Jacquelyn Moore Ryan
GRANBURY - Jacquelyn Moore Ryan, 53, formerly of Strawn, died Friday at her home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Wiley Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Larry Thompson officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. in Mount Marion Cemetery in Strawn.
Ms. Ryan was born in Fort Worth and worked as a cosmetologist. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Reiser of Granbury and Samantha Allen Denton of Dallas; one son, Dusty Moore of Austin; her mother, Mary Thomason of Granbury; and one grandchild.

Vesta Goodman
ALBANY - Vesta (Mrs. Miller) Goodman, 97, died Friday in a Temple hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Albany First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Albany Cemetery, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home.
Mrs. Goodman was born in Barry, Texas, and was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was the widow of Miller M. Goodman, whom she married in 1920 in Blooming Grove.
Survivors include one son, Miller J. Goodman of Midland; one daughter, Darlene Fergus of Harker Heights; one brother, Rufus Tekell of Cleburne; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Robert Earl Leighton
Robert Earl Leighton, 77, died Saturday at a local hospital.
Entombment will be at 1 p.m. today at Elmwood Memorial Park. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jim Pitts officiating, directed by North's Funeral Home.
Mr. Leighton was born in Redfield, S.D., and attended Pillsbury Military Academy in Minnesota. He attended 11 Air Force schools during a military career that saw him stationed in Puerto Rico and numerous bases in the United States. He retired at Dyess Air Force Base as a major in 1967 and was a driver for Bandag for 20 years. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and Elks and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He married Ruth Ann Vander Stein in 1948 in Huron, S.D.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; three daughters, Nancy Jean Leighton of Alexandria, Va., Barbara Leighton Cordier of Dallas and Lisa Key Leighton of Austin.
The family will be at 1634 S. Willis.

Antonio 'Tony' Vasquez Jr.
Antonio "Tony" Vasquez Jr., 25, died Saturday at a local hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Vasquez officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Vasquez was born in Abilene and attended Abilene High School. He was employed by C&H Paint and Body Shop and also worked part-time for Tom Hicks Construction. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. He married Christy Hutcherson in 1993.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; his parents, Antonio Vasquez Sr. and Amanda Vasquez of Abilene; two brothers, Manuel Vasquez and Danny Vasquez, both of Abilene; one sister, Lisa Estrada of Abilene; and five nieces and nephews.

Charles William Lockard
Charles William Lockard, 65, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at North's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange, with B.W. Briggs officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Lockard was born in Mars, Pa., and joined the U.S. Air Force in 1951. He transferred from McGuire Air Force Base, N.J., to Dyess in 1968 and retired in 1971 as a tech sergeant. He had been a member of North Park Church of Christ since 1968. He married Effie Lenora Bench in 1953 in Wichita Falls.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one daughter, Sue Ann Willett of Las Vegas, Nev.; one son, Charles Stewart Lockard of Abilene; one daughter, Cynthia Ann Thompson of Abilene; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will be at 734 Chaparral Circle.
Frances Pearce Thomas

ATHENS, Tex. - Frances Pearce Thomas, 80, died Saturday in Abilene.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Kyle Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park, directed by Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.
Mrs. Thomas was born in Mansfield, La., and had lived in Athens since 1978. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a charter member of Athens Garden Club. She married Harvey Norman Thomas in 1933; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Bill Pearce of Abilene; two brothers, Robert Pearce of Baytown and Ralph Pearce of Vinton; one sister, Lucille Howell of Houston; one grandson, one great-granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 672, Athens TX 75751.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Margaret Petterson
STAMFORD - Margaret Petterson, 77, died Sunday at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Kent Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Lutheran Churchyard Cemetery, directed by Kinney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Petterson was born in Lueders and lived in Jones County all her life. She worked in retail sales for Hines Clothing, Hassen's Clothing and Kinney Furniture. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and a former member and officer of Stamford Business and Professional Womens Club. She married Albert Petterson in 1946 in Ericksdahl; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Randy Petterson of Sanger; two sisters, Maurice Gerloff of Abilene (twin sister) and Myrtle Thompson of Clifton; one granddaughter and a number of nieces and nephews.

Marlin Moore
LORAINE - Marlin A. Moore, 82, of Champion died Saturday in Abilene.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Crockett and Smiley Street Church of Christ with Archie Scarbrough and Clark Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Loraine Cemetery, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home of Colorado City.
Mr. Moore was born in Rising Star and lived in the Loraine area most of his life. He was a retired farmer and a member of Crockett and Smiley Street Church of Christ. He married Ruth Woods in 1936 in Sweetwater.
Survivors include his wife, of Champion; two daughters, Margie Pinkerton of Turkey, Tex., and Wanda Bynum of Junction; one son, Stanley Moore of Loraine; four sisters, Bernice Ferguson of Burleson, Lavada Hale of Westbrook, Nelda Watts of Coahoma and Lucille King of Spring; three brothers, J.W. Moore of Big Spring, Edd Moore of Sand Springs and Lee Moore of Austin; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

MERKEL - Vernell Butman, 72, died Saturday in Abilene.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Starbuck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Griffith and Bill Luttrell officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Butman was born in Nolan County and was a homemaker. She married James Butman in 1952 in Hobbs, N.M.
Survivors include her husband, of Merkel; one daughter, Paulette Pierce of San Angelo; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
