Mrs. L.H. (Velma) Dieterich
COLEMAN - Mrs. L.H. (Velma) Dieterich, 87, died Saturday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel with James Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Gouldbusk Cemetery.
Mrs. Dieterich was born in McCulloch County and lived in Coleman County all her life. She graduated from Hardin schools in McCulloch County and was a Methodist and a homemaker. She married L.H. Dieterich in 1940 in Gouldbusk; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Reba Watters of Midland; one son, James Dieterich of Coleman; four sisters, Verna Slate of Arlington, Lavern Blackwell of Little Rock, Ark., Vivian Blair of Athens, Tex., and Gladys Pope of Bee-Be, Ark.; one brother, G.W. "Skeet" Jackson of Sheffield; four grandchildren, one great-grandson and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Roy Farris
Roy F. Farris, 72, of Abilene died Saturday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 U.S. Hwy. 277 South, with the Rev. James R. Zug officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Farris was born in Elm River Township, Ill., and moved to Abilene from Illinois in 1948. He had owned Farris TV Service since 1958. He was a member of Gunion Christina Church in Illinois and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2012. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He married Velmalene Fildes in 1948 in Seymour.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two daughters, Donna Stewart of Houston and Deidra Farris of Sherman; six sisters, Alta Walker of Farmer City, Ill., Jessie Barnes of Cisne, Ill., Gaynell Buchanan and Mary Lee, both of Fairfield, Ill., Ilene Williams of Geff, Ill., and Grace Yates of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Bobby Joe Stewart
HOUSTON - Bobby Joe Stewart, 55, died Saturday in Houston.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Carter Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lindell Buck officiating. Burial will be in Houston National Cemetery.
Mr. Stewart was employed by Stewart & Stevenson for 20 years and was a Navy veteran.
Survivors include his father, A.S. "Bud" Stewart of Abilene; one son, Kenneth "Buck" Stewart of Houston; one daughter, Laura Mojtahedi of Houston; five brothers, Walter Stewart of Las Cruces, N.M., Alvin Stewart of California, John Stewart of Tyler, Ronnie Stewart of Houston and Lynn Stewart of Abilene; and three grandchildren.

Timothy Webb
WEATHERFORD - Timothy I. Webb, 39, of Greenfield, Ind., died Saturday in Greenfield.
Services will be today in Greenfield. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Curtis Cemetery in Weatherford with the Rev. Raymond Hann officiating, directed by Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Webb was born in Weatherford and graduated from Abilene Cooper High School. He was a construction worker.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Webb of Greenfield; two sons, Timothy "Ty" Webb and Austin Webb, both of Greenfield; one daughter, Talena Davis of Greenfield; his mother and stepfather, Janice and Floyd Spain of Abilene; two sisters, Toni Fuller of Port Orchard, Wash., and Rene Mucha of San Angelo; a grandmother, Cora Sue Brinkley of Weatherford; and four nephews.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Elizabeth Wilson
KNOX CITY - Elizabeth Wilson, 93, died Monday at a local nursing home after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Jim Teeter and James Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Knox City Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Throckmorton County and moved to Knox City about 30 years ago. She attended Texas Women's University and studied classical music in Philadelphia, Pa. She was a homemaker and a member of Eastern Star, Knox City Study Club, Knox City Garden Club and the Methodist Church. She married G.E. "Ernie" Wilson in 1934 in Fort Worth; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Winstead of Midlothian; one stepdaughter, Fran Wilson of Hawley; one brother, Harry Wood of Arizona; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Grogan
ANSON - Dorothy Grogan, 69, died Sunday in San Angelo.
Graveside services were Monday in Mount Hope Cemetery with the Rev. Lee Welch officiating, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home.
Mrs. Grogan was born in Callahan County and graduated from Baird High School in 1944. She moved to Anson in 1946 and was a member of the first class of Anson General Hospital's Licensed Vocational Nursing School in 1953. She was an LVN and an accredited record technician at Anson General Hospital for many years. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church, Eastern Star, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and LVN Association of Texas. She married Paul Grogan in 1946; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Paul Jack Grogan of San Angelo; two daughters, Margaret Chancey of Austin and Lana Laird of Brownwood; one brother, Wendell Smith of Baird; one sister, Lillie Belle Glover of Springdale, Ark.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Alice Mae Jackson
HOBBS, N.M. - Alice Mae Jackson, 85, mother of an Anson man, died Saturday at a local care center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Little Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Williams officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Haven Memorial Park, directed by Griffin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jackson was born in Brenham, where she was a member of Soul's Chapel Methodist Church.
Survivors include six sons, William Jackson of Anson, James Jackson of Hobbs, Russel Jackson of Houston, Roy Lee Jackson of San Jose, Calif., Clarence Jackson of Sacramento, Calif., and Leon Jackson of Chicago, Ill.; 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
The body will be at the funeral home until 1 p.m. today.

Bobby Freeman
BROWNWOOD - Bobby Freeman, 64, of Cleburne died Sunday at his home after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. F.L. Ashley officiating. Burial will be in Sardis Cemetery in Comanche County.
Mr. Freeman was born in Monroe, La., and was a retired brick layer. He was a member of Forest Hill Assembly of God. He married Aleta Faye Fisher in 1951 in Weatherford.
Survivors include his wife, of Brownwood; one daughter, Belinda Meeks of Cleburne; two sons, Bobby Freeman and Terry Freeman, both of Dublin; one sister, Barbara Jones of Fort Worth; one brother, Johnny Freeman of Dublin; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today.

Karen Thomas Mayfield
BROWNWOOD - Karen Thomas Mayfield, 39, of Granbury and formerly of Brownwood, died Saturday in Early from injuries suffered in a traffic accident.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Robert Preece officiating. The body will be cremated.
Mrs. Mayfield was born in Brown County and was a legal secretary and a Lutheran.
Survivors include her husband, James Mayfield of Granbury; her parents, Ada Thomas and Herman Thomas, both of Brownwood; three brothers, Brent Thomas of Seattle, Wash., Dennis Thomas and Winston Thomas, both of Brownwood; one sister, Lynn Thomas of Garland; and nine nieces and nephews.
