D.W. 'Red' Little
BROWNWOOD - D.W. "Red" Little, 77, lifelong local resident, died Friday in a local hospital after short illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Camp officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Little was born in Winters and served with the U.S. Horse Calvary and Army during World War II. He married Jerlene Lawson in 1948 in Brownwood. He worked for Shaws Laundry for many years and retired from the Texas Highway Department. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, of Brownwood; two daughters, Linda Ainsworth of Pineville, La., and Sandra Gosnell of Early; four sons, D.W. "Mickey" Little Jr., Marcus Little and Mikie Price, all of Brownwood, and Raymond Price of Abilene; two sisters, Vera Felty of Coleman and Faye Dover of Wickenburg, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4:30-5:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Wilburn Faught
ALBANY - Wilburn J. Faught, 81, died Friday in an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Albany Cemetery with the Rev. Don Clevenger officiating, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home.
Mr. Faught was born in Florence and married Thelma Irene Ketchum in 1940 in San Saba. He worked as an oilfield truck driver and later was a grocery store employee in Albany. He was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Florence.
Survivors include one son, Thomas E. Faught of Clearwater, Fla.; one daughter, Sylvia Leigh Browning of Homestead, Fla.; two sisters, Roberta Havens of Abilene and LaDell Jumpers of Midland; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Alma Emma Blythe
SWEETWATER - Alma Emma Blythe, 91, of Alvin and formerly of Sweetwater, died Friday at her home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Jay Simpson officiating. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery.
Mrs. Blythe was born in Comanche County and married James Howard Blythe in 1923 in Sweetwater. She and her husband were farmers in Claytonville. She moved to Claytonville in 1923, Sweetwater in 1968 and Alvin in 1990, and was a member of Highland Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Leo Blythe of Odessa and Boyd Blythe of Alvin; three daughters, Norene Chisum of Alvin, Jimmie Bennett of Sweetwater and Peggy Hall of Crowley; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mildred Bellamy
ALBANY - Mildred M. Bellamy, 75, of Shipshewana, Ind., and formerly of Albany, died Wednesday in a Goshen, Ind. nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Albany First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Albany Cemetery, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bellamy was born in Sherman and was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was the widow of James T. Bellamy, whom she married in 1972 in Carthage.
Survivors include one son, Lyndon D. Lynch of Shipshewana, Ind.; and one sister, Mamie Robbins of Arlington.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Bill Tatom
SPUR - W.F. "Bill" Tatom, 64, died Friday at his home after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Spur Memorial Cemetery, directed by Campbell Funeral Home.
Mr. Tatom was born in Rotan and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He married Alice Thomason in 1952 in Crosbyton and was a self-employed truck driver for many years. He moved to Spur in 1992 from Rotan.
Survivors include his wife, of Spur; one son, Travis Tatom of Port Lavaca; five brothers, J.T. Thompson of Houston, Roy Don Tatom, Lonnie Gaston and Oney Gaston, all of Marble Falls, and Joe Gaston of Jayton; three sisters, Edith Bryant and Lola Tucker, both of Caddo Mills, and Nina Woods of Marble Falls; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Joyce Cooper
Joyce H. Cooper, 75, of Abilene died Saturday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Crescent Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Chancellor officiating. Burial will be in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories with Dr. Phil Christopher officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Cooper was born in Rochester, where he graduated from high school before attending Abilene Christian College and Texas Tech University. He was an Army and Navy veteran and retired after 26 years with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Crescent Heights Baptist Church, John Sayles Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star 1013. He married Eva Lee Oakley in 1956 in Clovis, N.M.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two sons, John Cooper of El Paso and Ronald Cooper of Abilene; one daughter, Melody Jackson of Tyler; three stepdaughters, Darlene Watson, Delores Bennington and Sandra Oakley, all of Abilene; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Lois (Mrs. David) Bennett
Lois (Mrs. David) Bennett, 90, died Saturday at her home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with the Revs. Bob Ford and Caro Russell officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Stamford Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Bennett was born in Elbert and moved to Abilene from Stamford in 1943. She graduated from West Texas State College and from Hardin-Simmons University with a master's degree in special education. She was a pioneer in special education, teaching in the Abilene school district for 17 years. She was a member of Retired Senior Volunteer Persons, Retired Teachers Association, League of Women Voters, Rose Park Senior Citizens and Homebuilders Sunday school class. She was the widow of David Stribling Bennett Sr.
Survivors include one son, Dr. David S. Bennett Jr. of Allenwood, N.J.; three daughters, Lou (Mrs. Don) Swindell and Virginia (Mrs. Julian) Gilbert, both of Abilene, and Gloria (Mrs. David) Robertson of Dallas; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Ada 'Granny' Lemond
Ada E. "Granny" Lemond, 90, died Sunday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at North's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 4002 Buffalo Gap Road, with the Revs. Gary Word and Allan Cartrite officiating.
Ms. Lemond grew up in Wood County and lived in Fort Worth, Marshall and Golden before moving to Abilene in 1947. She was a member of Happy Rollers Senior Citizens Bowling League until age 85. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Chapel Church of God.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary E. Pierce and Beth Mahaffey, both of Abilene; five sons, S.C. Lemond, Erwin E. Lemond and Doyle F. Lemond, all of Abilene, Odis Guy Lemond of Brownwood and Carl Lemond of Hawley; one sister, Estelle Parker of Abilene; 28 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
The family will be at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange, from 6-7:30 p.m. today.

David Byron 'Dick' Williams
David Byron "Dick" Williams, 61, died Saturday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Rev. Burtis Williams officiating. Burial will be in Fort Phantom Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Williams was born in Alba and moved to the Abilene area in 1949. He owned and operated David Williams Masonry for 37 years and was a member of Nugent Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Clydia Mae Remmers of Abilene; his wife, Nancy Isom Williams; three sons, Randy Williams and David Davis, both of Abilene, and Jay Akin of Van; four daughters, Becky Davison of Abilene, Laura Dankworth of Amarillo, Jennifer Reyna of Duncanville and Kristen Walter of Dallas; two brothers, Paul Melton Williams and Bobby Lee Remmers, both of Abilene; two sisters, Laura Head of Southlake and Betty Hickman of Brownwood; 19 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
