Ima Jean Watson
Ima Jean Watson, 56, died Monday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Eastland Cemetery, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Mrs. Watson was born in Munday and moved to Breckenridge in 1974. She worked as a parts manager for the King-Brown Ford dealership in Breckenridge before retiring due to ill health in 1993. She returned to Abilene in 1995. She was a Baptist and was the widow of Marion "Pete" Watson, whom she married in 1975.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Glen Price of Abilene and Nolan Price of Austin; her mother, Claude Wallace of Waxahachie; one brother, W.L. "Dub" Wallace of Waxahachie; one sister, Ina Mae "Cindy" Wallace of Abilene; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Billie Dell Gober
Billie Dell Gober, 66, Avon Products sales representative for 25 years until retiring, died Monday at her home.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Drummond Cemetery with Jack English officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South.
Mrs. Gober was born in Jacksboro and moved to Abilene in 1942 from Winters. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1948. She was a member of Baker Heights Church of Christ and was the widow of Billy Joe Gober, whom she married in 1950 in Abilene.
Survivors include one son, Billy Joe Gober Jr. of Abilene; one daughter, Susie Gober of Abilene; one brother, Bonna J. Wyatt of Odessa; one sister, Archie Louise Byrd of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Vineta Ferrell Stremmel
Vineta Ferrell Stremmel, 75, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in North's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange, with Paul Lakey officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Stamford.
Mrs. Stremmel was born in Haskell County and grew up in Stamford. She worked as a licensed vocational nurse at Stamford Hospital for 17 years and Abilene State School for eight years until retiring in 1985. She was a member of Highland Church of Christ and was the widow of Edwin Stremmel, whom she married in 1951 in Stamford.
Survivors include two sons, Terry Stremmel of Abilene and Kenneth Stremmel of Kempner; three sisters, Mildred Harschberger of Abilene, Vesta Toney of San Angelo and LaVerne Hill of Bakersfield, Calif.; one brother, Royce Ferrell of Sweetwater; and three grandchildren.
The family will be at 4109 Richmond.

Ivan Flynn
Ivan Flynn, 84, of Lake Livingston and formerly of Abilene, died Monday at Lake Livingston.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with Dr. Phil Christopher officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Flynn was born in Blanket and graduated from Abilene High School and Hardin-Simmons University. He managed the following wholesale plumbing and heating supply businesses: Morrison Supply in Abilene for 30 years, Weakley-Watson Supply in Brownwood for three years and American Supply in Kilgore for 10 years. He lived in Abilene from 1952-75. He was a member of the Masonic lodge in Abilene, Suez Temple, and Lions clubs in Abilene and Huntsville. He also was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He was a member of Abilene First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon for many years, and was the widower of Mildred Richeson Flynn, whom he married in 1936 in Abilene.
Survivors include one son, Charles Ivan Flynn Jr. of Liberty; two daughters, Karen Sue Turner of Laurel Hill, Fla., and Janet Mabry of San Antonio; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to West Texas Rehabilitation Center, 4601 Hartford, Abilene 79605.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Laura Claudine Bacon
TULSA, Okla. - Laura Claudine Bacon, 76, formerly of the Big Country, died Saturday in a local hospital.
Memorial services were held Tuesday in Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Bartlesville, Okla., directed by Ninde Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Bacon was born in Rotan and graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in 1941. She then worked as the Taylor County tax assessor-collector until 1949 and was later employed by First Investment Co. in Bartlesville, Okla. She was a member of St. James Presbyterian Church in Jenks, Okla.
Survivors include her husband, Roy E. Bacon; two sons, Roy Eugene Bacon Jr. of Tulsa and David McCall Bacon of Dallas; one brother, Charles Franklin McCall of Rotan; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

J.C. Sheffield
SWEETWATER - J.C. Sheffield, 75, died Monday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Sweetwater First Baptist Church with the Revs. Malcolm Brown and J.D. Stewart, and Dr. Joel McCoy officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Sheffield was born in Guion, Ark., and was a longtime Fisher County resident. He married Geraldine Lynch in 1940 in Fisher County and served with the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was a farmer and rancher and moved to Sweetwater in 1989. He was a charter director of the Bitter Creek Water Supply, serving as vice president. He also served on the Sweetwater Hospital, Fisher County Rodeo Association and Fisher County Equalization boards. He was a leader in the Fisher County 4-H Program and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Sweetwater; two sons, Ronald Sheffield and Donald Sheffield, both of Sweetwater; one daughter, Becky Sheffield Butler of Kemp; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Rissie Lee Fine
DUBLIN - Rissie Lee Fine, 101, died Tuesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Congregational Methodist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Green and Ronnie Jones officiating. Burial will be in Dublin Liveoak Cemetery, directed by Harrell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Fine was born in Wilson in Comanche County and lived most of her life in Erath County. She was a homemaker and worked as the Union Grove correspondent for The Dublin Citizen for many years. She was a member of First Congregational Methodist Church and was the widow of William G. Smith, whom she married in 1914 in Erath County; William E. Salmon and J.A. Fine.
Survivors include one stepdaughter, Pat Harrell of Dublin; three grandchildren; two step grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to First Congregational Methodist Church or CCS Hospice, both in Dublin.

James 'Weldon' Walker Sr.
STAMFORD - James "Weldon" Walker Sr., 71, died Monday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jessie Morton and Minnie Walker officiating. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery.
Mr. Walker was a lifelong resident of Jones and Haskell counties and served in the military during World War II and in Korea. He married Marie Ejem in 1946 in Haskell and was a retired electrical lineman.
Survivors include his wife, of Stamford; two sons, James Weldon Walker Jr. and Billy Joe Walker, both of San Angelo; three daughters, Carolyn Morgan and Kim Moore, both of Stamford, and Paula Wells of Levelland; three brothers, Baylor Walker of Wichita Falls, Lonnie Walker of Munday and K.D. Walker of Rochester; three sisters, Bonnie Wright of Stamford, Hazel Wimberly of Houston and Blanch Hearn of Rochester; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Bill Popnoe
COLEMAN - Bill W. Popnoe, 77, of Coleman County, died Monday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Charles Sheffield officiating. Burial will be in Silver Valley Cemetery.
Mr. Popnoe was born in Silver Valley, where he attended school, and worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for many years. He moved to Houston in the 1940s where he was employed by Petrotech. He farmed and ranched in the Sealy area and Coleman County. He returned to Coleman County in 1976 and was the widower of Helen Moore Popnoe, whom he married in 1956 in Houston.
Survivors include one sister, Patty J. Freeman of Galveston; two cousins; three nieces and nephews; and two great-nieces and one great-nephew.

Karen McKimmey
ROTAN - Karen McKimmey, 45, died Tuesday in a Snyder nursing home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Rotan First Baptist Church with the Rev. Werth Mayes officiating. Burial will be in Rotan Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home.
Ms. McKimmey was born in Rotan, where she attended school, and graduated from Texas Tech and Angelo State universities. She taught school in Littlefield, Big Spring and Jim Ned. She also worked for Texas Instruments for one year. She lived in Snyder for three years.
Survivors include her mother, Annie Mae McKimmey of Rotan; one brother, Clyde McKimmey of Big Spring; one sister, Kay Carter of Snyder; one uncle and one aunt; and three nephews and one niece.
