Clara Lee Gholson Downing
SAN ANTONIO - Clara Lee Gholson Downing, 70, formerly of Aspermont, died Saturday at a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Aspermont Cemetery with the Rev. Barry Taylor officiating, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mrs. Downing married Jack Downing in 1945.
Survivors include her husband, Col. (ret) Jack Downing of San Antonio; one daughter, Jill Downing of Lockhart; and two sons, Jack Downing Jr. of Austin and Robert W. Downing of Albuquerque, N.M.

Kenneth Ray Weems
Kenneth Ray Weems, 52, of Abilene died Saturday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Highland Cemetery in Stamford with the Rev. Donny Harbers and Rick Hargrove officiating, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd
Mr. Weems was born in Stamford and was a carpenter and a Baptist.
Survivors include his mother, Ruth Weems of Potosi; two sons, Kenneth Ray Weems Jr. and Howard Arnette Weems; one brother, Jerry Weems of Potosi; three nieces and one nephew.

Viola Scott
Viola Scott, 94, died Sunday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at New Light Baptist Church with Dr. Leo F. Scott officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, directed by Curtis-Starks Funeral Home, 542 E.N. 7th.
Mrs. Scott was born in Marlin, where she attended school. She was a longtime Taylor County resident and was a domestic worker for the Earnest Wright family for 40 years. She was a member of Senior Choir and Senior Mission Society at New Light Baptist Church. At one time, she sold home-cooked meals.
Survivors include two nieces and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Dr. Boyd Nibling
BURNET - Dr. Boyd Nibling, 87, of Eddy died Saturday.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Edgar Funeral Home. Burial will be in Burnet Cemetery.
Dr. Nibling was born in San Angelo and graduated from the University of Texas and UT Medical School of Galveston in 1937. He was an Army Medical Corps veteran of World War II and was in private practice in McCamey for many years. He retired as staff physician of Veterans Hospital in Waco in 1978.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Frazier Nibling of Eddy; three daughters, Iris Williams of Abilene, Edith Anne Strickland of Belton and Lisa Marie Trewitt of Bastrop; two stepsons, James Alvin Nolan of Eddy and Henry Nolan of Burnet; one sister, Alene Hudspeth of San Angelo; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

J.E. 'Dick' Traweek Sr.
MERKEL - J.E. "Dick" Traweek Sr., 70, died Sunday in Merkel.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Scott officiating. Burial will be in Spur Memorial Cemetery in Spur, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home.
Mr. Traweek was born in Truscott and was a custodian with Caldwell, Merkel and Tye schools and for Abilene State School. He was a parts runner for Tra-Tec Auto and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He played bass for a local country band.
Survivors include one son, David Traweek of Merkel; three daughters, Ann Smith and Shirley McKee, both of Merkel, and Lois Galloway of Chandler, Ariz.; six brothers, C.B. Traweek of Burkburnett, Harry Traweek and Willard Traweek, both of Crowell, Jack Traweek of Brownwood, Otis Traweek of Weatherford and Rex Traweek of Big Lake; five sisters, Bessie Calloway of Snyder, Leota Cogdell of Abilene, Glennie Owens of Crowell, Ura Owens of Vernon and Irene Rutherford of Gilliland; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Myra Johnston
BROWNWOOD - Myra E. Johnston, 101, died Monday in Brownwood.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Miles Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Allen officiating, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnston was born in Granger and moved to Brownwood in 1951. She was a homemaker and the oldest member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church. She married Marshall Johnston in 1919; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Georgia Lee Rampy of Brownwood; two granddaughters, four great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and one niece.

Romie 'R.B.' Cullins
EARLY - Romie "R.B." Cullins, 75, of San Antonio and formerly of Coleman County, died Saturday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Bangs Cemetery with Roy Faulkner officiating, directed by Heartland Funeral Home.
Mr. Cullins was born in Coleman County and married Hazel Lee Albright in 1957; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include four sons, Romie Glen Cullins of Cincinnati, Ohio, Louis Walter Cullins and Samuel Dennis Cullins, both of San Antonio, and Lee Ray Cullins of Brownwood; one stepson, Walter Albright of Rosharon; three sisters, Ruby Flynn of San Antonio, Rosa Lee Beard of Chico and Reba White of Skidmore; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Emma Louise Davis
COLEMAN - Emma Louise Davis, 77, of Breckenridge and formerly of Coleman, died Sunday in Breckenridge.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Walker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Hammonds officiating. Burial will be in Coleman City Cemetery.
Mrs. Davis was born in Coleman, where she lived most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church. She married Les Davis in 1947 in Waco; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Janna Heasley of Breckenridge, and three grandchildren.

Ruth Buster
MERKEL - Ruth D. Buster, 82, died Sunday in Abilene.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home.
Mrs. Buster was born in Merkel and was a licensed vocational nurse. She had worked for Sadler Clinic and West Texas Medical Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church, United Daughters of the Confederacy and West Texas Genealogical Society. She married Claude Buster in 1979 in Canyon.
Survivors include her husband, of Merkel; one son, Bobby Glen Pangle of Katy; one brother, Vernon Davis of Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Vivian Davis of Merkel and Maurine Moreland of Plains; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Merkel Cemetery Association, 201 Edwards in Merkel.
