James 'Jack' Leonard Lloyd
James "Jack" Leonard Lloyd, 72, died Friday in a Big Spring hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Hamby Cemetery with Bill Starrit officiating, directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Mr. Lloyd grew up in Kentucky and as a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps, flew more than 50 combat missions in Africa during World War II. He owned a home improvement business in Fairview Heights for more than 20 years. He married Rose Brandon in 1972 in Memphis, Tenn., and moved to Abilene in 1977. He operated Superior Home Exteriors until 1994 and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Hamby Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two sons, Charles J. Meyer and Richard Meyer, both of Abilene; one brother, Charles Lloyd of Fordsville, Ky.; and one grandchild.

Floyd 'Wayne' Collum
Floyd "Wayne" Collum, 73, died Saturday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel with Paul White and Dan Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Mr. Collum married Jimmie Jennings in 1942 in Abilene and served with the U.S. Army Air Corps' 88th Division, 351st Infantry Regiment in the Italian Theater during World War II. He worked for T&P Railroad for 12 years and as a road welder for Texas Highway Department for 28 years until retiring in 1985. He was a member of 11th and Willis Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two sons, Douglas Wayne Collum of Grand Prairie and Lee Odell Collum of Plainview; one brother, Carl Collum of Abilene; one sister, Merle Duke of Orlando, Fla.; and five grandchildren.

The body will be at North's Funeral Home until Monday morning.

Flossie Reeves
SWEETWATER - Flossie Reeves, 91, owner of Reeves Butane from 1944 to the 1980s, died Saturday in an Abilene retirement center.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Fourth and Elm Church of Christ with Wendell Whittenburg officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mrs. Reeves was born in Stonewall County and was a former member of The Creative Art Club. She was a member of Fourth and Elm Church of Christ and was the widow of Lester Reeves, whom she married in 1924 in Haskell.
Survivors include one son, D.R. "Sam" Reeves of Abilene; one granddaughter, Pam Rhodes of Sweetwater; and two great-grandchildren.

Evelyn McClabe Wade
DESDEMONA - Evelyn McClabe Wade, 94, died Friday in a De Leon hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel in Gorman with Roy Haley officiating. A second service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Grace Episcopal Church in Zachary, La. Burial will be in Grace Cemetery, directed by Charlet Funeral Home of Zachary.
Mr. Wade was born in St. Francisville, La., and worked as a powerhouse superintendent for Exxon Oil Co. from 1928-58. He served with the Merchant Marines during World War II and was the widower of Margaret Dawson Wade. He married Oleta Moseley in 1982 in Ranger. He was a charter member of Kenner Masonic Lodge 417 and was a 32nd degree Mason. He also was a worthy patron of the Strawn chapter, Order of the Eastern Star; and was a member of the Gorman chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and Scottish Rite Valley of Baton Rouge, La.
Survivors include his wife, of Desdemona; three sons, William Center Wade of St. Francisville, La., Joseph John Wade of Jackson, La., and Wendell Dawson Wade of Baton Rouge, La.; two daughters, Evelyn Richardson of Crosby, Texas, and Ellenor Thomas of Richmond, Texas; one brother, Feltus Wade of Baton Rouge, La.; 16 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

Joseph Cole Howeth
Joseph Cole Howeth, infant son of David and Carol Howeth, died Thursday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories with the Rev. Jerry Pauling officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy. 277 South.
Survivors include his parents; three brothers, Joshua Howeth, Jonathan Howeth and Jacob Howeth, all of Abilene; a grandmother, Franca Howeth of Abilene; and several aunts and uncles.

Eula Mae Weaver
DE LEON - Eula Mae Weaver, 89, died Saturday at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with Tom Satterwhite officiating. Burial will be in De Leon Cemetery, directed by Nowlin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Weaver was born in Hope, Ark., and worked for the city of De Leon for 20 years, retiring as city secretary. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Order of the Eastern Star and De Leon Garden Club. She married John Inzer Weaver in 1928 in Fort Worth; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, John Mack Weaver of De Leon and Thomas Henry Weaver of Jefferson City, Mo.; two sisters, Dorothy Davis of Hope and Jean Sparks of Denver City; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Bennie Joe Hobbs Sr.
SWEETWATER - Bennie Joe Hobbs Sr., 63, owner of Bennie Hobbs Plumbing since 1975, died Saturday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Broadway Baptist Church with the Rev. Lyndel Hix officiating. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery, directed by Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Mr. Hobbs was born in Sweetwater, where he lived all his life. He was a plumber and a member of Broadway Baptist Church. He married Jo Ann Lollar in 1954 in Sweetwater.
Survivors include his wife, of Sweetwater; one daughter, Dianne Russell of Arlington; one son, Bennie Rusty Hobbs of Keene; three brothers, Jack Hobbs, Ed Hobbs and Harroll Hobbs, all of Sweetwater; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Tommie June Sharp
EASTLAND - Tommie June Sharp, 56, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kyle Glenn officiating, assisted by the Rev. Jack Hays. Burial will be in Eastland City Cemetery.
Miss Sharp was born in Olden and graduated from Olden High School in 1958. She graduated from Ranger Junior College and worked for the Ranger Times and Eastland Telegram newspapers, as well as KERC Radio in Eastland. She worked for Eastland Memorial Hospital for 20 years as an insurance claims clerk.
Survivors include four sisters, Vivian Kyle, Bettie Gray, Anna Sharp and Mildred Sharp Squiers, all of Eastland; and several other relatives.

Sherrod Smith
Sherrod Smith, 84, died Monday at a local hospital.
The body was cremated, directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Central Presbyterian Church with Dr. Cliff Stewart officiating, assisted by the Rev. Scott Simpson.
Mr. Smith was born in Westbrook and grew up in Colorado City. He graduated from Colorado High School in 1931 and attended Tarleton College in Stephenville. He owned and operated the Ford tractor dealership in Brady and Industrial Motors, White Truck Dealership and Retta's Ladies' Ready to Wear, all in Abilene. He was a 32nd-degree Mason and a member of First Central Presbyterian Church. He married Retta Mae Arnold in 1936 in Colorado City.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two daughters, Sherri Ann Parker of El Paso and Kathy Wylie of Allen; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to First Central Presbyterian Church; or to Hendrick Medical System's Hospice of Abilene.

Robert Schoenvogel
BRENHAM - Dr. Robert L. Schoenvogel, 70, died Sunday at his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Harry Vein officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery, directed by Brenham Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Dr. Schoenvogel graduated from Baylor University and Baylor College of Medicine. He joined his father and brother for 18 years before returning to medical school, where he received special training in otolaryngology. He returned to Brenham and joined the Brenham Clinic Association, where he practiced 17 years before retiring.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Schoenvogel of Brenham; one son, Thomas Lloyd Schoenvogel of Raleigh, N.C.; two daughters, Leigh Black of Abilene and Lynn Bennett of Kemp; two brothers, Dr. Clarence Schoenvogel of College Station and Dr. Otto Fred Schoenvogel Jr. of Houston; one sister, Elaine Huddleston of Houston; and five grandchildren.
