R.W. Reynolds
R.W. Reynolds, 82, died Monday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Hillcrest Church of Christ with K.B. Massingill and Dr. Paul Faulkner officiating. Burial will be in Fort Phantom Hill Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Reynolds was born in Washington County, Ark., and graduated from Anson High School in 1933. He married Laura Fern Higgs in 1937 in Anson, and also graduated from Abilene Christian College, now Abilene Christian University, in 1939, and Hardin-Simmons University in 1951. He worked as a school administrator in Hodges for eight years and Putnam for 21 years before retiring. He was a member of the Texas Small Schools, Texas State Teachers and Callahan Teachers associations, and Hillcrest Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one son, Roddy W. Reynolds of Hawley; four daughters, Willa Fern Reynolds of Abilene, Janell Cochran of Conroe, Janice Bennie of Mineral Wells and Meta Isenhower of Putnam; one brother, Jack Reynolds of Austin; one sister, JoAnn Alice Lowe of El Campo; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

George Gordan Wadley
George Gordan Wadley, 91, of Abilene and formerly of Eastland County, died Monday in Abilene after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Church of the Nazarene in Cisco with the Revs. Garland Wallace and Bob Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco, directed by Chambers-Wilcox Funeral Directors of Cisco.
Mr. Wadley was born in Eastland County and moved to Eastland in 1937 from Cisco. He worked for the Texas Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Eastland and moved to Abilene in 1989. He was a member of Church of the Nazarene in Cisco and was the widower of Esther Manning Wadley, whom he married in 1927 in Cisco.
Survivors include two sons, Aubrey Wadley of Abilene and Margil Wadley of Orange, Calif.; three sisters, Berniece Adams and Carrie Adams, both of Abilene, and Ruth "Dottie" Taylor of Rio Vista, Calif.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Margaret Elaine Matthews
Margaret Elaine Matthews, 65, administrative bookkeeper at First National Bank of Abilene for 35 years before retiring, died Monday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Elmwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Kevin Kennedy officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Matthews was born in Cisco and graduated from Cisco Junior College. She moved to Abilene in the early 1950s. She married Walter Matthews in 1955 in Abilene and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; her mother, Thelma Bosworth of Cisco; one brother, Weldon "Sonny" Bosworth of Lake Leon; and four nephews.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Vera Lawhon
Vera T. Lawhon, 65, of Abilene and formerly of Jones County, died Monday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in New Hope Cemetery in Jones County, directed by Tankersley Funeral Home of Stamford.
Mrs. Lawhon was born in Gary, Texas, and moved to Jones County as a child. She was a homemaker. She was a Pentecostal and was the widow of Robert E. Lawhon, whom she married in 1959 in Stamford.
Survivors include two sons, David Lawhon and Tommy Lawhon, both of Abilene; two daughters, Mira Bobbitt and Joyce Pate, both of Abilene; four brothers, Bob Johnson of Abilene, Morgan Johnson of Stamford, and R.T. Johnson and Vernon Johnson, both of Big Spring; one sister, Elizabeth Cobb of Stamford; and 12 grandchildren.

Janet Elaine Hopkins
Janet Elaine Hopkins, 71, died Sunday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in Church of the Heavenly Rest, Episcopal with the Rev. Scott Mayer officiating. Burial will be in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Ms. Hopkins was born in Cincinnati and attended Wellesly College. She moved to Abilene in 1951 and was a member of Junior League of Abilene.
Survivors include two sons, Andrew Hopkins of Austin and Brent Hopkins of Lake Whitney.

Mabel Parmelly Dotson
Mabel Parmelly (Mrs. Bill) Dotson, 84, of Abilene died Monday at her home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy 277 South.
Mrs. Dotson was born in Nacogdoches and attended schools in View and Caps. She was retired, having worked in the shoe departments of Minter's, Grissom's and Thornton's department stores. She was a member of Caps United Methodist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She was the widow of Bill Dotson.
Survivors include one brother, Klease Parmelly of Abilene; and several nieces and nephews.

William 'Willie B.' Wilson
MIDLAND - William B. "Willie B." Wilson, 82, formerly of Abilene, died Saturday.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Midland Polo Grounds with Allan Prager officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Sonora Cemetery, directed by Ellis Funeral Home.
Mr. Wilson was born in Sonora and graduated from the University of Texas. He was stationed in Pecos as a second lieutenant and flight instructor in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a pilot, flight instructor and attorney, and was an oil and gas company owner. He also was a rancher and invented the Auto Irrigation System. He moved to Midland in 1964. He played polo for more than 65 years and was the world's longest continuous player. He was a two-time winner of the Pacific Coast Open and also won the Silver Cup. He was a trustee of the Midland Polo Club and was a past president of the Sheep and Goat Raisers Association. He was a member of the Cattleman's Association, Texas Production Credit Association and Church of Scientology, and was the widower of Mary Glover Wilson.
Survivors include his wife, Idelis Wilson of Midland; five sons, John William Wilson, Duke Glover Wilson, Word B. Wilson, Michael Hagen Wilson and Byron Blaine Wilson, all of Midland; three stepchildren; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mac McElrath
SANTA ANNA - Mac McElrath, 41, lifelong Coleman County resident, died Tuesday in a Brownwood hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Santa Anna First Baptist Church with the Rev. Marty Reed officiating. Burial will be in Santa Anna Cemetery, directed by Stevens Funeral Home of Coleman.
Mr. McElrath was born in Coleman and graduated from Mozelle High School. He married Denise Blair in 1980 in Coleman. He moved to Santa Anna in 1980 and formerly worked for an oilfield well service company. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Santa Anna; one son, Justin Will McElrath of Santa Anna; two brothers, Jim McElrath of Lindsay, Okla., and Dan McElrath of Coleman; one sister, Luana Saverance of Coleman; one uncle; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.

Linda Dale Robertson
MAY - Linda Dale Robertson, 49, died Monday.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in May Cemetery with the Rev. Don Longoria officiating, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Ms. Robertson was born in Gorman and lived in May most of her life. She worked as a dietician supervisor at the Rising Star Nursing Home.
Survivors include three sons, Ronnie Robertson, Lonnie Robertson and Peeley Ray Robertson, all of May; her mother and stepfather, Jennette and Sam J. Moore of Killeen; one brother, Alvie Davis of Mineral Wells; three grandchildren; two step grandchildren; one aunt; and two nephews and one niece.
