruidoso, N.M., Jackie Swain and Sue Casey, both of Abilene, June Lindsey of Tuscola and Kay Strickland of Potosi; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Pauline Allen
Pauline B. Allen, 75, a self-employed beauty shop owner for many years, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Harry Gaston Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Curtis-Starks Funeral Home, 542 E.N. 7th.
Mrs. Allen was born in Troup, where she attended school. She also attended Prairie View College and was a longtime Abilene resident. She served on the Senior Usher Board at Mount Zion Baptist Church and was the widow of Robert Allen, whom she married in 1942 in Houston.
Survivors include one son, Don Allen of Los Angeles; three sisters, Opal P. Nelson of Troup, Juanita Adams of Baytown and Marguerite Jackson of Dallas; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Roy Jackson Vinson
Roy Jackson Vinson, 102, died Tuesday in a Graham hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in North's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 4002 Buffalo Gap Road, with the Revs. H.B. Terry and David Cason officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Vinson was born in Erath County and grew up in Funston, where he worked as a blacksmith. He was a farmer until moving to Abilene in 1944, and worked for Abilene Bedding Co. for 11 years before retiring in 1969. He lived in Arkansas for 12 years and returned to Abilene in 1993. He was a member of Broadview Baptist Church and was the widower of Rachel Ann Eoff Vinson, whom he married in 1919 in Funston.
Survivors include three sons, Ralph Vinson and Joe W. Vinson, both of Proctor Lake, and W.O. Vinson of Alma, Ark.; four daughters, Doris Collum of Abilene, Jean Stinchcomb of Prairie Grove, Ark., Ellen Myatt of Graham and Judy Ward of Lincoln, Ark.; 29 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will be at Embassy Suites.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Eula Lee Gardner
STAMFORD - Eula Lee Gardner, 62, lifelong Stamford-area resident, died Sunday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Solomon Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Clark officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery, directed by Tankersley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gardner was born in Stamford and was a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, Ray Gardner of Stamford and Billy Ennis of Odessa; six daughters, June Giddings, Beverly Ross and Sandra Fields, all of Dallas, Debra Gardner of Stamford, Patty Gardner of Abilene and Faye Ennis of Midland; three brothers, Tommy Collins of Stamford, Wendell Gardner of Houston and Edward Gardner of California; six sisters, Jimmie Gray, Lillie Gardner and Catherine Davis, all of California, Virginia Fletcher and Delores Williams, both of New Mexico, and Thelma Clay of Chicago; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Conrad Clapp
RIO VISTA - Conrad Clapp, 21, an Abilene Christian University student, died Tuesday in Abilene.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Martin's Funeral Home Chapel in Cleburne with Rocky Moncus officiating. Burial will be in Rio Vista Cemetery.
Mr. Clapp was born in Hope, Ark., and graduated from Rio Vista High School. He worked for Rio Vista Bank in Rio Vista and Cleburne, and was a charter member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans. He was a church camp counselor in Oklahoma and Texas and also was involved with the Leadership Training for Christ program. He was a substitute minister, teacher and song leader at the Parker and Rio Vista Churches of Christ, and was a member of Central Church of Christ.
Survivors include his mother, Pamela Clapp of Rio Vista; two brothers, Kenneth Clapp of Childress and Colby Clapp of Rio Vista; and his grandparents, H.L. Crenshaw of Lake Side Village, Eugene Clapp of Kansas and Jane Cunningham of Arlington.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
