Ines Marie (Compton) Holt
COLORADO CITY - Ines Marie (Compton) Holt, 96, died Sunday at her home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Williams officiating, assisted by Foy Yarbrough and Charles Henderson. Burial will be in Loraine Cemetery, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Holt was born in Eastland County and lived in Colorado City for 73 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She married Alfred Holt in 1919 in Scranton; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Cybil Duffer of Big Spring, Bonnie Alexander and Evelyn Crane, both of Sweetwater; one sister, Julia Hedrick of Cross Plains; 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.

L.A. Croom
BROWNWOOD - L.A. Croom, 75, of Lake Brownwood and formerly of Odessa, died Saturday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early with the Rev. R.J. Elkins officiating. Burial will be in Varga Chapel Cemetery in San Saba County.
Mr. Croom was born in Brownwood, where he attended school. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a captain in the Brownwood Fire Department when he moved to Odessa in 1953. He was a fireman in Odessa, retiring in 1977 as assistant fire marshal. He moved to Lake Brownwood in 1977. He was a Baptist. He married Mary Minica in 1941 in Brownwood.
Survivors include his wife, of Lake Brownwood; two sons, David Croom of Brownwood and Joe Croom of Cleburne; two daughters, Barbara Jordan of North Richland Hills and Peggy Tijerina of Odessa; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-7:30 p.m. today.

E. Glynn Mitchell
COLEMAN - E. Glynn Mitchell, 92, died Sunday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Reed Justus officiating. Private graveside services will follow in Coleman Cemetery.
Mr. Mitchell was born in Silver Valley, grew up in Coleman County and graduated from Coleman High School in 1920. He graduated from Daniel Baker College and received a master's degree from the University of Texas. He taught school in Talpa and was superintendent of schools for many years. He moved to Coleman after retiring and taught math at Coleman High School. He was a substitute school teacher and a member of Coleman Masonic Lodge and First United Methodist Church. He married Thelma Johnson in 1927 and Ruby Johnson Smith in 1982; both preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sisters, Lucille Buck of Arlington and Josephine Dickinson of Coleman; one niece, one nephew and several great-nieces and -nephews.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society; or to Hospice of the Big Country, 3113 Oldham Lane, Abilene 79602.
The family will be at the funeral home from 5-6 p.m. today.

Pauline 'Polly' Kral
SWEETWATER - Pauline "Polly" Kral, 82, of Roby died Sunday at a Fisher County hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carl Thorell officiating. Burial will be in Longworth Cemetery.
Mrs. Kral was born in Plano and was a lifetime resident of Fisher County. She was retired from the Sweetwater Independent School District, where she worked in the cafeteria. She was a member of Highland Heights United Methodist Church. She married Theodore Kral in Longworth; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Teddy Kral of Roby; three brothers, Charles Wayman Brashear of Rosenthal, Bob Brashear of Waco and Aubrey Brashear of Twin Falls, Idaho; and one sister, Geneva Stevens of Chestertown, Md.

Janie Otelia 'Blackie' Hubbard
FORT WORTH - Janie Otelia "Blackie" Hubbard, 72, died Sunday in Fort Worth.
A wake will be held from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Baker Funeral Home Chapel. Private graveside services will follow.
Mrs. Hubbard was born in Midlothian and was a retired restaurant cook. She attended school in the Bailey community near Rosebud and lived in Odessa for 20 years before moving to Ranger. She lived there most of her adult life.
Survivors include four sons, Gregory Lee Cleaver, Jesse Rollo Cleaver and Andy Davis Cleaver, all of Fort Worth, and Darrell Glen Cleaver of Eastland; three daughters, Mrs. Saul Lynn Cooper and Mrs. Arthur Colleen Coffee, both of Fort Worth, and Stacy Lavon Adams of Long Beach, Calif.; one brother, A.V. Williams of Ranger; two sisters, Odessa Vann of Ranger and Helen Williams of Dallas; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous other relatives.

Joe Rex Brown
BRECKENRIDGE - Joe Rex Brown, 63, died Sunday at his lake home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Raymond Schaeffer officiating, assisted by the Revs. Mike Clearman and Johnny Miller. Burial will be in Breckenridge Cemetery, directed by Morehart Mortuary.
Mr. Brown was born in Breckenridge, where he grew up and attended school. He attended Texas A&M University and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He served as mayor, city councilman and on the water district board and with West Central Texas Council of Government in Abilene. He served on the Community Action Program and helped start the Breckenridge Boys Choir board. He owned and operated Brown Ford dealership. He married Betty Milling in 1961 in Waco.
Survivors include his wife, of Breckenridge; one daughter, Jacqueline Turner of Breckenridge; one son, Patrick Brown of Breckenridge; one sister, Sharon Fore of Breckenridge; his mother, Minnie Lee Brown of Breckenridge; and five grandchildren.
Memorials to West Texas Rehabilitation Center or Cook Children's Hospital may be left at the funeral home.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m. today.

Elsie DeBusk
ANSON - Elsie DeBusk, 91, named Woman of the Year in Anson in 1983, died Monday at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Loren Gardner and Lee Welch officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home.
Mrs. DeBusk was born in Coleman County and attended rural Coleman County schools. She moved from Brown County to the Plainview community in Jones County in 1926 and to Anson in 1964. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church, where she was longtime president of both the Helpers Sunday school class and Aunt Dinah's Quilting Club. She married Rector DeBusk in 1922 in Cross Plains; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Bill DeBusk of Anson; two daughters, Phylecia Bailey of Haskell and Nettie Lee of Anson; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Vivian Lee Storey Jordan
Vivian Lee Storey Jordan, 92, of Amarillo and formerly of Abilene, died Friday.
Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with the Rev. Archie Echols officiating. Local arrangements were made by Elliott-Hamil and arrangements in Amarillo were made by Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jordan was born in Grant Town and worked as a legal secretary. She moved to Amarillo in 1981 from Abilene, and was the widow of Henry Hill Storey and J.B. Jordan Sr.
Survivors include one daughter, Beverly Sue Peterson of Amarillo; one stepson, Bob Jordan; one sister, Ivy Weatherby of El Paso; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to a favorite charity.

Ewald Kaufmann
Ewald Kaufmann, 49, died Monday in an Abilene hospital.
A prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. today in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory. Mass will be said at 2 p.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Woodruff officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Kaufmann was born in Rotthausen, Germany, and married Dolores Castro in 1968 in Tampico, Mexico. He moved to Abilene in 1977 from Brownsville and worked as a job supervisor in the oilfield services division of Halliburton Industries. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; five sons, Rudolf Ewald Kaufmann of Yuma, Ariz., William Hugh Kaufmann of Fort Worth, and Marcus Ludwig Kaufmann, Daniel Albert Kaufmann and Andrew Robert Kaufmann, all of Abilene; two daughters, Carla Ann Kaufmann Castaneda of Houston and Sharon Ann Kaufmann of Abilene; his father, Rudolf Robert Kaufmann of Brownsville; three brothers, George Kaufmann of Virginia, Benno Kaufmann of Corpus Christi and Albert Kaufmann of New Braunfels; three sisters, Imelda Dickey of Florida, Helen Vargas of Brownsville and Loretta Felan of Arlington; and seven grandchildren.
