Nell Parker
SPRING - Nell Parker, 65, Clyde native, died Saturday in The Woodlands.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Oak Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Gordon Sudduth officiating. Burial will be in Garden Park Cemetery, directed by Cashner Funeral Home of Conroe.
Mrs. Parker helped organize the Darryl Royal and Willie Nelson Invitational, benefiting the Texas Boys Club, and the Houston Open. She sang in the choir at Oak Ridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Kitchens of Alvin, Eva Garza of Conroe and Sharon Kelley of Richmond, Va.; two sons, Clifton Lester and Jack Parker, both of Spring; five sisters, Nina Day, Mozelle Strickland, Eddie Wright, Geneva Parker and Jean Turner; two brothers, Bill Caperton and Wallace Caperton; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Thurman Boucher
GUSTINE - Thurman M. Boucher, 82, died Friday at his home near Gustine.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Hall & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Comanche with the Revs. Herman Boucher and David Parks officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery near Gustine.
Mr. Boucher was born in Erath County and moved to Gustine in 1919. He married Imogene Moore in 1968 and was a farmer and rancher. He was a deacon at Baggett Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Gustine; one daughter, Rita Thompson of Tyler; two stepdaughters, Sharon Ulrich of Allen and Darla Renz of Balmorhea; two brothers, the Rev. Herman Boucher of Houston and Roy Preston Boucher of Florida; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Sarah (Mrs. L. Haven) Miller
Sarah B. (Mrs. L. Haven) Miller, 76, of Abilene died Friday at a local care center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Southern Hills Church of Christ with Carley Dodd and Joe Hailey officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home.
Mrs. Miller was born in Isom, Tenn., and moved to Abilene in 1946. She graduated from David Lipscomb College and attended Abilene Christian University. She worked in the ACU bookstore until retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Church of Christ and a children's Bible teacher. She married L. Haven Miller in 1939.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; two daughters, Ada Dodd of Abilene and Deborah Hailey of Jasper; one son, Stephen Miller of Garland; one sister, Mary Nelle Rogoski of Knoxville, Tenn.; one brother, Alonzo Worley "Al" Beasley of Spartanburg, S.C.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Chris 'El Bolio' Sigala Jr.
Chris "El Bolio" Sigala Jr., 59, died Saturday at a local hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Uecker officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Sigala grew up in Cisco and moved to Abilene in 1953. He worked for C.B. Oates Construction Company for 20 years and had been at Jackson Elementary School as a custodian for 10 years. He was a member of St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Florinda Sigala, of Abilene; one daughter, Christina Castro of Abilene; one son, Chris Sigala of Abilene; three brothers, Paul Sigala and Augustine Sigala, both of Abilene, and Manuel Sigala of Irving; four sisters, Esperanza Martinez of Visalia, Calif., and Alice Davila, Gloria Ortiz and Ofelia Villereal, all of Abilene; and four grandchildren.

MERKEL - Clyde Lewis Irvin, 89, died Sunday in Abilene.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home.
Mr. Irvin was born in Noodle and lived in Merkel all his life. He was a farmer-rancher and a member of Woodmen of the World and First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He married Pearl Meeks in 1928; she preceded him in death. He married Ruby Clifford in 1949; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include two stepsons, Lonnie Thompson of Abilene and Johnny Thompson of China Spring; two daughters, Joyce Emanuel of Bedford and Dorothy Nell Truitt of Mansfield; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Rev. Roy Evans
The Rev. Roy Evans, 89, of Abilene died Monday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy. 277 South, with the Rev. Randy Estes officiating, assisted by the Rev. Darrell Sandlin. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Rev. Evans was born in Brushy Creek in Smith County, near Palestine. He was ordained by the Assembly of God Church in 1929 and was an evangelist until accepting the pastorate of the Assembly of God Church in Winters in 1931. He served as pastor in Brownsville, San Angelo, Winters and Freer. He pastored in Breckenridge from 1944-1947 and moved to Abilene in 1947, founding Glad Tidings Assembly of God and pastoring it for 37 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God and served on the Presbytery of the San Angelo, San Antonio and Corpus Christi Sections of the Assembly of God. He was secretary-treasurer of the Abilene Section for 22 years and served as a chapter president for Abilene AARP. He married Dola Proctor in 1926; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include three sons, Harold W. Evans of Biloxi, Miss., and Dinsel Ray Evans and Roy Gayle Evans, both of Abilene; one daughter, Jean Estes of Abilene; two sisters, Christelle Evans and Bonnie Richards, both of Abilene; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
The body will be at the funeral home, 542 Hickory, until noon Wednesday.

MSgt. James Barnes
RANGER - U.S. Air Force MSgt. (ret) James L. Barnes, 62, died Friday at an Austin hospital.
Services were Saturday at Cook-Walden Funeral Home Chapel in Round Rock. Burial was in Brownsville.
Mr. Barnes was born in Weatherford, grew up in Ranger and graduated from Ranger High School in 1953. He joined the Air Force in 1955, retiring after 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Celia Barnes of Round Rock; two sons, Larry Barnes of Abilene and Garry Barnes of Bedford; his father, J.W. Barnes Jr. of Ranger; his mother, Jeri Oatman of Weatherford; two sisters, Shirley McLeod of Weatherford and Mary Clifton of Eastland; three brothers, Bill Barnes and Ben Barnes, both of Ranger, and Rick Oatman of Fort Worth; six grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

Alma Louise Smedley
BROWNWOOD - Alma Louise Smedley, 74, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Coleman City Cemetery.
Mrs. Smedley was born in Santa Anna and had lived in Brownwood since 1983. She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She married Bill Smedley in 1948 in Wilmington, Del.; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one sister, Helen Scott of Brownwood; one brother, Eugene Harris of Temple; four nephews and one niece.
