William 'Bill' Lockstedt Sr.
VALLEY MILLS - William "Bill" Lockstedt Sr., 66, formerly of Abilene, died Friday in a Temple hospital.
Graveside services were held Saturday in St. Martin's Cemetery near Tours with the Rev. Isidore Rozycki officiating, directed by Aderhold Funeral Home of West.
Mr. Lockstedt was born in Elk and married Billie Farquhar in 1971 in Midland. He owned and operated cotton gins in several West Texas towns and also was a cattle rancher for many years until retiring in 1986. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include his wife, of Valley Mills; one son, William F. Lockstedt Jr. of Winters; one stepson, Randall Klose of Irving; one stepdaughter, Vickie Hargrove of Hawley; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

B.E. Webster
CROSS PLAINS - B.E. Webster, 80, died Saturday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with Knox Waggoner officiating. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery.
Mr. Webster was born in Paris, Texas, and married Iva Nell Webb in 1946 in Sweetwater. He worked for the city of Newport Beach, Calif., as a parks and recreation maintenance man before retiring.
Survivors include his wife, of Cross Plains; one daughter, Patricia Glass Freck of Villa Park, Calif.; one son, David B. Webster of Cross Plains; and three grandchildren.

Mabel Sherrod
BROWNWOOD - Mabel V. Sherrod, 86, died Saturday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Coggin Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Allen and Rick Cavitt officiating. Burial will be in Jordan Springs Cemetery, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sherrod was born in Brownwood and lived in Brownwood for most of her life and Houston for 16 years. She taught school in Whon, Jordan Springs, Chapel Hill, Brookesmith and Houston and retired in 1971 after a 41-year career. She was a charter director of the Jordan Springs Cemetery Association, serving as secretary until her death. She was a member of the retired teachers association and Coggin Avenue Baptist Church, and was the widow of Oren Sherrod, whom she married in 1930 in Brownwood.
Survivors include one son, Joe Sherrod of Llano; one brother, Ross Wilson of Gorman; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one nephew; and many cousins.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Georgia Augusta Whitlock
DESDEMONA - Georgia Augusta Whitlock, 79, died Saturday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel in Gorman with Pete Hanks officiating. Burial will be in Alameda Cemetery.
Mrs. Whitlock was born in Mitchell County and worked as a machine operator in a sewing factory until retiring. She was a member of Rebecka Lodge and the Church of Christ, and was the widow of Lloyd Alvin Whitlock, whom she married in 1935 in Gorman.
Survivors include one son, Roy Whitlock of Desdemona; one daughter, Jackie Whitlock of Desdemona; and four grandchildren.

Roy Neel
COLORADO CITY - Roy A. Neel, 88, died Friday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Colorado City Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Northcutt officiating, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Neel was born in Erath County and moved to Colorado City in 1920. He married Verne Dulin in 1928 in Colorado City and was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. Luke Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Colorado City; and one sister, Effie May Hogue of Colorado City.

Carl Olson
Carl E. Olson, 61, of Abilene died Saturday at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home Chapel, 1443 N. 2nd, with Sidney Martin and Dale Suel officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Olson was born in Whitinsville, Mass., and moved to Abilene in 1977. He was a Vietnam War veteran of the Air Force and retired as a senior master sergeant. He was a Baptist. He married Samniang Satlert in 1973 in Thailand.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; three sons, Nitas Olson of Amarillo, Nitipol Olson of Las Vegas, Nev., and Mark Allen Olson of Lydia, S.C.; three daughters, Pumari of Abilene, Somthavil Worakanyapsilai of Las Vegas and Holly Howe of Marion, S.C.; two brothers, Philip Eric Olson of Uxbridge, Mass., and Bruce George Olson of Whitinsville; one sister, Marilyn Smith of Haines City, Fla.; and 10 grandchildren.

Hilda Florence Kellerman
GORMAN - Hilda Florence Kellerman, 74, died Sunday at an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Gorman Cemetery with Craig Rhoton officiating, directed by Higginbotham Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kellerman was born in New Jersey and was a retired nurse and a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Margaret Montgomery of Florida, Hilda Trimble of Cactus, Eileen Latham of Ohio and Joyce Cordell of Gorman; one son, Richard Kellerman Jr. of Weatherford; two brothers, Clifton Stillwell of Woodbury, N.J., and James Taylor of Pamona, N.Y.; two sisters, Margret Call of Cacasocky, N.Y., and Glendlories Pitt of Pamona; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Mickey Hooks
BROWNWOOD - Mickey Hooks, 50, of Temple died Saturday in Lake Charles, La., after a traffic accident.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ron Cook officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Hooks was born in Brownwood and graduated from Brownwood High School in 1966. He had lived in Temple for 26 years. He was a conductor for Santa Fe Railroad for 28 years. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Temple.
Survivors include his mother, Jerry Hooks of Brownwood; his wife, Carrol Hooks of Temple; four stepchildren, Duane Greer and Soundra Aycock, both of Moody, Laura Deeds of Brownwood and Gail Price of Charlotte, N.C.; one brother, David Simpson of Burbank, Ill.; two sisters, Nancy Craig of Breckenridge and Betty Cox of Hesperia, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Joe Barnes
Joe B. Barnes, 72, of Abilene died at his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Broadview Baptist Church with the Rev. David Cason officiating. Burial will be in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Barnes was born in Deport and graduated from high school in Lueders. He attended Cisco Junior College and was a member of the school's first football team in 1947. He attended Daniel Baker College and moved to Abilene from Merkel two years ago. He was a retired postmaster, working for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years. He was a member of Broadview Baptist Church and an Army veteran of World War II. He married Billie Jean Henry in 1949 in Munday.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; three sons, Al Barnes of Houston, Joe Barnes of San Francisco, Calif., and Monte Barnes of San Antonio; two sisters, Eula Koch and Ruby Powers, both of Lueders; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Big Country, 3113 Oldham Lane, Abilene 79602; or to the donor's favorite charity.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

LaVelle Greer
LaVelle C. Greer, 83, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at North's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 4002 Buffalo Gap Road, with the Rev. David Ray officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Greer was born and grew up in Abilene and graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in 1935. She was past secretary to the Abilene Independent School District superintendent and was a member of First Baptist Church. She lived in Washington, D.C., serving as head of personnel for the federal government from 1946-1970. She moved to Austin in 1970 and returned to Abilene in 1972. She was the widow of Terry C. Hays and married John H. Greer in 1985 in Paint Rock.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; one stepdaughter, Stacey Rhiddlehoover of Abilene; one stepson, Dale Greer of Round Rock; nine step grandchildren and 17 step great-grandchildren.
The family will be at 45 Cobblestone Lane.
